Best iPhone App for Filming Videos - Final Cut Camera vs Blackmagic Cam?

I think the best feature in Blackmagic Camera app is the custom selection of FPS and shutter speed. Very few apps can provide exact shutter selection according to frame rate. So the movement comes out more cinematic no matter how the quality is.

i do alot of gym content but short form so for reels and shorts.. i had been using just the cinematic mode on the default camera app...... and im wondering if i should switch to final cut app or blackmagic and how much of a difference it would make? and i use capcut to edit after i see that blackmagic tho is fully landscape mode for recording

In my experience, the Final Cut App is better than BlackMagic App. In BlackMagic App, my iPhone 11 skips frame and the preview was also choppy. The quality of video is equally good from both the apps, it’s just what works for you better for you.

Nice comparison but only 6 features in the app does not decides the whole experience. Blackmagic app has more features cool features like, Rack focusing, several color focus peaking, aspect ratio grid overlays, proress 422 HQ, lut preview. I wanted prores raw but both app do not provide that.

Agreed. Final Cut Pro also have these features hence I didn’t compare them. ProRes Raw is something that can’t be provided by the software. It has to be supported by the Apple hardware first
