Tried all the guides online and various builds but ultimately decided to go back too my build, crit chance and sticking too thrust attack stance. After 3 days of trying everything and finally going to my build, in about 10 attempts, I did everything right, cast spells at the perfect time, dodge efficiently enough and did enough damage all with bit of luck and defeated him. Whew! now all these bosses after don't seem nearly difficult pressing forward. I'm 59 and you young whipper snappers with those sharper reflexes should get him down in no time. My level was 69 Carry on!

If you r having trouble, try using umbral abyss instead. Basically same thing as he does just that transformation. Beat him at level 62 after a few tries. U just need a little bit of luck and connect everything including a whole 3 charge hit before transformation. I used smash so I can run and charge when I get behind him

Thx! Great build. I did it at lv 75 right at the start of chapter 4, as I finally acquired enough sparks to allow my duplicates to do good damage. However, I had to bide my time until I could use the spell again. What I found was that you can run to the opposite side of the area and wait for 5-10 seconds or so at a time. Sometimes you get lucky and he takes ages, sharpening his blade and waiting for you. But even if he pursues you, you wait for him to do his charged jump, evade underneath him, do a roll, wait for the swipe hit he always does and then run all the way back again. Rinse and repeat until you can get the guys on him again. Oh! and use the Daoist Spirit. Right at the start. Don't move, just plonk down his attack buff and then call your dups. It makes you and your duplicates more powerful. Hope this helps someone!

Level 91 is crazy. I tried this strategy at level 57 and couldn’t beat it. I then switched to cloud step strategy and beat him that way at the same level 57.

Yes it breaks fast. I noticed too. You have to be quick here. Immobilize when you are close and then headbutt him with Wandering Wright.

you have not let me down yet, so I'm hoping this works!! I'm at the start of chapter 4, but at level 81. I do not have the Loong weapon yet as I have not gotten to the Yellow Loong yet. But man, I have been trying this guy so much. I have seen other videos, some that are like 14 minutes long telling you: "when his sword is at 2:00 and gray he will have a 4 slash combo" and "when his sword is at 10:00 and has a red color to it, he will do a six slash combo" etc. so confusing. Really hope this works and thanks again!!

Update: ok so I tried it and it worked! Not nearly as well as your video. As others have said, by the time you were done with your fire dude, he was basically done. When I was done with the fire dude, he had about 30% health I would guess. I’m also level 79, not 81 but whatever. It was still much easier dodging his attacks with a head start of 30% than 100% so once again, I thank you! The kicker was the head Butt wight dude. It took me two tries. The first try I did like you: hit him once with spear then went for head butt, but he teleported away. Then when I was one on one, he had about 70% health. Second time, after immobilizing him, I head butted right away. Worked great!

Why is the golden staff essential? Idk why but when I use your method I only get him to about half health for some reason lol. I trigger his most aggressive moves usually. And he NEVER stays frozen that long.

Yeah, I think rank does matter I'm at 74 and this trash boss just cheats and cheaps every time. Instantly breaks my immobilize, and forces cutscene attacks that ignore my specials every time I launch one or try to hold for a heavy attack. The mechanics, lvl design, and the camera are horrible for this fight. I think it's designed to force you to level up unless you get lucky. Dude is teleporting and flipping my camera around for the entire second phase, can't even lock on. I think l I'll have to progress some before I can use this method, but it looks good! Another great vid.

@@MFDOOM.. which is why your clones do no damage, this fight is skill-check point in the game, you only need to stack defence from xu-dog and make sure you use your transformation twice as he goes berserker mode when hp is less than 20%. Red tides transformation works the best as it applies burning status and your focus bar is filled almost instantly.

I beat him in chapter 3 when I first got to the village on my first try. I was shocked because I kept hearing he was so hard. Got my ass handed to me by yellow loong though. Scorpion king too. The rest of chapter 4 was pretty easy though. Just got to chapter 5. Hoping I can finish the game this weekend and start ng+.
