*Check the links in the description for current pricing and availability!* *NOTE: We are aware HP is now using an alternative panel in the X27Q. Very slightly worse but still best value budget 1440p for $210.* What Gaming Monitor Resolution and Refresh Rate will your next monitor be? Tell your story in a new comment!

Hi buddy, I am planning to upgrade my am4 gaming pc to the new generation. Atm I am using a asus hero 8 non WiFi with 5900x. I'll be probably replacing 3 parts. Mobo, cpu and ram. Which is better Amd or Intel. Wanna go for amd but reluctant to buy it coz of the temp. Intel cpu is ok I guess. Would love to hear your advise on this ty.

Also a quick note, for people who like first person shooters I’d stay away from va panels since they tend to smear more than ips panels. They’re great for color contrast but when you need to do fast flick motions in esports titles they’re not ideal. Ips is the way to go for fps gamers in my opinion. Va panels on the high end the smearing issues are often mitigated pretty well.

As someone that just purchased a new BenQ EX2710Q monitor in the last few months. I'm highly impressed. I have had Asus, Samsung, and an LG monitor before and IMO, this one is the best that i have had. I was actually debating between the LG 850 that you mention in the video and the BenQ but when I was researching both of them, Most reviewers recommended going with the benq over the LG and they were only about 10$ difference at that time. Best monitor I have seen visually for 1440p. I don't think it should be in the budget category for 1440p.

Very comprehensive, beautifully done guide. Recently bought 2x (HUGE) 32" 1440p 165hz MSI AG321CQR for black Friday for only $250 each. Despite the lack of USB-A ports to run my LED strips and monitor bar I'm happy with them. Coming from my 27" 1080p 144hz MSI MAG271C (little fuzzy at that resolution and size). For anyone reading this, 32" may have been a little big, especially 2 lol. I do feel a 27" 1440p monitor is the sweet spot for what my opinion is worth.

32" isn't really huge. Then again, I went from 23" to 32" years ago. I got my current monitor in early 2021. 32", 1440p, 165 Hz, IPS panel by Samsung, branded by Monoprice. I paid $320 at the time. It's going for $250 on their website now. I wished I could've found something with a more recognizable name brand, like MSI, and a better monitor stand, but the monitor itself is serving me well enough. The aftermarket stand I got off of Amazon is better, but not by much. I would love to see what two 32" monitors would look like on my desk, but I'm afraid that my desk just doesn't have that kind of real estate available. (I doubt two 27" monitors would fit.) I'm willing to bet that it is pretty awesome.

I have the same monitor but curved and like the size and the curve. If you’re saying that 4K would be better for a 32”, I agree and if I had to go back I’d get the 4K version even with my 3070ti because at least older games I can still run 4K and when I upgrade GPU later I wouldn’t really need a new monitor whereas I will want to upgrade this one later.

I learned recently that I NEED a curved display. A few weeks ago I was in the market to replace my monitor. I wanted to upgrade to something to take more advantage of the 4080 I bought. I had been using a medicore ultrawide 3440x1440 and a decent MSI gaming monitor 1440/165 (Optix MAG274QRF-QD) as my secondary. I told my friend I was in the market to buy a new monitor, and he offered to buy my old ultrawide for 400 (I paid 500 for it), so I sold it before I could figure out what main monitor I wanted. Which means I got to rock my Optix MAG274QRF-QD for about two weeks as my primary display while I was shopping around. I learned a few things being forced to switch monitors for two weeks. All personal things, but here's what I experienced. I learned that I didn't need ultrawide, and in a lot of situations, I enjoyed the standard display size. It was nice not having my UI skewed radically to the edges of my screen in most games. I learned that 165 FPS is awesome, and having the 4080 push it made me for sure want my new monitor to handle it. I learned that I NEED a curved monitor, as the MSI wasn't curved, and even though it was only a 27" panel, I often found myself frustrated as I moved my head around and the edges just felt wrong. It's like when you put on your shoes weird or sit down funny, and you get that obviously "wrong feeling," but it's hard to describe. On top of that. I'd hit the viewing angle funny every so often and I could see drastic and noticeable color shifts from the VA panel. I had narrowed my choices down to two monitors, the Samsung Neo G7 4k monitor, and the Alienware DWF ultrawide OLED one. My biggest concern at first was that I really wasn't sure I wanted to go back to ultrawide, as I had gotten quite used to the standard size of the 27" panel very easily, and I was quite comfortable with it. But thinking about how much I fucking hate VA panels and those viewing angles drive me nuts. Though the Neo G7 supposedly has a nice curve to it. It wasn't until I talked to some more folks discussing the customer service between Samsung and Dell that really cemented my decision. Apparently Samsung is a pita to get through, but Dell seems to leave lots of happy customer's in its wake. Now I'm older, and I have more disposable income. I'd pay more money for warranties and peace of mind. I don't want drama. I want solved problems. I got enough other things to worry about. All of this is to say that I decided to go with the Alienware DWF OLED. They have great customer service, and a 3 year warranty on the OLED burn-in. I'm very, very pleased with the quality of an OLED display, the viewing angles make me happy beyond joy. All the colors are great. There's no fade. The curve is wonderful. I do wish it were standard size though. Maybe one day. ---------- The reason I like the viewing angles is because I'm a skinny fidgety person. So I'm always rocking my chair around and leaning and swaying in different direction. I'm not a static statue that can keep the same position for hours on end. Sometimes when I read my screen I'm laying against the armrest of my chair and my head is on the far left or right side of the monitor viewing it from an angle. Now I can see the whole screen, perfect colors every time. I will never not use an Oled again for my primary display. As for reading text or color fringing? I don't know. I just typed a fuck ton of paragraphs here, and used my OLED. It seemed fine. I didn't notice a difference or issues. I've been reading reddit and facebook just fine on it for a few weeks too. I never noticed any issues. There are really no downsides except for the "potential" burn in, and even if I ONLY got 3 years out of it for a 1,100 bucks, I'll consider it fine. I replace my phone once a year. I'm sure I can find money to replace a monitor every 3 years.

