I was asking some car tuners that I know in my area here in Sydney Australia about this almost 3 weeks ago, all three guys from different shops told me that running e85 on my totally Standard 04’ e46 M3 will be a waste of time. I was hoping they would tell me it would be a good bang for buck value of performance increase and cleaner and better for my engine. I haven’t been following you long enough to know whether your E46 M3 is standard or not. I can’t wait for your evaluation on the sports setting of the E85 and look forward to viewing more great content thank you.

Highly recommend larger injectors, high flow fuel rail w/ fpr, and upgraded fuel pump....im sure your injector duty cycle was sky high with stock injectors. I would also do an upgraded head work and cams to tie everything together.

Forgive my ignorance here, I have a e46 m3 and I’m here in the uk and always use V-Power or Synergy or some other type of super unleaded, what exactly is this kit and what would it offer me?

Hey man! #1 It would offer you the ability to run a much higher octane Here in the US e85 is roughly 105 octane. Which is as bad as close as you can get to racefield at the pump. They have been individuals with a very similar setup that I've made 20 wheel horsepower gains#2 the price difference is pretty drastic here.

Yes sir only thing that failed was my fuel pump about 8 months later. I ended up installing a e85 compatible pump from aem. Worthing excellent now

@@MeadLongbows I can't say with certainty But, on a 20 year old fuel pump it very well could have just speed of the process of the pump going out. If you are installing it on a e46 m3 you honestly would want to anyway. The AEM e85 pump was under 120$

I'm nota mechanic. But what I'm seeing around the internet is that almost all E85 conversion kits are BS. Usually you just need a reprog of the ECU to adjust timings and piggy back on the O2 sensor as it is more reliable then the fuel sensor. Again, not a mechanic just gathering info to know if I should do it or not..

Hey man this is simpley Un-true. You need a separate system to manage the ethanol content. Either by remaping the vhieciles original computer which would then only allow you to use e85 "only" or some sort of piggy back to help interpret the increase in octane. Another reason you'd would want to run a kit of some kind is fuel injector duty cycle management and monitoring. Since fuel combustion requirements are increased for the use of ethanol the amount of "flow" now required for your original fuel injectors to stay within preferred operational "duty cycle" you will need a way to maintain and monitor how hard your injectors are now working. Simply put it's like putting a 12v battery on a kids 6v power wheel. Yes it will work..but with out something to manage the increase you just asking for the eventual bad to happen. Hope this helps 🙏

I've read the same thing. I'm currently running logs that will be presented in part 2 addressing that very issue. While it is helpful to monitor the duty cycle limits having logs will go along way at addressing the very point your making. Like I said in the video.. most ppl just sail over the fine details 🙄.. that won't be happening here
