I don’t care how cheap Amazon gets on Ham equipment. I will pay more at HRO or another brick and mortar store that I can walk into and get advice and help. Promoting amazon is hurting the hobby.

I have the ICOM 7300 it is a 4 pin molex style plug. I make my own cables up. I start with 12 AWG then go to 10 AWG and wrapp threw a FT 240-31 ferrite into 2 heavy duty 10 AWG ATC fuse holders into power poles with the 45 amp contacts. Get less voltage drop and helps with noise from DC power like a MPPT controller. That QT 60 is the Anytone AT 5555 N II is replaced with the QT 60 PRO now. may be old stock but I have that radio and it is great. 10/11/12 meters ! If you go with the QT 80 you get 12/11/12/15 meters CW and 80 watts ! All the newer Baofeng UV-5R type are testing clean now. And have USB C on battery ! Baofeng UV-5R sold more radios than any outher radio in the world ! I do not cry if I drop my baofeng or if it falls of a mountain doing SOTA . I have a FCC legal GMRS one and it is great ! 73

I have an RT95 and it's a very good radio, nice clean sound. You can program it without a PC if you want and it's not tooo hard to do. I use it on a bench with a 12v battery and attached to a GP93 colinear on the roof of the house.

I grabbed the RT-95 a week or so ago, and love it. Transmits pretty clean, and haven’t had issues. If you unlock the extra channels you’ll have to reprogram it though. Ran into that yesterday.

I picked one up a few months ago and if you unlock it to mode 02, it will accept all of the other services' freqs that you would like to be able to receive and even talk to in an emergency. My shack is set up for emmcom and the RT-95 is scanning for the radios people have lying around in the U.S; FRS/GMRS/MURS/Marine, the old color dot and star frequencies, local utilities, etc. Very useful and only $100.

These “Special sale days” will impress me when they offer me things I’ve been looking at at a reduced price. Something like a base station antenna, a decent mobile antenna, true brand accessories like speakers or microphones, UHF/SMA connectors. On these findings the only thing with a big name is a chinisium knockoff microphone branded Yaesu but it’s pure junk. I bought one and sent it back the next day. You can buy a Tri-Band mobile unit, but not a Tri-Band mobile or base antenna, I wonder if anyone makes one. Amazon is becoming another Wise or Temu, all it does is feed dollars to China.

What country are you in? Get some GMRS radios, decide amongst yourselves on a channel to use, preferably one with the most power allowed. Set everybody's radios to the same CTCSS tones and your set. If theirs any distance beyond 5 miles you will want to use external antennas up on a roof, and will need radios capable of hooking an external antenna cable to it. MANY ON THE MARKET HAVE REMOVABLE ANTENNAS. if you need more distance buy rigs that put out more watts. Also you can buy repeaters, cheap simplex repeaters or more expensive real time duplex repeaters.

Bad idea promoting radios sold on Amazon. Yes, I prefer the "high end" radios, as you know. Too many cheap & nasty radios out there being sold by Temu, Amazon, & other online stores. If I have a problem with my gear, I'll ring the seller during business hours, & ask him. You being a ham radio operator in Australia, SHOULD be promoting AUSTRALIAN businesses that sell ham radio equipment. I buy from Strictly Ham in Melbourne. I've never had an issue. Ross has always treated me well. Every ham radio I own was bought from him, & his service has been brilliant. With Amazon, they really should not be selling anything to do with ham radio.
