The dude did wonders even without throwing huge amounts of money into it. Taking it easy (using what he has until an opportunity comes to swap it) Most guys would garage the car and let it sit until such opportunity came along. I like how he focuses more on driver feel instead of power performance. The difference in turning style in japan to here int he states is so much different. Toyota4Life they featured one on the main hoonigan channel a few weeks ago. It's a Formula D car so it's modded as hell but they made it rwd obviously. Toyota gave them one of the like 3 usable 2019 cars they had built.

Great job man. Thank for sharing. I have a low mileage 1987 GT-S coupe. Original paint and interior. It has a 20V Silver top, TRD 2-Way LSD. Coilover and larger front and rear sway bars. Free flow exhaust. I owned many faster, better cars, but this is the only car that is rewarding and fun to drive. Too bad, It hide in the garage most of it life.

All USDM models have the AE86 chassis, including the SR5. The SR5 only says AE85 in the VIN. The GTS only says AE88 in the VIN. They both, however, have the AE86 chassis, making them both AE86s. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_AE86?wprov=sfti1

Feru Nan WRONG. US never even got ae85...only got ae86....one version came with single cam another came with twin cam. BOTH HAVE AE86 IN THE CHASSIS STAMP ON THE FIREWALL! The VIN has nothing to do with it....it was only an identifier to distinguish the difference between the 2 US models....but both are ae86...don't believe everything you see on youtube by people who don't even know their shit.
