For those wondering about the kit without accessories: AR’s product description shows 533-EC128 motor (or 533-T2C2JHC depending on description vs image) and RCA3G25E-F8 pump, which at high level are the two main components but not sure where the TSS is coming into play.
@69HemiRoadrunner5 ай бұрын
Well I looked up the motor and found it listed at $540.03 and the pump listed at $346.24 Seeing they don't have the parts breakdown on the website I think the unloader from the 630 TSS would fit as the pump on that unit uses a minimatic unit part number AR22620 listed for $98.96 and going off of the AR catalog the minimatics fit the RCA pumps. The nice thing about this unit is that it includes the pressure switch. The system I am looking to assembly is using an XM pump at 3gpm, running at 1100psi on a 4hp motor and AR tech told me it would work fine. So for under $1,000 dollars you could assemble the pressure washer if you already had all of the accessories or looking to upgrade.

For those looking to buy this, I would really suggest you look at upgrading the hose … the Uber flex takes a pulse and ramp up to start, many hoses either don’t do this or have a quicker ramp up. Also you need to use a 1.7 orifice for the foam cannon, otherwise it’s a great pressure washer.

You did your math wrong there man, you weighed it, that's not "US fluid ounce" that's a "ounces" as in weight. They are not the same. 1 us fluid ounce of water weighs ~ 1.043oz... with 360 oz of weight... 1 gallon of water is ~8.345 lbs or 133.53 ounces. So the real GPM was 2.696 not 2.8125 (this is on the 5.5 orifice). (just divide his numbers, so the 360 or 370 by the 133.53 ounces to get the real gpm).

Hey, Josh. Just want to say thanks for the videos. Love them all. I know this is a great total product, but of their supplied hose reel type, I think everyone should consider the design. The transfer pipe on this reel type is made of metal that rusts internally. Most come with connectors installed. When changing one out recently, I found the entire tube lined with rust, which can only be expected to worsen over time. Just a consideration for having an inline filter possibly on the output side. Not a professional, just an old guy washing his cars.

The 20 amp plug is required due to the international electrical code. Most older houses run 14 gauge wire with a max of 15 amp draw. Taking into account the 80/20 rule, you shouldn’t be pulling more than 12 A continuous on a 15 amp breaker. New houses run 20 amps breakers but share the load with multi receptacles. So I would highly recommend a dedicated circuit for this pressure washer.
@michaelpetersen74665 ай бұрын
That weird sideways prong on the plug is a NEMA 20 amp 120 volt standard plug configuration. It is made that way so you cannot plug it into a 15 amp receptacle. If you use an adapter to do so anyways, you can damage the receptacle, breaker, and wiring in your house. Other than that I’m a big fan.

@timkinley17795 ай бұрын
I can't think of any pressure washer manufacturer that also makes the support stuff. Probably the people making the decisions on the unit aren't the same ones making the decisions on the accessories. Plus, if you're trying to sell directly to homeowners, marketing comes in to play. Shiny boxes, goofy plastics, in-store shelf space and margins become more important than the product. I wouldn't buy a pressure washer from a big box store. But 90% of all pressure washers are sold there. The pressure washer that sells the best is the one on sale... regardless of quality. Consumers don't know much. Just what they read on the box. Plus the better accessories manufacturers may not be suppliers for a particular brand. And if I want a 50' hose and a particular unit comes with a 25', then I didn't get what I wanted.

Thanks for the review as I have been eyeing this unit waiting for someone to test it as I have been looking at just building my own set up to get a more versatile electric unit. When I looked at this unit on their website they list it at 1000PSI MAX and 3GPM MAX and in their 2024 catalog they list it at 1350PSI MAX and 3GPM MAX. They list the pump and motor used to make this unit and when you look up the pump it is designed to be run at 1750RPM and they spec it at MAX 3GPM and MAX 2500PSI and they list the the motor requirement as 5.1ebhp for these specs. I would love to know why they choose this pump for this unit as they have another model in this pump series that is specked at MAX 3.5GPM, MAX 1600PSI and 3.8 ebhp motor. The only difference I see in the pumps is the piston stroke on the higher GPM unit is 1.8mm longer. They list the unit having a 2HP motor but when you look up the motor part number it comes up listed as a 1.5HP motor, curious to know what is listed on the motor plate. This pump does not seem to be working that hard generating just over 1000psi and will probably last a long time with regular maintenance. I would not try to get 2500psi out of this unit by going to smaller nozzles as the motor is just not big enough to run the pump at that pressure. You would probably trip your breaker or if the motor has thermal overload tip it. One thing I have learned while talking to both AR and General Pump is that to build a system that will get 1100-1200psi and output 3-4GPM will require a motor between 3-5HP running off of 220V. So with your measurements this unit is probably one of the best units you will be able to get that will run off of a 120v 20amp circuit. To bad they don't offer the unit without all of the accessories. Josh I heard you say something about getting an adaptor to plug this unit into a 15amp outlet, please don't due that. There is a reason they put the 20A plug on this unit. I would recommend you get a 120V 20A dedicated outlet installed in your garage for testing, just from a safety stand point.

