Also, I need to give that Bare Minerals highlighter a try. I bought the duo, with that and the bronzer, but I never reach for the highlighter because it swatches poorly and looks boring in the pan. But I know better! So I need to put it to use. I bought the bronzer because of you! And for once I actually love a bronzer. So thank you for all your wonderful suggestions! When it comes to highlight I tend to go for more pale champagne shades. A few of my favorites are 2 from ColourPop. Their Super Shock in Flexitarian and Here, Kitty Kitty in the pressed powder version. Urban Decay Afterglow in Sin. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea highlighting palette II - the 2 pale shades are so glowy and pretty. And my favorite of all time, Makeup Revolution in Goddess of Faith. 3 out of the 5 are drugstore which is amazing. (Or drugstore PRICES I should say) The drugstore is really stepping up their game!

The reason you have to break through the top layer of the highlighter is because it was baked and therefore the top of it is more dried out and dense. Think about baked highlighters like if you were baking brownies, the top layer is dryer but it's softer and creamer on the inside. A lot of people talk about the elf baked highlighters and how you need to scratch off the top layer. Great video, thanks!!!

I like to use Anastasia Vermeer eyeshadow as a highlighter. It’s gorgeous on my pale skin. If you have the Modern Renaissance palette, it’s in there, but you can buy it as a single too.

tarte pro glow to go is so pale friendly. I dont use the contour it's too dark but the 2 highlighters look so good for pale skin. they are my go to highlighters. its 19 bucks for 2 highlight shades and they r amazing!

Hi Arna, please consider doing a video where you explain the best way to apply each type of highlighter formulation so they look really good on the skin. For example, I bought the Dior Nude Air Luminizer because the Sephora reviews had said that it could be applied for a subtle glow all the way to being seen in outer space. However, I can't figure out how to apply it for the more subtle look. I would imagine that there are a lot of other typical viewers that are in the same position. It would be great to know how to apply a gelee vs pressed powder vs a baked highlighter - thanks!

I‘d definitely suggest you to try moonstone from becca, it‘s my favorite and for some reason it‘s the least intense one. It‘s not like the others and it‘s a beautiful light gold.

Several months ago I bought Lit based on your recommendation, and I absolutely love it. I have another extra dimension skin finish highlight from the Nutcracker Collection released last Christmas called Tutu. It was in the sweet peach face compact. It’s stunning and I wish Mac would make it permanent. It is what I consider to be a champagne with a neutral undertone. It would be gorgeous on your skintone. Have you ever tried Vermeer from the Modern Renaissance as a highlight? I like doing that on occasion. It’s so pretty.

NYX highlighter in Ritualistic in a white gold it's pretty much Becca's Pearl with a warn gold undertone kinda like the Nars Albatross but less gold it's kinda like the Fenty but more intense and it's only $11 Canadian. My usual go to are the ABH Moonchild or the Kat Von D Alchemist pallets there for the more brave with the blue and green shades but they are so pretty on pale skin. I also love the Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighter in Radiant Lights with a light hand it's this lovely peachy gold I want to try the rest of them.

I’m not sure if you can get Annabelle products where you live but if you can, you should try to find their liquid highlighters!! They’re very similar to the cover fx and iconic ones! But way cheaper. I have the rose gold/silvery one and it’s beautiful worn under or mixed into foundation! ☺️

Thank you for your recommendations!! At the moment I am enjoying the nyx eyeshadow in "girl talk" and the physician's formula shimmer strips in "natural" as highlighters. Both are super flattering and don't have a lot of coloured base and have more of a "sheen". I also use m.a.c lightscapade still (it's almost used up!!) and the eyeshadows in nylon & frost. And if I'm having a natural day I just use xo beauty lucent :D

Great video! What about Becca moonstone? It’s pretty light white gold. I think Becca’s best shade is opal but I use it for bronzer or blush topper when I self tan. Thank you for this review. People don’t understand that being pale, it’s a real struggle to find shades that work. I’m a true neutral so shades made too cool or too warm look so terrible on me. I can’t even count the hundred times I’ve been color matched at the beauty counter and go home and realize I look ridiculous.

You should check out Colourpop's Super Shock Highlighter in Lunch Money! It's a beautiful pale gold that can be worn sheer or built up to blinding status. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I'm usually a high end only type of girl but CP does some great highlighters. I'm about 4-5 shades paler than you and it works for my skin tone, so I'm sure it would look lovely on you as well. ☺️

Becca actually do have a white-goldish highlighter! they only do it in their mini size but it’s called “vanilla quartz” and it’s stunning, so natural and shiny but still pops 👌🏻 it’s much smaller than normal becca highlighters but when will you ever use a full one up? plus it’s cheaper so yay! i definitely recommend it if you can get your hands on it ☺️

I find that Double Gleam works more as a topper for other highlighters for me than on its own, it's very shimmery and doesn't have a defined coloured base like Moonstone does. Moonstone is more of a gold pigmented shimmer which I prefer, but I love wearing them together.

Arna Alayne different strokes for different folks! I'm about the same depth as you, I wear NC10, Nars Siberia, but I'm definitely more yellow than cool so the colour of Moonstone works for me really well, and Pearl looks so ashy on me.
