recently bought a waterpik water flosser and it worked wonders. when i use it after eating i notice so many food particles washing away into the sink and after just a few uses my gums look quite healthy and pink. really recommend to anyone who struggles with gum issues and also to people with extremely crowded teeth that have a hard time pushing string floss in or fitting an interdental brush like i do.

I have gum recession problem so can I use electric brush ...... didn't it make my teeth weaker
@TeethTalk8 ай бұрын
electric toothbrushes with pressure sensors are great with strengthening the teeth due to helping you know exactly how hard to press without pressing too hard! (i.e. being gentle but not too gentle). hope this helps: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5qwYYeIpLOoY8k

Hey Teeth Talk Girl! I recently started paying attention to my oral care after I noticed signs of receding gum. I went for a clean and the Doctor told me that my gums were swelling. So I got the clean and I was bleeding a lot. The doctor told me to comeback in 2 weeks to let the gum recover (I was told to use savacol) and do a second clean to remove the tartar below the gum line. I got the second round of cleaning and the Doctor said that my gums are now healthy. But I'm still worried about my gum recession. I use manual brush and I did brush gently. I also brushed in single strokes instead of circular motion so I would brush upwards for the bottom teeth and downwards for the top teeth. Recently, I went back to the 45 degree circular brushing method but I'm still afraid that touching the gums can make the recession worse? I'm not sure if the recession was caused by the brushing or could there be other cause? Should I invest in an electric brush? My current routine is flosspick > brush > rinse with salt water. Thanks in advance for the response. Love your videos!
@TeethTalk8 ай бұрын
the number one cause of recession is from clenching/grinding teeth. if you think you are -- be sure to talk to your dentist about considering a night guard! the other two causes are poor oral hygiene and aggressive toothbrushing. electric brushes with pressure sensors are always a great idea for those with recession! again -- talk with your dentist about your individual recommendations but here is a video of mine that should give you more insight: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHLWf32Zl5mcl8k thank you for watching!

I have to say thank you for your content. I’ve always wanted to get braces but 2 years ago I was told I needed my wisdom teeth removed, plus an extraction, plus a root canal to proceed. I had severe anxiety about it and found your channel which helped me move forward. Now I’m finishing my Invisalign refinements and during my last cleaning my dentist told me to keep up whatever I’m doing because I have no build up. I floss after every meal, water pik, tongue scrape and electronic brush after each meal. I plan to keep up this routine post Invisalign. I’m finally happy with my smile and no longer fear the dentist. Thank you :) Ps I blame the movie little shop of horrors for my previous dental fear. 🤣🤣🤣

I am glad that you actually made a video about this. As I don’t think a lot of people realize how your gum health is important as well. Hi myself actually incorporate stimulating the gums into my brushing routine. I will typically put the brush in it more sensitive setting and gently glide the bristles along the gum line. Not only does it feel nice, but my gum is definitely feel nice and healthy afterward. Some of the more expensive brushes by Oral B, Actually have a gum massage mode. And I know that for some people with sensory issues, that would be extremely beneficial. Because it will give them the sensory input that they would want. In this case Oral sensory input. Which I do not think is talked about enough in my opinion.

Seems ya need 6-10 grams of xilitol a day to make a difference (spread out), which would be okay for me via mints, since I already have a mint after every meal, but where I am, I have to buy them online, and often they're imported and gotta pay shipping... I wish there were more options in Australia. Plus apparently you should be getting at least 1g per serving, which often means multiples at a time.

I tried gum toothpaste and in 1 month the blood gone completely and now whenever i clean my teeth there is no blood.If anyone of you have this problem try gum toothpaste for like 1 month i hope i help atleast one person.

Hello, Whitney! I notice that you did not mention rubber tips/gum stimulators. I started using one diligently a couple of years ago, and the health of my gums has greatly improved (according to my hygienist). Do you ever recommend this low-tech tool to your patients? If not, why? I'd love to know your opinion. Thank you for all your videos!
@dorothypond23738 ай бұрын
Also, if you do believe that gum stimulators could be helpful, perhaps you could do a video one of these days on proper technique. I think I'm using this tool correctly, given the positive results I've had up to now, but I'd certainly appreciate a demo from you. Kind regards from Canada, where it's currently -10 °C (14 °F).
@TeethTalk8 ай бұрын
yessss! I think they can be a great addition! however, sometimes it's really hard for me to convince daily brushing AND flossing ...so I never want to add on too many recommendations and overwhelm (especially in generalized format like on here). but, I have recommended stimulators to some of my one-on-one patients and they have helped them! but I always make sure proper brushing & cleaning between the teeth is happening first :) I'll def consider making a video about them :) thank you! hope this helps! and STAY WARM! it was -12 F here in Chicago a few days ago!!!

@@TeethTalkThank you so much for your reply! You have reassured me that all the time I spend using this instrument-about 10 minutes a day, almost without fail-is indeed worth it. Re the temperature in Chicago-for some reason, I assumed you lived in California! Maybe because you have such a sunny personality . . . :) Thanks again.
