Hi, whilst moving a hydrangea, I have in a large pot, I accidentally broke a stem off. This stem had a little heal on the end, so I was very interested to see your video today. I will see if this roots better than other cuttings 😊😊😊

Very timely indeed. Go for it!

Yay! The lace caps are my favorite because they’re better for pollinators. I have a few in the garden now, and now I can have even more, thank you!!! Happy growing! xo 😍❤️

You certainly can. Great bushes, no matter what.

@@GardeningatDouentzaas long as I’ve been gardening, I’ve never tried to propagate hydrangea from cuttings for some reason. But I’ll give it a go. Thanks for the motivation. 😍

I just trimmed 3 maculata hydrangeas yesterday, because I was tired and it got late I just put them in a bucket of water. So this was very helpful, I will prepare them today, thank you! 🌱🤗

Rachel I can’t thank you enough for how much I am learning from your videos. Could you please tell me if store bought sheep compost would be good for this propagation method?
@GardeningatDouentza7 ай бұрын
Glad you are finding the videos useful. Compost made from sheep wool? I have never tried it, I'm afraid.
@RomanticFlor7 ай бұрын
It is actually compost sheep manure
@GardeningatDouentza7 ай бұрын
@@RomanticFlorwell, manure is not suitable for cuttings. You need something well-draining.

Thank you. I have perlite just need to get the right compost. Will seafood compost work? I am in Newfoundland Canada.

We have a couple St. John’s Wort shrubs that have mostly died, but have a few fresh shoots on the tips. I’m planning to take cuttings soon, before removing the shrubs. Is there a chance this will work?
@GardeningatDouentza8 ай бұрын
Yeah, they should work well.

I have a question about tulips. I saved the bulbs after blooming, but I cut off the green leaves. Have I ruined their chances for flowers next spring?
