This shouldn't be a surprised we did build a punt guns, 4, 2, & 1 bore rifles well before we ever got .50 BMG rifle. My question now is the punt gun or an oversized shotgun or undersized artillery piece? Actually these guys need to make a giant punt gun.

As charming as the story is, physics in space is a bitch. The spinning barrels alone would have ripped the ship apart. The second issue is gyroscopic precession. That is when a spinning object in zero-G flips end-over-end 180, and then does it again, and again, and again... ripping the ship apart due to sudden lateral torque; there is no inertial dampener for this, it is that sudden. The easy solution to this is to build a counter rotating... sister... to the gun; in essence a dual GAU-80 CIWS will hold the ship stable enough for the guns to rip the ship apart. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4ezl42Vjd-cqbc There's a reason guns larger than 30mm are auto-cannons, not rotary cannons. Ease of maintenance on the gun, the housing, and the equipment carrying it. Which is to say nothing about the munitions logistics.

I we can throw it... you can bet your bittom dollar one of us is going to find a way to throw it fast, farther, and with more boom when it gets there. It's our specialty and NO ONE out humans us at it. Pretty sure humanity has jever once stopped to ask "why" as we'd rarher ask "why not?" and then completely ignore the question, throw caution to the wind, link 8 fusion cores together, one being more than enough to power thevstation itself, the other 7 only ramped up from idle standby to 100% in order to provide not just enough juice to fire the 4 km long super weapon of utter ridiculousness... but to recharge it rapidly enough for no one to notice it needed a recharge at all. Oh, and since humans live kinetic ballistics... your shields are gonna do fuck all against this. Each one is gonna hit you with enough energy to overload your shields or just plain pretend they don't even exist.
