I'm from St. Louis, MO and there was a place called Donut Delight that was so delicious. Now it has been sold and they are not the same anymore. But donut delight's old recipe was what I would still consider to this day the best I've had.

Washingtonian here. If you're ever in Bellingham or even just passing through Whatcom county, I urge you to make a stop into Lafeens! Their apple fritters are heaven on Earth! Crispy on the outside, chewy and fluffy in the middle. It's a wonderful place to stop in for a couple of donuts and cup of coffee in the morning. And with it being located in the woods, it's nice and quiet.

Many New Yorkers don't even know about Alimama and/ or mochi donuts because it's still relatively new or set foot in Chinatown. Close, but the much better custom made right in front of you donut a few miles down the road in , at Duck Donuts, way outshine over-rated Round Rock donuts. They also have two stores in San Antonio. I’ve been to both RR and Duck Donuts and there is no comparison. Worth a long drive just for the fact that there hot and fresh and iced to perfection. My favorite has maple, bacon and salted caramel.

I've lived in the Boston area my whole life, I have NEVER heard of Union Square Donuts. I prefer When Pigs Fly donuts. In Davis Square in Somerville. They have GREAT bread too!

Duck donuts being the popular vote for Delaware threw me for a loop! The owners of the company live and are from Pennsylvania, and the first locations were in the Outer Banks of North Carolina (first being in Duck, which is how it got its name). 😂 As someone who grew up in the 252 with these donuts, it’s amusing. As a Missourian, I must disagree 😂 There is a family business that is a donut and sand which shop. It’s called hoeckles. I went there to try some and it was the best donuts I’ve ever had and the sandwiches were pretty good too. My aunt wouldn’t stop talking about it, so that’s why I tried it. As a SW Michigander, I must give our very own Sweetwater's Donut Mill some love. Featured in Midwest Living, Saveur, and named one of the best donut shops in America by Thrillist in 2015, I feel Sweetwater's should have been a better pick for our state's best doughnut. Our area HAD a Krispy Kreme, and a few more Dunkin Doughnuts, but they just couldn't compete with Sweetwater.

For New York, you should’ve picked The donut plant. It’s owned by a guy named Mark Israel and he has some of the best donuts I’ve ever eaten. Most of the ingredients used are organic and seasonal. They have unique flavors like Meyer lemon and cashew an orange blossom.

Honestly, being from Albuquerque, New Mexico, I'd have to disagree with your pick for the best doughnut from NM. Bristol Doughnut has (in my opinion) THE BEST doughnuts I've ever tasted. Anyone traveling to Albuquerque should definitely stop by and try one from there. Their Bombolini doughnut changes flavors every month and they never disappoint.

Glazed Over in Beacon makes the best doughnuts in NY. They have a huge variety of mix and match where you get to choose any combination of any glaze, topping, and drizzle. All made just to your order, you can go in there 30 times and always leave with something different every single time. Going in the summer is also amazing, when they'll give you a custom made doughnut ice cream sandwich or doughnut sundae. Then you can go back and watch them make your doughnut perfectly fresh.