@@MegaWeagleAfter two month of battling with them trying there fixes I was just about done with them. My unit came to me only producing 1000psi and 1.75GPM with their 3.5 nozzles, far below what they hyped during their interview with Josh. I contacted them and they send me a tech bulletin on adjusting the unloader and I set it to 1250PSI and got 1.99GPM but the unit was drawing 15.7amps at 122 volts and with their foam cannon it would draw 17.3 A on average. To get the current below 15 amps I had to go to a 4.0 nozzle but my pressure dropped all the way down to 825PSI. To use the foam cannon I would have to readjust the unloader back to 1000psi to stay under 15amp. They kept blaming the power system in the US, that I was to far from the breaker panel and to try another outlet. I have it plugged into a dedicated 15amp outlet that is about 25 feet from the subpanel in my garage. What they didn't know was I had my fluke meters hooked up to measure voltage and current and my power monitor i had hooked up tracks power usage during use. The voltage at the outlet never dropped below 121 volts so that threw their excuse of the power system being the cause. After running it set up like this it started to not start when you pulled the trigger on the gun. They didn't believe me so I had to send them a video to prove it. I tried their next fix which was to stretch the spring for the TSS. It then started tripping the GFI on their plug about every fourth trigger pull and it even tripped my breaker. When I checked my meter it showed a max current draw of 36amps during this event. I contacted them again but could not get any answers and they told me to just continue to use it until they figure out a fix, I said are you kidding me it just pulled 36 amps and tripped my breaker. So that is when I started the charge back with my credit card company. It was after this that they said they had hoped they could have worked things out and retained me as a customer. It was at this time that they told me they had the Washr Pro MKII coming out at the end of July. I asked if I would get one of the first ones to replace mine and they would not give me an answer. So I looked at the specs of the MKII and there are two different specs listed on their website one lists it as Maximum 1200PSI 1.88 GPM with 3.5 nozzles and then they also list it a 1200PSI 1.92 GPM and you now get 4.0 nozzles. They also list two different specs for the motor, they have it listed as 2000W peak in one section and 1800W peak in another section. After seeing this mess and asking what the actual specs were going to be and not getting an answer, I wanted nothing to do with a company who cannot not even get the info on their website figured out. Why would I spend this much money on a unit with these specs when I could by the AR 630 TSS for about $100 more and has better performance. I told them I was not interested in the new one so they sent me a return label as my credit card company had already refunded me the money and pulled it back from their account. When it tripped the breaker my meter showed a MAX current draw of 32.5 amps. No way was I going to continue using this thing, so I started the charge back process with my credit card company. It was not until I did this did they send me an email saying they hoped to keep me as a customer and told me about the new Washr Pro MKII coming out at the end of the month. @thomascalvin11094 ай бұрын
We always rate off "Head Pressure" only. without knowing accessories being used, it's impossible to provide exact flow and pressure. Please also note, there are a lot of variables when trying to hit actual ratings. Example; power source, water inlet conditions, nozzles sizing, length of hose all play a large part on machines performance.

another good content josh thanks, btw did u measure ur max gpm from tap directly? because a lot of manufacturers have minimum water flow from tap to achieve their claimed max gpm, but i think u must have tested it years back. i learned this because i was quite certain that my tap flow is high, but out of curiosity i tested it one day, and it was 11l/m, and my machine requires exactly 11l/m to produce 8.3l/m flow, i wasnt able to reach anywhere near 7l/m because i was using a bad hose from tap which kinks and i didnt notice.... so just wanna share
@imjoshv5 ай бұрын
Yeah with the hose I’m using it’s at almost 10 gallons

Almost any home water supply is more than enough to supply an electric unit. Output can't supercede input. If you have a 2.0 gpm output, guess how much input it uses? 2.0 gpm. Unless you have way outside of the normal water supply, you have plenty of water to run an electric consumer unit. It is just math and common sense.
@haikuancheoh24185 ай бұрын
@@timkinley1779 ya I’m surprised that max flow from tap is so high in your country. I’m my country it’s completely different. I mentioned my max tap water flow is only 11 l/m. Which can only support 8.3 l/m as per manufacturer’s guidelines. If my flow is lower than that the best outcome is low flow but worst outcome is bad pump. Just use the same logic as aquastop, when you aquastop, your pump got no water, it’ll shorten its lifespan because of lack of lubrication and higher pressure.
@haikuancheoh24185 ай бұрын
@@imjoshv wao. It’s a dream gpm tbh. I think here in Southeast Asia not one country has that flow rate from tap.

