I have been looking for something to replace the tons of paper notebooks that I was generating for work and personally. I started with the Apple iPad pro first gen. I did everything I was looking to do my I learned that I needed the friction of the paper as writing on glass was just not satisfying form me. I sold my IPad and purchased a reMarkable. This just does one thing (takes notes) but it does it really well. But I had to wait for 6 months for the newest model V2. I could not wait so after massive research I was getting a lot of good news about the 2020 IPad pro, I was also seeing a lot of good reviews about paperlike. I all my research I could not find anyone reviewing this thinks that was over 35 years old. I needed someone that is using the IPad as a professional. Then on a Sunday morning, I can across one of your videos. I am now subscribed. what a breath of fresh air. I have been looking for reviews that relate to a professional and not a college kid. Note-taking, planning and task management, as well as this mind mapping video, have been great!! THANKS!!!

I had a 10th gen iPad kzbin.infoUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . Felt it getting pretty slow at times even after doing a reset. So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.

Yes! Totally agree with you that miro is currently the best mind mapping tools using pen. (there's a real mindmap template in miro!) Yet, it lacks gestures like Add New Node & Add New Sibling; and it did not allow digital ink in the node (keyboard typing slow down the process a lot!); and it cannot drag a whole node to another tree location! All these features could be used under Mindjet's MindManager Windows XP Tablet Editions years ago! I'm still waiting for the perfect mind mapping tools for iPad :-(

Hi, when I am in a brainstorming mode, I want to add ideas quickly. This looks great but is to slow for me. Do you have other tips?
@paperlessmove4 ай бұрын
Even after all these years, I still believe Miro is the best tool for brainstorming. But are you really getting the most out of it, like using keyboard shortcuts to speed up your workflow? I’ve also created a Miro course that could help you get up to speed even faster. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4S3aIyCnLSjkK8 However, depending on your specific needs, other tools might suit you better. For instance, Heptabase could be a great alternative for certain use cases. To give you the best advice, it would help to know more about your unique 'brainstorming mode.' If you’d like to explore this further, I invite you to join us in the Paperless Movement Membership. Paco and I dive deep into these topics with our community and would love to help you find the perfect fit for your workflow. more info here: paperlessmovement.com/join

Thanks for an excellent overview. Had already downloaded the app based on the review on another channel. They spent over 15 minutes on it, but didn’t manage to pack into the Apple Pencil highlights like the smart shapes/figures... I guess they looked more at the PC/Mac features, but this just made it another mind-mapping tool (which I still wanted to try out). The features you highlighted in your short overview, however, clearly showed what differentiates this software from the existing ones. Nice work 👍!!

To me, MIRO is like Whimsical, more of a flowchart tool with some mind map capability. They do a lot on multimedia support and freely movable parts. They can't compare with mind map tools like MindMaster/XMind/MindMeister. Especially the formatting & organization, and the ability to one click reorganize to a different type of mind map (which I like a lot but others may not). I think they have a totally different work style to suit different types of people. I will stick to MindMaster as its map format are very well organized, also cross-platform and has a desktop version, many map types & existing templates, free plan more usable, also has a perpetual plan, and with desktop version templates you can actually use many paid map types with just free plan.
Жыл бұрын
For functionality of "reorganization" you need to follow some mindmapping rules based on which this functionality works. For me when I create its limitation. I agree that there are different type of brains, personality and thats why there are at least few good apps but for different people 👍🏼
@VichoBandido4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video.The tool looks great, particularly for its flexibility of design and layout, rearranging blocks and including such wide array of item types. The tool looks much more geared toward process mapping and infographics design rather than mind mapping. Why? well, let's see: Arguably the tool does help graphically represent ideas and concepts, but in my opinion, it missed a crucial point of mind mapping - quick and seamless capture/input of information during brainstorming. I still use Freemind for this very reason - ideas can be captured and rearranged extremely quickly, which helps think as you build the map. It took you several seconds to add a the first few boxes to the screen and then you had to put the pen down and type the text in. Also the sticky note needing to be grouped with the inking text.... these are key shortcomings. I'd like to see the following behaviour. I handwrite an idea on the page - text or drawing - and the machine puts bubble around automagically. I write a second idea and the same thing happens, either connecting ideas automagically or I connected the ideas with a stroke of the pen. that's it.... if they can add this behaviour then it would be the ultimate mind mapping tool. Actually there are other (interpret my handwriting into typed text, and quick disconnection of blocks would both be high on the backlog).

Tom Solid's #PaperlessMovement Thank you for the question how I would like to use this app in the free plan. This app appears to be a candidate to organize a workflow for creating a large enough mindmap to teach/learn shorthand with two sorts of nodes: +handwritten stuff and +imbedded videos. The handwritten stuff needs the *pressure-sensitivity* of the Apple pencil to express parts of the steno-signs with thinner or thicker lines. This must be done on the flow of writing, without losing time by switching every (sub-)second to another pen attribute. With shorthand, using a #PressureSensitivePen it is possible to increase the writing speed up to the speed of spoken speech (a factor of 10). So you need to answer only one question (to save you answering the other questions :) ). -> Does #Miro offer this pressure-sensitivity like e.g. #Notes or #ZoomNotes does. If it doesn't, I will keep it on my watchlist .. waiting for the time that this essential feature is implemented. The current features of Miro look gorgeous, so that I am still interested, if you or somebody else could answer my initial 3 questions. Your answers are very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I use Miro, and it's a great app I haven't found anything better in terms of cross-platform compatibility, it's true. There are a few things still missing for me. Since my mind maps tend to be quite large, I really want to be able to collapse and expand connection trees. The other thing I'd like to have changed is for their built-in mind-map notes to be able to be modified or replaced with other objects, while still acting like a standard node where pressing tab will automatically generate a child node, etc. The reverse should also be true, where any object can be made to behave the way a node or root mind-map object does. These improvements would speed up map making greatly. It currently feels like their built-in mind-map tool, which is quite capable, is nonetheless just a third-party app that's been pressed into service onto Miro rather than something which is properly integrated with the rest of the software. I hope they keep working on that side of things.
