Just an FYI. When I ordered my C8 I added splash guards to the build. They are identical to these XL splash guards that RPI and Corvettes mods is selling except mine didn't come painted and they were half the cost. I ordered black XL splash guards from RPI after watching this video. When I removed my OEM guards and put them side by side with the XL painted ones I saw the only difference was the RPI XL guards were painted. I was surprised to learn I had XL guards from factory all along.

GM must have changed their design then because they were nowhere near as big as the RPI designs one at one point.

My 2022 C8 HTC build was to include the OEM Splash Guards, but they were on constraint. So, prior to delivery I looked into various offerings. I settled with the ACS Rock Guards. IMHO, they were a little pricey for “Mud Flaps” at $528 with our PA Tax included. My C8 was held at the dealership in the showroom until Blackout Tinting could transport it to their Latrobe, PA location for the PPF & Ceramic Coating. They were kind enough to install the Rock Guards at my request. I know you have a great relationship with Blackout Tinting and with your recommendation, that’s why they got my business! (Relationship so good, you’re now part owner of the Hollywood Florida Shop) I was very thankful with the work of they performed. Got to meet Aaron and Isaiah at the dealership for the initial pick up and again at the return delivery to my house. Still considering some additional work to protect the door sill and kick plates that seem to be prone to getting scuffed up by shoes. May also think about windshield protection.

Another good video. Just to be clear though HPO's C8 has the base guards which are flush as we saw, but GM does offer front & rear splash guards as a $250 option, which do stick out. With that said, GM's optional guards appear to only stick out about half as much as these do. For stock wheels/tires I think the GM option would be fine, but for aftermarket wheels/tires that stick out further, such as on this C8, these aftermarket ones (or similar) are probably the way to go.

I have rubbing issues when the wheel is turned specially when using the z51 front lift after installing paragon 20mm spacers since I love the stock wheels but wanted a flush fit. Not sure if you ran to a similar problem with the aftwrmarket wheels with a more agressive offset. By any chance are these the same thickness as the stock splashguards? I am looking for a thinner splashguard alternative to give the wheel a little more clearance & thinner guards would be the best solution. Hope to hear from you thanks

@@HorsePowerObsessed I see you have aftermarket wheels and tires. The rear tire I can see is 315/30/20. What is the rim width? I cannot see the tire markings for the front in the video. What is your front tire and what rim width do you have? The reason I am curious is a major tire vendor warned me that only 315/30/20 R and 255/35/19 F would fit as oversize tires on stock wheels without rubbing. I would like 305/35/20 R and 235/40/19 F to get more sidewall to reduce some ride harshness that is hurting my back (I am 72 and will definitely NOT be going to the track in my Corvette, so pulling lateral G's is not a priority). The 305/35/20 has a 0.45 inch greater radius than the 315/30/20 R that you have (and 0.6 inch greater radius than stock) and the 235/40/19 has a quarter inch greater radius than the 255/35/19 that major tire vendor recommended (but I don't know what you have), and 0.45 inch greater radius than the stock 235/35/19 F. This major tire vendor also advised that just getting rid of the run-flat tires would improve the comfort level noticeably. Has that been your experience? I have the 'optional' Chevrolet splash guards that stick out the sides a bit more than the original, but they have this bulbous protrusion that sticks into the wheel well and could rub. So my questions are, if your rear tire was a half inch greater radius than the 315/30/20 you have now, how much clearance would remain, and if the front tire radius was 0.45 inch greater than the stock 235/35/19 or a quarter inch greater than the 255/35/19 that you might have, how much clearance remains? Studying your video closely, it appears that the these splash guards look to have less protrusion into the wheel well than the Chevrolet 'optional' splash guards that I have, and a quarter inch might give me all the extra clearance I want, so I am eager to try them. Also, does just getting rid of the run-flats give such a significantly smoother ride with the sizes you have mounted presently on your car such that I don't need to worry about tight tolerances or taking risks of rubbing and wheel well damage, and just go with the advice of major tire vendor? Thanks so much.
