Best Homemade Chicken Souvlaki Pita Ever

I am a Mexican American woman with no Greek in me but find myself loving Greek/Mediterranean food and yesterday I made chicken souvlaki (just how u should me) with restaurant homemade pita bread, domlas, a greek salad with a lemon balsamic (homemade) dressing and a gourmet baklava for dessert, OMG it was so so delicious! My kids weren’t thrilled that much (bc it had too much veggies, lol) but my husband, myself and my eldest child absolutely LOVED it all! Thank you so much for showing me how to make one of the most delicious cuisine to mankind. 😊 👍🏼 will definitely be making this again…real soon.

Oh, and might I add it is so filling. I had it for dinner and could not eat anything else the rest of the evening. So good. So fulfilling. It’s does not hit hard like authentic Mexican food does. After eating Mexican food, you want to sleep but not Greek food, it gives you energy, fuel and doesn’t put you in a food coma.

This was the first recipe I followed, and when I made it for my family the reaction was so overwhelming I decided I just HAD to find the BEST recipe available. So I tried several others. The reactions just weren't the same. So I returned to this one, and last time I made it my daughter told me it THE BEST meal I'd ever made - and I've been cooking for 35+ years. She graduates college in a few weeks and I asked her what meal she wanted to celebrate the occasion. You guessed it: she wants THIS souvlaki recipe!

I used to live in Melbourne, Australia in the early 90s. There was a new souvlaki shop open up, which had the most beautiful Greek food. Seriously good! Been eating those chicken slovlaki since the last 2 weeks and still amazed how great it taste, now i just cooked them in the oven, save it in the fridge and then just put what i need into a hot pan to get the burning on the chicken, takes less than 5 minutes for each lunch. So many fake cooking channel on KZbin nowadays but not this one, legit stuff ;) Thanks!

Great recipe, genius to marinate the chicken with a bit of yoghurt, i used to use lemon, garlic and oil only and this really makes it taste more authentic
