@@yourmum69_420In tournaments some don't even care, and in the street we won't because it can cause more destruction to land on top of your opponent and not assist their fall Like the creator of Judo said: "Judo is a study of techniques with which you may kill if you wish to kill, injure if you wish to injure, subdue if you wish to subdue, and, when attacked, defend yourself.” Meaning that blasting someone who doesn't know how to fall onto concrete full force will literally break them. And you actually don't need to control their fall if you don't want to. You can land on top of them and let them fall with the throw Judo can be the gentle way but also the brutal way

I trained under the four Japanese 4 th Dans sent by the Japanese Overseas Volunteers Corps to train the Police Field Force in Sarawak, Malaysia. I was only 16 then but won my black belt by remaining unbeaten and throwing the other two men (with full ippon) who passed the test with me. I have never been thrown in competition. I executed that move many times even when joking around with friends on grassy grounds but I never used my body weight to inflict extra force or damage like that guy He was airborne putting the entire force on his opponents as he slammed it! Really well executed though. You did that move in real life to anyone on a hard surface (or most any of these throws for that matter), it is game over. These throws are more dangerous than most any kick or punch, especially if the other guy doesn't know how to brake their fall.

Buy a book on judo. All u need is another body to practice on ask around if anyone wants to practice with you b4 or after on on an open mat day. If your in bjj just ask your instructor to go over some throws. Take it slow nice and easy learn how to fall first and just learn the technique. It's been years since I've did BJJ. But one of the places I trained was a young lady who started with judo first so that helped but it's not hard to add to your game. Hard to do on a resisting opponent but once u start messing around with it you'll start to see the openings 4 it. When you do hit a throw it feels cool

3:04, thats the way you do it. Take someone completely off their feet, then they have absolutely no leverage to use against you. Those not familiar with Judo don't realize how much leg work is involved in take downs, most just think of hand grappling/throwing, where as most is simply eliminating the opponents leverage by taking out their legs with leg throws. So much fun to watch. Again a huge thing, taking someone off their feet = no more leverage.

Imagine being thrown down at hard surfaces.
@BW022
@BW022 4 жыл бұрын
The mats are aren't soft. Depending on the venue the floor might have some give. Traditional mats are compressed straw while newer types are compressed foam. However, they are darn solid -- especially when new. The reasons why no one is injured (in these cases) is that the goal is to throw people on the flat of their backs, the opponents all know how to break fall (and keep their heads tucked in), and of course the video is of successful throws. If it was half-point or third-point throws... you'd see a lot more hard/bad landings and injuries. And if these were actual fights... you'd see the thrower not being so 'clean' on the throws -- dropping to knees, not keeping uki's head shielded, etc. In which point, the surface would be a secondary concern. I'd take a clean throw on concrete over being thrown by someone on a mat intentionally dropping to their knee(s) and dropping their shoulders such that my head, neck, or shoulder was the only part of my body taking the fall.
