About a week ago I watched one of your videos that talked abut picking a movement your bad at and just focus on it until its fixed...well along with switching to a heavy rope I was able to RX my first ever workout (Annie) last night that included double unders (I would always scale to singles). They weren't pretty or perfect but I got through....Thanks Ben

My favourite rope for doubles is my rush athletics money rope. No mechanism, no frills, pvc with handles. Got my PR of 104 with one. I do have a set of cross ropes which are also great!!

Sucks that you have to say “I’m not sponsored by these guys”. You consistently put out quality information and I hate to imagine people hating or accusing you of dishonest opinions. Thanks for all you do.

Good Video, I have skipped for boxing for 40 years, I usually use a heavy rope 12 oz to 16 oz Mostly Singles , Cross overs and some double unders, but seem to get stuck around 8 or 10 doubles then trip up, trying a speed rope after all these years, just for double unders, but i think it is too short for me for doubles, I might be flaring, I could also be getting slower, i am 65 lol I think I will go back to a heavier rope and maybe even a touch longer. Thanks for the insight. Cheers

Thank you so much for the advice here, the ropes at the gym are clearly NOT what I should be using to finally get double unders. Just ordered the wodnation attack ropes 👍🏼

Thank you so much this has helped me. I got a heavier rope and straight away I managed to sting together 10 double unders your tips and advice are amazing, keep it up.

Just ordered my rope and grips from Wod Nation-- thanks for the recommendation! It's hard to get good feedback from my box friends since they all know how to do DUs already. I needed beginner level stuff! awesome Ben.

I grew up using an old leather jump rope of my dad's from his boxing days that we have in our basement. It's pretty long for me, but actually very good quality (speed, weight, etc.)

Best thing I’ve found - the rope part can be relatively cheap to replace so don’t be afraid to cut the rope to the right length - if you adjust the length (on handles that let you do that) and leave the tails in place they cause havoc with timing and they’ll sometimes wrap around your hand as they go over and stop the rope entirely. Good luck for the open tomorrow anyone that’s doing it!

Hi Ben , I use crossropes quarter pound rope and a bare steel rope from Rogue fitness both are great due to your vids and the vids from Dave (crossrope ) him self hehe

I've only used those tangled ones this far at the gym. I start to realize why I am stuck. Great tips. Will get my own as soon as possible.
@WODprep6 жыл бұрын
DEFINITELY want to get your own! That's a huge first step.

Weird that on crossropes site your rope isn’t on there. I love crossrope. Cool you guys have come together. I’m using the Crossrope heavy ropes which helped me get my double under with the 1/4 easy. I wish there was a little bit more reviews on your new rope, but since Crossrope made it I’m sure it’s high quality.

I just received the wodprep ropes. I can do 15 doubles with a coiling rope. Tried the heavy rope in the set. I can string a few, but I keep hitting my toes with the rope after those reps and it hurts like hell with that heavy rope. Will this go away if I practice my jumps more? Thanks for any tips.

I bought a cheap speed rope on Amazon (Survival and Cross). It twists up just like you say. How does the WOD Nation attack rope compare to the Jump N Rope R1.5 hybrid rope?

Hi, I have a doubt: what's the difference between bearing ($40) and bushing ropes ($20)???? Is it worth the price difference ?? Thanks!
@WODprep5 жыл бұрын
Bushing ropes tend to spin slow, and then when they get dirty, they spin REALLY slow. Bearing ropes can be great, but they can also be made with low quality bearings. This is why we suggest the WODprep Rope, which is made with the highest quality ceramic bearings. It spins forever - new, old, or in between!

6.5' tall beginner. how do i set the length? just trial and adjustment over and over again?
@WODprep5 жыл бұрын
Hey! The perfect length varies from person to person, but very simply, the rope should barely touch the ground every time it passes under your feet. We write more about it here if you're interested - wodprep.com/blog/double-under-tips-finding-perfect-jump-rope/

I can do double unders with any of the jump ropes he just demonstrated. He’s making double unders sound way too hard.