Once again, your advice proved useful Jason! I just picked up the Gigabyte M32U and WOW, what a fantastic monitor. Gaming in 4K with 144Hz and the color this thing has is just awesome! My games look fantastic and my 6800XT has that great FreeSync option with it if needed, and so far the games that I play look fantastic. The built-in KVM is great for me since I also have a secondary older PC that I'm turning into a retro gaming box. I only have a PS4 for console gaming now, but when I'm ready for that PS5 upgrade, I know that this monitor with its HDMI 2.1 will deliver that 120Hz framerate with no issues. On the european market there is also a japanese brand - iiyama, which has a great value for money. They used to produce only office monitors, but recently they started to make really good gaming monitors too - red eagle series. For example iiyama red eagle gb2770qsu is basically a LG 27GP850-B with better contrast (around 1200:1), better brightness (around 500cd/m2) and costs around 40 euro less. It's a pity, that this brand isn't widely available on the US market and it's not that popular. It could be a great competitor for other brands.

Any advise/comments appreciated.... Asus TUF Gaming VG32AQA1A? cant find any review... Thinking of getting this for my bedroom and using it with my older 1070 pc+switch. Mainly for movie/serie-viewing, some gaming. The hdr seems usable at least, just an added option. I like options. I really need a va panel for me atm for now. Need those blacks/contrast and cant stand ipsglow.. cant go back to ips after using a va/oled(c1) for years. Think flat will be best because viewing distance will be about 180cm/70 inches away, lying in bed. Advise? Should i just get it? around 350euro seems like great value. Gigabyte G32QC seems like another option, but curved, so not sure..and the asus is a lot newer.

Asus is generally a safe bet when buying a monitor. I couldn't really find any reviews for the VG32AQA1A monitor either, but it's probably because it's fairly new. Personally I'd stay away from VA for gaming (motion blur, artifacts, etc.), but you mentioned you've used a VA panel in the past and prefer it over IPS, so you probably know what to expect anyways. It looks like a decent monitor, especially for that price. The Gigabyte monitor looks pretty good too, and RTings gave it a decent rating. But if you're sitting that far away from your monitor, you may have issues with the curve affecting the viewing angles of the VA panel. I've never had a curved VA monitor before though so I can't really speak from experience on that particular issue. I'd recommend looking at RTings first though before you make a purchase just to get a better idea of what's out there. You may end up going with the monitors you mentioned, or you may find something you like even more.

@@tylerelyt ty nice response. ill wait for more info on the asus VG32AQA1A. If i wont get any, i may just go buy it or i will get a LG 32GN600-B (same as 650, but cheaper stand). It seems these are my only options for my user case.

I bought the Gigabyte 28" 4K 144hz monitor back in November and it's the most incredible monitor I have ever used. I use it for my ps5 and just use default settings mostly and it kicks ass. Great color, great frames, and there's some great customization if you don't like the default settings. Easy 10/10 monitor and I would HIGHLY recommend this monitor if you're looking to upgrade for your ps5 to take advantage of the 4K + 120hz capability.

Love the review. For me I went with 2 Samsung G9's and then had to get a heavy duty stand in order for them to be on top of one another. I get 240 on bottom, and 144 on top. It works awesome and most of my games get 65-80 fps. A few might have hit 45-55 but I just turn off the top monitor and boom, back to high FPS. In my setup, I use the 2 monitors on one pc for work, graphic designs, then of course gaming. The top monitor I use it as a second to my home server, my laptop or my iPad pro at times. And the HDMI is on a matrix so anything on the HDMI will go to that top monitor and to my 65 led tv in the office. Both monitor DP connection go to my main PC. Man, this works for me. It all depends on what you need and want.

@@PCBuilderChannel LOL. Well, its pretty. cool setup for sure. I was not expecting to spend $480 on a stan tho. I had a 6 monitor setup before and thought it would work. These monitors are heavy. Made sense to get one that would work and made for them. Best setup I have ever had. It's different though being on a curved with all the space. The good is to use powertoys and lock your windows in spaces. Really helps. BUT like all 6 I had, I still lose the mouse from time to time. LOL
