As an avid avocado hater, I finally caved and tried putting a little avocado in the smoothie I make that is similar to this one. I caved because I couldn't figure out how people got their smoothies to be so thick without ice cream. Well... it's the avocado. I vowed that if I tasted even a hint of avocado, I was going to dump the whole thing. To my astonishment and delight, I could not taste any avocado flavor at all and the smoothie was like a milk shake. Naturally, you have to have strong flavors like chocolate, coffee, or strong fruit flavors.

I made 1/2 of this recipe for dinner tonight. I didn't have any avocado, but I put in 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt, and it is still YUM! Thank you for a great keto friendly shake, I'm planning to use this more once Spring and Summer hit...😁

Thank you! Definitely - you can add protein powder for protein, or adjust the heavy cream amount (and add unsweetened almond milk as needed) to adjust the fat levels. You can customize it how you want!

Well lo and behold if I don't have every one of these ingredients in my cupboard! I think I will give this one a shot even though I do have good protein powder. Gonna go make it!! * some time later * Okay. Not bad! I added peanut butter instead of almond butter and had to add in 3 tbsp of sweetener (Swerve and monk fruit) and it is just right for sweetness

Yumz, looks delicious. A great Potassium boost. This is very similar to what I make, but I don't have Cinnamon in mine. I add half a cup of frozen Blueberries or Raspberries instead of Ice, & a few drops of concentrated Maple flavouring too. Depending on the size of the Avocado, it can set in the fridge in a few hours, like an extravagant mousse, 4 little Ramekins full. I guess I'm saying, you can mess with this one. Lol. Coconut cream would be the easiest replacement but it would have more carbs. You'd need to run the numbers to account for the new nutritional values to make sure they fit into your macros.

hey, do you have any recommendations for non sweet meal replacement shakes? the one thing i hate most about being on a diet is the fake sugar taste you get from diet sugars ( like diet coke). yet i seem to have a hard time finding a meal replacement shake that isn't sweet. all i ever see are vanilla/chocolate shakes. I dont want a desert to be my meal, and i just want something fast an easy that doesnt require cooking like a steak. i know the idea of a "Meat Shake" sounds gross, but I was thinking more of a soup but in a keto shake form.

Something like this came to mind (leaving out the sweeteners): www.ruled.me/keto-avocado-green-smoothie/ where it would lean more to the neutral side. Add some unflavored protein powder to boost the protein content. We don't particularly have any savory shakes, but a soup or something similar would do well. That said, something like this would work well drinking it out of a mug: www.ruled.me/roasted-red-bell-pepper-and-cauliflower-soup/ You could also add protein powder to that to bolster protein levels (you can use whatever type of fat instead of duck fat, too). Pretty much any blended savory/cream-based soup would do well out of a mug. Even some with meat in (like bacon) can be blended, though it might not have the most pleasant texture drinking it - I think it would be pretty tasty, though.

You can use 2/3 the amount of ground chia seeds instead, or you can just leave it out and it will be a little bit thinner.

You could, but it likely wouldn't be the best thing to OMAD. I would recommend this alongside something like a meat-filled salad (chicken/bacon/ranch salad comes to mind for being full of flavor and macros).

The avocado helps give it some body. If you want to leave it out, I'd recommend using something like protein powder to help thicken it up without the avocado.

It's replaces a meal (maybe 2 for some people), it's a 900 calorie shake, so you can also split it into 2 if you want.

You should feel satisfied until probably 12p lunch. I usually don’t feel hungry after a good breakfast shake, sometimes even just a cup of coffee is enough for me. I’m also not much of a breakfast person.

This looks good, but the cream will cause an allergic reaction and the stevia sweetener will cramp up my stomach. Otherwise, It's wonderful looking.

It's similar to keto coffee in the sense it doesn't have much protein, but you can certainly add some protein powder to make it more of a complete meal, macro-wise.

If you had a kidney disorder then I'd skip it, but if you have some type of kidney issues then keto probably isn't for you. If you don't have kidney issues, oxalates should not be a concern for you unless you're eating tons of almonds and spinach on a daily basis.
