You're wrong about Heart being huge in the early 80s. They had Bebe le Strange (1980), which didn't go platinum, only gold. Their albums Private Audition (1982) and Passionworks (1983) didn't even go gold. Their poor sales resulted in them being dropped from their record label.

Just think about the physical dynamics of singing, and how effortless Ann makes it seem. When she sings the line, "...my love the pleasure's mine...", and Takes.a.Bow....👀😮 The folded torso compresses the diaphragm...yet she STILL belts it smoothly and powerfully. Amazing. #Meow
@Faltor895
@Faltor895 Жыл бұрын
In parts, but other parts she has to take a breath. This seems like an incredibly hard song to sing though, with so many vocal twists and turns. She seems most comfortable when she can belt the pre-chorus and chorus. The verses are tougher.

There is such a short list for greatest female rock vocalist all-time. Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Tina Turner, Debbie Harry (Blondie), Terri Nunn (Berlin "take my breath away"), Dolores O'Riordan (Zombies), Alanis Morissette...Cant forget her sister Nancy Wilson who actually sang lead in their only #1 hit "These Dreams"... but ANN WILSON just has the total package. Her voice in this song and even during the song of theirs called "Alone" when she belts out that high note "alone" WHEW!! My fav are Alanis, Pat, and Ann

😊❤ Hi guys! 😅 I have always loved Heart!! I lived in the NW so they were huge! Ann does have one of the best all time voices!! ❤ However, Nancy, the little bad ass on guitar can do more than sing back up. She sang lead on their 1st #1hit 'These Dreams' (and several more over time on their various albums) 😮😅. I went to the reopening of a race track in the Seattle area. I was privileged to be able to hear Ann sing the Star Spangled Banner, acapella, and I was standing on the rail of the winners circle and Ann was standing in the middle of the winners circle. And I was about 20 feet from her! Unbelievable! Ann was standing there using what looked like a simple microphone, normally used for announcements and it was perfect, just gorgeous!! 😊❤❤

My favorite live performance by Heart. Huge stage, outside, perfect atmosphere, fresh breeze in their faces, blowing their hair backwards, dark stage with only Nancy illuminated for her signature Silver Wheels, looking so cool, so hot, cavalierly casting her pick aside, crouching down like something big is going to happen, then kicking out and rushing forward, going totally wild as she is still alone and starts the opening strums of Crazy on you, and then the whole band joins in, seeming to come out of nowhere as the stage is illuminated. And that's just how it starts! I'm not going to deny, Nancy's sexy stage presence and theatrics are my favorite part. But, it's all good, so good!

That woman sure can sing, that's just fantastic live. No auto-tune and just 1970s technology. And yeah Nancy could totally rock. I remember when this Dreamboat Annie album came out and I went and bought it and it was one of the few albums that my younger sister and I both really like equally. One of the others being Hair of the Dog by Nazareth. But at any rate, I learned the acoustic guitar solo at the beginning which leads right into Crazy On You, and it was so fun to play once I figured it out. But I had never seen this particular clip before and she lengthens it by at least a minute or two with a lot of cool extra stuff in the middle. And then I love how she leads into the main song, she's just so fierce, laugh.

Brad and Lex, your music reaction videos are great! Don't know if you've covered any of these artists before, but as both Jeff Beck and David Crosby passed away a few months ago, you might consider reacting to some of their work. Jeff Beck is considered one of the greatest guitarists , up there with Hendrix and Eric Clapton. He started off in The Yardbirds in the ' 60s and does an interesting psychedelic guitar solo on "Shapes of Things," also, as a solo artist on "Beck's Bolero!" David Crosby was in The Byrds, and then Crosby, Stills, Nash. For the Byrd you could check out "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and for Crosby, Stills, and Nash you could check out "Woodstock."

Yes indeed the sisters Wilson, Ann and Nancy did write Crazy on You! The song as I remember is about being so into someone that you forget the outside world while you're in the bedroom and otherwise engaged....😘

Just perfect singing without autotune, without that moaning all singers seem to need to do these days, and singing powerful without sounding shouty. Ann Wilson was phenomenal.

Heart did write this song and many others in the 70s and early 80s but the record company in the mid 80s wanted outside writers to write guaranteed hits for radio and MTV.

This is "almost" as good as when I saw them in late 77 or early 78 Little Queen tour in Portland Oregon. The radio version of this song is much shorter, when Nancy starts playing the first minute of the song nobody made a sound, we had absolutely no idea what was coming in a few seconds. When the familiar part starts EVERYBODY starts screaming as loud as they can. One of the key moments in one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

This song has a great story to it. Written during the time of the Vietnam war. The world around them seemed like it was falling apart with so many young soldiers dying. Making love with her man was a way to escape all the horrors of the time. Lyrics are awesome as well as the voice and instruments. ❤
