What would you recommend as low carb protein powder? Thank you🌹
@RuledMe Жыл бұрын
It doesn't particularly matter the brand, most are the same in terms of quality. Just look for a brand with 1g or carbs less per scoop. Isopure, ON, Perfect Keto, Naked...there are lots of brands out there. Go for cost effectiveness in my opinion.

Luscious looking smoothies and shakes. How much granulated "sugar" should you put if you don't have the liquid stevia?
@RuledMe Жыл бұрын
Up to you, really. These are more of a "sweeten to taste" type of thing anyway. I'd say try with 2-3 teaspoons first and then you can adjust with more if needed. The ones with fruit will need less sweetener since the berries are naturally sweet. It may also impact things if your protein powder is sweetened as well (some will be sweetened with sucralose).

What is the best unsweetened almond milk??
@RuledMe6 ай бұрын
They're all basically the same. If you skew toward clean eating, try to find a brand that has fewest (or no) thickeners. Otherwise, just go for the cheapest, almond milk is usually only 1-2% almond and the rest water, so the brands should all taste similar.

The massive amounts of keto sweeteners will give you high insulin which leads to pre-diabetes. Anything sweet raises insulin, including keto sweeteners. Try to get your insulin levels five or below. But the only way to do that is avoid anything sweet!
@RuledMeАй бұрын
Some sweeteners do raise insulin (though much less than sugar) but the fact that blood sugar isn't increasing can cause some insulin resistance. Erythritol does not cause insulin secretion and is sweet. Though there may be some long-term downfalls to that, I'd still consider it better and overall healthier than sugar. But yes, things that are sweet should be moderately consumed in my opinion, I do agree with you there. Avoided all together is a bit much, though. In a world where sugar and high fructose corn syrup are heavy-handedly added to most foods, I wouldn't be too concerned over occasional sweetener use personally. The great thing about life is that you can choose your own preferences.
@mollyb1279Ай бұрын
@ So what you’re saying is, the keto smoothies in your video should only be consumed occasionally
@RuledMeАй бұрын
@@mollyb1279 Yes, though that's my stance with most things. I think having variety in your diet is important. Switching between meats, fish, vegetables helps a lot with overall health in my opinion. Same thing goes with seeds and nuts, fruits if you eat them, and dairy. Generally with sweets/sweetened things, I recommend eating them as a treat (meaning, only occasionally). I still drink my coffee sweetened every day with stevia, though, so it's a bit hypocritical of me to say. For me, it's just a matter of health vs convenience in a sense. I don't think I'll ever get to a point of having the most optimized diet ever without being miserable, so I just do my best and eat what makes me feel my best. At the end of the day, everyone is different and coming from a different point of health when starting keto. If you normally eat lots of sweets and treats and cut back (but still eat sweetened things often), I'd consider it healthier. You do need to be careful of insulin resistance, but even with that considered, I'd still favor the sweetener over lots of daily sugar intake.
@mollyb1279Ай бұрын
@@RuledMe ok and I’ll still favor not consuming the massive amount of keto sweeteners
@RuledMeАй бұрын
@@mollyb1279 Totally fair! I was just adding context for others reading the comments. Deciding what you consume and don't consume is all part of the process to healthier eating.

Almond Butter is not Keto... 100 = 20 grams of carbs
@RuledMe Жыл бұрын
100g almond butter is 19g carbs and 10g fiber...9g net carbs. That is 600 calories for 9g net carbs. Definitely keto-friendly. You might want to do a bit more research first before spreading misinformation 👍