That is insane, just not for mobile guys. Replacing an outlet is easy, but maybe your local home depot doesnt sell them.
@rolandm97505 ай бұрын
You can't just "replace an outlet" by putting a 20A outlet on a 15A circuit. I mean you *could* but that would probably trip the breaker or at least hopefully it would, instead of setting the wiring on fire. And don't just say "replace the breaker with a 20A one" either lol. Any of this type of electrical malfeasance would be against code, and again have a serious risk of fire, and would likely not be covered by insurance when they find out how the fire started. The entire reason the plug has a 20A end on it, is so you can only plug it into a 20A circuit.
@mikezupancic21825 ай бұрын
@@rolandm9750 he already tests 20amp machines. So unless he's somehow running them on a 15 amp circuit, he already has a 20a breaker, so yes, it's as easy as replacing the outlet.

@eastcoastlife35475 ай бұрын

The smaller the orifice of the nozzle creates more draw on the machine meaning it will pull more amps.

VERY DANGEROUS ADVICE IN THIS VID - Bro - it's 18 amps THAT'S why it has the different plug. It's there for a reason and simply adding an adapter is NOT recommended at all. Many housing plugs AND WIRING are only rated for 15 amps. SO you putting an adapter on that plug to make it work, you're OVER STRESSING the WIRE IN YOUR WALLS. This will lead to excessive heat and can melt the insulation and eventually cause a house fire, started from within your walls. Meaning you may not even detect the fire until it's too late and there's no guarantee that a fire will happen while you're there because once the insulation on the wire is compromised a fire can start at any time. Now it does take time to melt the insulation on the wire but because it's happening inside the walls, there's no way to know if and when it's happening. Out of sight. It's far safer to make sure you're wiring is capable of handling 20 amps. This is dependent on the wire in the walls AND the distance FROM the breaker box. Don't assume just because you have 12 gauge wire that you can safely pull 20 amps, if you're too far away you'll need bigger wire. AND you have to take into account the length of the pressure washer wire also! It's extremely dangerous to simply add an adapter to "make it work".

Josh’s garage may be wired like mine. I have a 20 amp dedicated circuit with a 20 amp breaker, but the receptacle is a standard 15 amp receptacle. I’m not sure if that is a code violation or not, but it was done by the builder and inspected by the township electrical inspector. And if I’m not mistaken I have several appliance circuits wired the same way.
@jontnoneya34045 ай бұрын
@@OldDetailer - So stepping down isn't an issue because that won't over stress the wire AND it may have been done for a very specific reason. You may have a 20 amp breaker but do you know the wire used to make the runs to the outlets? Can they handle a single 20 amp load? Do you know how far away the outlet is? Do you know how many receptacles you have on that circuit? You may have 3 or more receptacles on a circuit so the max draw for the circuit is 20 amps but that doesn't mean each receptacle can handle a 20 amp load. The bottom line is those plugs are different FOR A REASON and just because you CAN ADD AN ADAPTER to make it work DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD add an adapter to make it work.
@OldDetailer5 ай бұрын
@@jontnoneya3404 I understand and agree with everything you’ve said. I was simply making the point that a 15 amp receptacle doesn’t mean it isn’t a twenty amp circuit. I don’t plan to buy anything that won’t run on 15 amp circuitry, but if I did I would confirm the wire size and the breaker, and then I would replace the receptacle with a 20 amp receptacle so I wouldn’t need a plug adaptor.
@jontnoneya34045 ай бұрын
@@OldDetailer - yep same. The only reason I was so pedantic is to help anyone who's not familiar with electricity to know that it's a MUCH more complicated issue than shown in this vid.

When making these videos, you should include the times that it shouldn't be swapped for a lower 1.1mm orifice, like if you're using a high psi gas pressure washer or a higher gpm electric pressure washer like an Active, AR, etc. Using those style washers, you'd want to keep using the larger 1.25mm orifice to avoid any current spikes that may trip 15amp breakers.
