Can someone explain why this helps and what it helps? I don’t get it. I get the HIIT part…
@astroporpoise7802
@astroporpoise7802 2 жыл бұрын
@@nancymcclymont2858 Hi, it's just an example of sprint interval training (SIT) that you can do at home. Their example was to do 30 seconds of band running/dancing, then take a 30-second break. Do this at least 5 times for a 5-minute workout, and then work your way up to 10 minutes, 15, and higher over time. This helps because the intensity is high for short bursts really pounding your cardiovascular system and helping with heart health, also if done for longer periods of time (10, 20, 30), it burns calories and helps with fat loss. Hope this helps. Have a nice day :)
@astroporpoise7802
@astroporpoise7802 2 жыл бұрын
More specifically, the band really makes you work since you have to both lift your knees high and fast while fighting against the resistance of the band--especially if you move farther away from the wall. Also, as Brad showed, if you place the band higher on your torso, around the chest and under your arms, your abdominals really get worked too.

in doing HIIT, the point is to be going at an all out pace for the 30 sec, like a sprint, or on an exercise bike (I prefer the Schwinn airdyne that lets you work the arms and legs) then take a short rest, 30-120 sec, and then repeat. just doing an exercise for 30 sec and then rest for 30 sec doesnt make it HIIT. If you can do more than 4 cycles of exercise/rest, then you are not doing the exercise part hard enough.

HIIT is supposed to exhaust you..full intensity @90% of full intensity and rest completely so you can go again until you are exhausted. If you can do it for more than 15 minutes your not challenging yourself enough...it's not HIIT when it's 30 sec on and 30 sec off. It's just interval training....in my opinion and also science lol

Good exercises to incorporate into my bike rides. Specifically bought a house in a neighborhood with our own bike-trail head. Along the way there are parks and rest stops where I can do these kinds of exercises. And the nature of my bicycle, a 29" BMX Cruiser being a single speed, kind of forces me to sprint, climb, and coast. So I think it's the bicycle equivalent of going out and doing sprints. I have very good BP and heart rate even though I'm packing 40 lbs of extra fat. Great idea with the resistance bands! I'm slowly getting back into running. And this seems like a good way to slowly get into it without getting hurt.

You guys are great. I thought that I was the goofiest middle-aged physical therapist on the planet but.... If a person is already in fairly good shape, I like Pavel’s version of interval training with shorter, more intense exercise intervals and longer rest periods: Max or near max intensity for about 10 seconds with a 50-60-second active recovery (rest). Exercises may include sprinting, jumping rope, or kettlebell swings.

If youre not so much into HIT, and all your looking to do is loose weight the best thing to do is go on a low-carb diet meaning salat without corn etc.etc and a chicken-filet f.eks. Then you train yourself up to walking long trips. LIT actually burns fat, as fat is slow metabolisem whereas HIT burns carbs wich is fast metabolisem. Buy some walking-sticks and start walking. Get some fresh air while doing it. Just my personal theory. Not to be taken too seriously

I'm kind of New to lower back, hip, and stiff left leg when walking. I'm now the guy that my family has to wait for when we are walking pretty much anywhere. I DONT WANT TO BE THAT GUY. Someone turned me on to this channel, they seem like they're pretty awesome. Some days I have zero to very slight pain. And some days it's hard for me to get 150 ft to the mailbox and back without having to stop a couple of times. My pain gets progressively worse the further I walk until I stop and rest for a minute or two, then I can keep going until the next wave. Looking for some uninvasive relief where acetaminophen and ibuprofen don't seem to be working. I went to a doctor and they gave me some methylprednisolone. And it seems to be working some but I only have two more days to take it and I don't see it just going away in that span of time. So again I hope I can find something on here that will help me through my day

You guys are a hoot! Love it! Hard stuff for an old guy like me with, though, with 2 shot knees, 2 shot sacros, 2 shot carpometacarpals, a shot coccyx, and severe degenerative disc disease. And all thanks to a yellow fever vaccine 10 years ago.
