At home standing for cooking half day made me heel spur. I have heel spur for past 3 years. It has become so much that if I stand for sometime for cooking my calf muscle starts to hurt. Pls suggest what should I do
@Nonsense-hw9hr3 жыл бұрын
I have sever heel pain and can’t bend my toes back. in the morning I can’t walk it hurts so I walk on the outter part of my feet and soak them in warm water then stretch. My calves cramp almost everyday and are super tight. I use icy hot, ice packs, warm packs, bought better shoes for diabetics even though I’m not diabetic for support. I tape my heel since I work in my feet 10hrs a day. I use insoles and use a brace for planter fasciitis at night toes separators recently and message every day twice a day. I also got a message gun and a shock therapy pen but it hurts so I stopped I can’t handle the shock it gives any advice my heel doesn’t look swollen. M big toe does point inward but I was born that way and my toes look fat because I’m fat but are normal no bunions no gamer toes. I don’t wear high heels for 5 yrs now and I’m 5 feet 210lbs. I also suffer from sciatica pain. I also can’t bend over that’s just too painful and when I stretch I always pull my inner thighs to my private area and end up on pain meds which I really don’t want to be taking. I need help I’m young and feel like I have no hope to this pain. I do go to chiropractor, get messages, and acupuncture. I’m at a lost 😞 I never been able to bend my toes back but recently all this other stuff has happened and I can’t find relief. Please help

I was always told that my heel spurs occurred because of genetics. My paternal grandmother suffered from them and now I do because I'm a lot like her in many ways. Yet I'm taller than she was, I've had spurs off and on since my late-teens to early 20's, and the spurs/pain has always been in only one foot for me whereas Grandma had them in both feet and eventually wore orthopedic shoes for the rest of her life. She passed away in November 2004 at the age of 86. Alzheimer's disease. I'm 54 and have been suffering from a flare up for the past several weeks. Along with foot and lower leg muscles cramps. I'm 5' 8" and weigh around 187. I don't do sports anymore but I'm off and on my feet daily at my job at a newspaper office in the business office. Thank you for an informative video.

Me, I climbed a steep hill and did my own surgery. Was in some pain but not bad for about 3 days. Went to see my podiatrist and he told me I had done my own surgery, so I never had to get surgery done. Pain completely healed and never suffered from it again. 👍👍👍

Great video! Wish I had seen it 30 years ago. 10 years ago I had to have surgery because my many bone spurs had broken off and shredded my achilles tendon. This caused many months of re-hab & therapy where I learned many of the techniques you have shown here. Unfortunately headed back to the Dr due to pain on the outside of my foot between the ankle bone and my surgery scar, hoping to get this fixed too.

Really appreciate updated info! Im guessing 1/2021 is most recent here. I needed additional stretching ideas, since I do stretches before going to bed, but little insidious bugger always wakes me up! Iʻm also going to seek out your shoe insert recommendations. Orthopedist just wants to cut the plantar fascia: albeit Im always hesitant to have elective surgery (Had many, including orthos, so thats likely how spur began to grow.)

By your 40s, you should be doing arch exercises using a 2×4 and the top of a door 6-7 ft. door. You put your arch on top of the 2×4 and scooch your arch along the edge the 2×4. You can prevent heel spurs.

Have you ever heard of spurs on top of feet near sinus tarsi? I'm on my feet a lot started wearing custom made orthotics at 30 because of a heel spur and plantar fasciitis. I'm now 62 and have a lot of spurs. I also have pain in ankles. The doctor talked me I to his orthotics and I feel worse. Went to another pod. Doc. He told me I have sinus tarsi syndrome. Gave me injections I was good for awhile now I'm back and left foot hurts bad especially my ankles. Doctor took essays of feet. Waiting for a call back. I can't work more then two days in a row because of the pain. He said I may need surgery. He also sees a joint in ankles that looks fused together just the left. I get pain in both feet though

Hi, I just found this video, so I haven't yet rabbit-trailed all your resources...getting ready to right now. Anyway, since I haven't yet watched any of your other videos, I have a question. I have both front and back heel spurs, Achilles' tendonitis, past plantar fasciitis. In January, my podiatrist did surgery on my left foot/lower leg. He removed my rear heal spur, lengthened tendon (or hamstring??). I was booted and non-weightbearing for 6 weeks then weightbearing in a boot for several weeks. After surgery I had issues with lots of nerve pain, and currently, after 8 months my foot and heel are still numb, and some weird issues with nerve pain. My right leg right now has some pretty bad Achilles' tendonitis and I am facing more surgery. I am 64 years old, a retired RN, yes overweight (205 lbs). I am very frustrated. All the pain has caused a very sedentary life and I want to be more active than I am able. I'm going to try the things you recommend in this video. You mostly reference plantar fasciitis, but right now mine is more Achilles' tendonitis. Are the recommendations still the same? Should I second guess a second surgery or would it be a benefit? The first surgery gave me some better range of motion in my left foot but at the expense of all the negative side effects.

