We agree - overated x10 - was SO looking forward to Giovannis Shrimp. We ordered one of each shrimp dishes and were TOTALLY underwhelmed and disappointed - this is it? We persevered and ate half but threw the rest in the bin. No idea why the crazy hype about this place - they should get much better shrimp recipes there are LOTS!

You need to try our crepes food truck, the North Shore Crepes Cafe in Haleiwa. Best dessert crepes on the island. We also have iced coffee.

Yes, it's Mike's huli huli chiken at the Kahuku sugar mill. There is another place that is amazing for huluhulu chicken - Mike's Fire Roatsted chicked in Kailua and Wahiawa. It sound similar but it taste way different

I recently ate the garlic shrimp scampi at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck and it was so delicious. I heard the spicy shrimp tasted too much like tabasco and the lemon butter didn't sound appealing to me. If you love garlic though, the garlic shrimp scampi is worth trying.

Hello!! I love this channel btw ❤️ I just came to say for everyone that's interested, that in Mexico we do eat corn like that but it's different. It's white corn (extremely IMPORTANT hahahaa), with butter, mayonnaise, chili powder or sauce, cotija cheese and lime juice, that's just the classic you can have it many different ways. And you can have your corn asado(charboiled) or cocido (boiled) just like Devon said. And it's ooooooooh so delicious!!! According to which state in Mexico you're visiting you'll find different ways to eat corn and also different names for it. I hope this was helpful 😊 we're always on an on going feud between states of how it should really be eaten AND CALLED but I'm sure you'll love it anywhere. 😊 Mahalo for sharing!! The Best Food Truck in all Hawaii is on the road to Hana called Braddah Hutts BBQ, right after Kaihalulu Beach (Red Sand Beach).

Anything you add garlic to would taste better. There are other places with amazing garlic shrimp so we think it's not worth it to stay in line for 1.5h just for a lunch plate. We are not fans for Leonard's either.

@@MontanaGMama Leonard's food truck is not good, go to their original location brick & mortar shop close to Waikiki (get the original malasadas, and maybe 1 or 2 li hing mui flavor) but get the original at least half a dozen for yourself!

Like Giovanni's, Leonard's is Over-hyped...IMO. Whenever have a craving for malasada-type pastries, much rather prefer Kilani Bakery, Pa'ala'a Kai Bakery or Kamehameha Bakery. And if you're craving for shrimp, in general, Jenny's Shrimp Truck/Big Wave Shrimp are right across the street from each other, in Haleiwa=Better tasting +shorter lines

We agree with you guys about the Giovannis Shrimp Truck in Kahuku - 1 star maximum! We ordered one of each of the boiled shrimp dishes and we were TOTALLY underwhelmed and disappointed with them all - why they get SO much hype is beyond us. We ate half and threw the rest in the bin. Zero infusion of any actual flavours, tastes or spices - just meh... Service was akin to a Seinfeld 'Soup Nazi' experience. Hot/Spicy shrimp - simply VERY 'chilli sauce' hot - but no actual 'flavours'/spices - tasteless 0/5 Garlic shrimp - simply very strong garlic - but no actual 'flavours'/spices - tastless 1/5 Lemon Butter Shrimp - simply strong butter - but no actual 'flavours'/spices - tasteless 1/5 Note: All shrimp only come with the shell on - so the 'taste' you get is only on the shell itself not on the shrimp meat inside. Thanks for the honest review guys - glad to know your experience was the same as ours. :)

I went to Giovannis shrimp a few days and I was so exited to eat the food there because of the videos I have seen and the good reviews and the most famous dish is “garlic shrimp” I really did not enjoy it in my opinion nether did my daughter and my husband liked it.

That food truck is the most popular on the island that is why the line takes over an hour. We do not have to like overly hyped truck. Kahuku does have the best food trucks.
