Nice to see some coverage of the "small wheeled wonders". I have been a fan since your Moulton video on "Will it Gravel". It has been fun learning how to ride a 20 inch wheel bike on the rough stuff. Obviously not for the pointy end of the race if you want to do well but more a challenge for a fun weekend to keep riding interesting.

@drill_fiend1097Ай бұрын
@@wuzihuziit is still very rare in cars, and most just have power assisted steering with actual physical connection (or clutched mechanism for very rare selection of luxury cars) The only one that truly has it is the Tesla FridgeTruck. Though, steer by wire is a necessity for airplanes and ships.

I brake by wire and it’s never failed. I even brake by fluid.
@plissk3n1337Ай бұрын
So I think there is a misunderstanding here. The cago bike has a "steer by wire" method where the fork is mechanically connected via steel cables for steering. Steer by wire is a term known from aviation though, where it means that there is no mechanical connection but everything is done electronically.
@nbartlett6538Ай бұрын
@@plissk3n1337 Yes that latter meaning is what I thought was being referred to here. But it's evident that others understood it differently (e.g. the other commenter who said he has "brake by wire"). It's definitely an ambiguous term.

Ma favourite cargo bike is the speedy Schoof & Jensen Doubledecker , which is a bit like Cago CS bike with an upper front rack and a lower rack. The lower rack folds up, the upper rack is fixed on a rail and can be taken away. The handle bar can be turned sideways, et voilà the bike can be easily put in a garage, corridor, or even in the apartment. It is totally slim. Both front racks are eurobox standard size 60x40. You can also get a lockable aluminium box for the upper rack and of course you an use a normal cargo rack on the rear. Everyone and anyone will find his or her drivetrain, because everything is possible: no engine, Pinion, belt, chain, rear derailleur, hub gearbox, Bosch motor, Shimano motor, whatever you fancy. I realise I sound like a sales guy, though I live in the same beautifull coastal city of Flensburg, next to the Danish border. But I have not yet met the guys. Hopefully soon.

Interesting tech finds, but I see that you are still struggling with the proper metaphor to differentiate a bicycle with one that has motor assist? Analog/Acoustic isn't cutting it. Mixing your metaphors is tedious for your audience and speaking quickly isn't preferable to speaking clearly.
