In my view , the advantage of single length irons lies in the wide zone of approach full shots into the green you get while using the same swing. All I have to do is lay up 80-130 m out and I feel confident I will get it close.

I played single length irons for a few years. I didn't find the different setup idea to be their best selling point. I felt it was more a confidence thing. I felt I could hit a 5 iron as well as a pitching wedge. I do set up differently to flight the ball. I could never get use to the longer wedges though. Used conventional gw, sw and lw.
@SimplifyYourSwing2 жыл бұрын
There’s nothing wrong with that. There’s definitely a confidence aspect to it as well. But you’re not the first that’s gone to conventional wedges. I’ve even toyed with the idea, and seeing as the Edel SMS are so appealing but only come in the traditional length, I’ve not ruled out testing those either
@ndragon88 Жыл бұрын
Do you have to setup the same for all the wedges too? That would feel so weird if I couldn't put that in middle of feet
@pgowan357 Жыл бұрын
@@ndragon88 for stock shots with single length wedges you set up the same as you would for a 7 iron on all irons. (Or what ever iron they are built to)

Hi Craig. Just watched your video and having bought a set of single length irons 3 months ago; after over 30 years of conventional irons, the theory I totally agree with. It hasn’t all been plain sailing but I will stick with it. I have been a single figure handicap for 10 -15 years but at 73 I’ve sneaked up to 13. Having watched quite a lot of your previous videos I finished up buying a 5-PW set of Pinhawk irons. The reviews were good and they were half the price of Cobra irons. Having just read the comments from another subscriber about the cost of the Edel irons I am looking forward to your video on the different make of irons out there most of which I have reviewed. I must admit if he is right that they cost 2500 dollars for a set that is outrageous. All the best my friend( from a U.K. subscriber.)P.S. I’ve also started to adopt a single plane swing which together with the single length irons has been a challenge. I’ve noticed that you have done a video on the single plane swing which I will watch later.

Thanks Mike! Welcome to the single length world. The PinHawks are a quality set and you should develop well with them. And you’re correct, I do use a single plane swing, and in fact, have now developed my own system that I teach and have online classes with. If you ever have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

How did/are you getting on with the pinhawks? I'm about to buy some SL irons and the Pinhawks are at the top of my list because I can customise the length to suit me. I was looking at the SL Hybrids too but they say not to get them if you hit a 6 or up 150 yards already

Hi Craig! Will you be releasing a 2022 version of the Iron options that are out there? Saw a couple of brands on Amazon (Mazel, Orlimar) that weren't on last year's video. Or are there mostly the same options this year as there was last year? Either way would love to see an update video!

Absolutely. I try and do one every year, and this year is no different. I hope to have it out this week actually, as I’m hoping to film tonight or tomorrow.

The biggest problem with SL is the 5,4, 3 irons and the swing speed necessary to effectively use these in your game. I love the idea and am a beginner but do you feel a 7 iron length swung at 75mph is enough to launch a 3 iron edel club?
@SimplifyYourSwing2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. If the design and build is proper with single length, then the same swing speed works across all the irons. The club takes care of the distance and adjustment. I have 0 issues with launch and distance while swinging every club exactly the same speed with same setup.

@@SimplifyYourSwing Thank you for the quick feedback. I think I am going to go for a set of used Edels. Thinking 85 shaft with 10 flex. This is only my second year of golf but I can't get past the multiple lie angels on the cobra F sets.

A beginner shouldn’t have 14 clubs. I think single length has a place, they weren’t for me. But I think most beginners should be playing a 4-6 club set. Way of the playa!

But $2500 for edel iron are just too much, not like u get 4x better performance than cobra, 1iron, wishon, or any forged SL.
@SimplifyYourSwing2 жыл бұрын
They may not be a fit for everyone in terms of pricing. There are definitely other options out there, and you hit some of the best. From my testing, they are the bar that the others are reaching for. On the other hand, they really want a fitting to order them. And I’ve had many friends get for recently for all the top brands in variable length (Titleist, Taylormade, Ping), and once you get the right shaft, not stock, and all the proper customs, those prices are all in line with Edel.