I am confused. I have plantar fasciitis. You say this is caused by stretching of the plantar fascia. If so, why does stretching exercises heal it?
@DrTomBiernacki2 жыл бұрын
Gentle gradual stretching on a healthy tendon can make it more flexible. Think of a body builder working their way up with controlled weights and good technique (this will gradually grow the muscle) vs someone who tries to pick up 200lbs with bad technique (this could tear a muscle).

How can I stretch with the towel if one of my ankle is fused?
@DrTomBiernacki2 жыл бұрын
Joints like the hamstring and plantar fascia and surrounding ligaments are still very important. For specifics always work with your doctor and physical therapists.

I do foot exercises in chair yoga class will that help my heel spur go away? Or do i have to stretch my lower calves too? What do think about memory foam shoes do you recommend that kind of shoe for someone that's overweight?

I am obese. Got up to 400 lbs. Changed my diet, started walking for exercise after work for 1 hour. Not regular walking, pushing myself to walk as fast as I could for 1 hour. On a day off of work I walked for 1 hour in the morning and felt really good so before bed I did it again and felt great. The next day the most incredible pain I have ever felt. 15 weeks later I still have the same pain. You can't win if you are fatty and if you do something about it you are screwed for it too, especially if you are over 50.

I have pain in the sesamoid and the heel sadly, is it possible that plantar fasciitis could cause both?

I had this for 6 months that why I am here. I will try it as soon I finish the clip. I want to go to hospital. But I thought I will search in youtube. Because before I had pain in my elbow and went to the hospital and see the doctor and he give me a lots of medicine to take 3 times a day it did not work so I search in youtube to find a simple strecth arms remedy and it works. Now I have calcanues pain maybe for a long standing period due I run my pastry shop and be in the kitchen for 14 hours eberyday. And I fee this pain on my right foot. I will try this everyday. Good health advice.

I have 2 pretty large bone spurs on my right foot and one on my left. Planters fasciitis and collapsed arches in both feet. It's absolutely excruciating the worst pain I've ever fealt. I had inserts made for my shoes but, They don't seem to be helping. I stretch, I do everything I'm told to do to relieve the pain but, nothing seems to work 😩

I have a huge heel spur on the back of my right foot above my heel on the back of my ankle. Right where the back of my shoe hits. You say they can cause pain? Omg. It hurts so bad!! I have to wear a boot for a month!! I have no Idea how I got it. I wear brooks shoes which are excellent shoes. I am on my feet all day at work. Maybe thats how. Who knows. All I know is it is extremely swollen, red and painful where the spur is on the back of my heel!!!

Do you have any recommendation of a podiatrist in the Denver, CO area?
@GodisAlliEverNeeded542 ай бұрын
I think thats what I got, I kept telling my orthopedic there was something bothering in the buttom of my foot. Oct 2023 had a bad fall fractured my ankle , december could start walking in boot . Soon after could wear shoes, encourage me to walk with cane, wanted me stop using cane. I kept asking I need to know what shoe I'm to wear, because its not comfortable for me. Started walking with my foot coaked to the left, if I stepped on the right in heal area it bothered me. Nurse was getting mad at me , accusing me . I had a hard time pinpointing it. My ham strings was tightening alot. Im not walking right. If I lift my legs up in the air , when I flex I feel it, it feels like very sharp like its hanging there. Its getting even more noticeable. If I take a belt wrap around my foot setting up , I can't stretch it like I'm suppose to, to stretch calf can't seem to do that no more. Its getting worse. Hoping my Dr. Looks at it on the 11th. Not sure if it has broke off in there, cause its moving. Its sharp.

Would a heel spur cause a lump in my foot where the arch and heel connect at?

It can for sure do that. But that could also happen die to a partial plantar fascia tear or inflammation
