Thanks! I have the PAM version but didn't know that there were such specific glue rods for it. It's been great for carpet and cove base.

Thanks. That pull apart test at the end is what I needed to see. Now I have a sense of the difference between hot glue and PVA (white glue). I'll be getting a cheaper gun (100W) and need to make sure I find the best quality sticks.

A while back i saw a video on Project Farm where he compared various store bought hot glues and it completely changed my views on hot glue. In many of his tests, the wood would fail before the glue did, and that was using a gun that was nowhere near as nice as this one.

I use the “Infinity Bond Ranger Pro” (330watts) glue gun with the 40 Flex glue sticks… I use it to glue baseboard to the walls… no more filling nail holes!!! If it’s MDF I use CA glue at the miters then about every 16 inches I put a M&M sized dab of hot glue then stick it to the wall… It works great… also great for a picture frame Wainscoting

Millis, thanks for the video. I would like to ask you if the Flex40 or Flex180 glues could be used to glue polyesther material like poly tarps. I have a job to join sheets of blue tarps together. Thanks in advance.

What’s the break strength like compared to CA GLUE OR THE PUR SYSTEM. I’m thinking as an example MDF window and door casings. I like to pre assemble them and carry them to the location of install in the home from the setup bench So they are a little cumbersome and whippy

Great review! I can see the advantage for contractors but with a big reservation. Are we really to the point where convenience and time savings completely outweigh the time-honored craftsman’s ethic that we work with consideration of future serviceability and concern for the next guy that has to remove glued tack strips and moulding? I can just imagine prying tack strips from the subfloor only to rip chunks out. I’d then have to lay product over delaminates ply and those uneven voids. What about trim and moulding? I’ve read suggestions for glueing in baseboards. I can imagine what that would do to the drywall. I need to redo mine due to surface damage and settling. Could destroy the drywall if it was glued. I’m not a contractor and I am enamored with the benefits BUT just have a hard time being okay with that. Fast, strong, serviceable... pick two. Someone else pays for the one we skip. Ideas?

Drywall is glued and screwed all the time these days, so how is it any different ? not with hot glue, obviously. But it's still glued.

@@LBCAndrew I’ve been converting my hardwood stairs from carpeted. What they did in the 80s was no worse than today and with better base materials. It’s been a long, hot mess. Thankfully their glue has failed so that I have yet to rip out chunks.

Thanks for the content you put on the channel. I see you glueing trim pieces together here. I’d like to try trimming out a house and glueing the window casing together with this glue. The product is mdf. Would you know if this would work well?
@MillisConstruction3 жыл бұрын
It should work really well. Be sure to put them together tightly quickly though as you don’t have nearly as much time as with wood glue. Think of it more as CA glue speed but with more adjusting and slipping time

Is this glue paintable? is it good for non porus surfaces? Thank you. Great info.

It is a very nice video. Just a question. Amazon & eBay are selling this gun in the US and UK with the same part number, Pam HB220, while in the US the power is 110V and in UK it is 220V. So the question is can you adjust the gun voltage between 110 to 229?
@MillisConstruction3 жыл бұрын
There is no adjustment like that on mine, I’m not sure I’ve heard of something like that without a transformer

I am going cordless and looking at 2 choices I wonder if those glue sticks will work on other brands
@MillisConstruction3 жыл бұрын
This gun will use regular glue sticks by just changing the tip, I would assume they’d fit. It’d be worth checking into. Which cordless are you looking at?

I have a cordless Surebonder glue gun that takes a Dewalt battery (You can order it to take Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi or Dewalt batteries), but it’s only 40watt… only good for crafting really… I have an Infiniti pro electric glue gun that is 330 watts… It pumps glue out as fast as you can pull the trigger

Great vid - thank you! Reminds me I need a new glue gun =)
