hey man I have the 24-70gm and the 16-35gm thinking of getting the 35 gm , the 85 gm/ or the 1.8, or the 70-200 II my budget is the about 2000-2500 for a new len or lens

Filmed a TV series on the 24-70 gm2. great image out of that lens. Looks beautiful. very clean. I much prefer the longer lenses like the MK fujinon set, so sold the 24-70 with the aim of replacing it with the Laowa Rangers. I shoot manual focus 99% of the time so should work better for me.

It's amazing how I came to this video before knowing you personally. This is such an impressive video you talk about lenses without any bias toward sponsors and the advice that you give made it easy-to-use for me to decide which lens to buy. I've already bought one Sony GM II after looking at your videos and I intend to buy 1 and the more anamorphic one looking at this advice.

Thank you for this video, Mateo. I'm contemplating potentially buying a Sony FX30 (crop sensor) and wondering what lens you would recommend to pair with that camera? I know that the GM II is solid but potentially looking at the SIRUI anamorphic lens (although i know the focus may be a issue at times). A lot of my work is narrative based.

the sony fx30 is beast of a crop sensor camera! so I would look into the sony 16-55 f2.8 zoom lens to start off with! Sirui does have apsc anamorphic lenses as well that you could get for the low on ebay!

Nah I don’t need a bunch of primes lol maybe if I did more photography! I like renting unique vintage prime lenses most of the time if I need em for a shoot! Literally my 2.8 zooms in a lit set gets the job done for me 99% of the time!

So, please excuse this stupid question - I'm very new to the world of interchangeable lenses. I've only ever shot video with a fixed. I need to use a tripod for most of what I shoot. Can I use my Sachtler tripod with the FX6 plus FE 24-70mm, or do I need to use a cage and rods? And if so, how can I mount then to the tripod?

try the 70-200 gm oss ii with the 2x converter over the 100-400mm i think thats more versatile but for sports i understand those lenses are pretty essential

Please what lens did you use for the video clip on 0:18 , second questions really like the zoom lenses like 70 200 it makes the faces cinematic and images compressed but I have to buy just one lens and I’m hesitating between a 16-35 mm f1.4 and 70-200 f2.8 , if I shoot with the 16-35 closely to the product or face does it give the bokeh and cinematic look?

@@jeltedj74 the upgrade from GM 1 to GM II is definitely worth imo especially if youre going to buy your first 24-70. the anamorphics are amazing but theyre a specialty lens so if you dont need them you can always rent them

If only had two lenses Sony 24-70 GM II and 70-200 GM II if you need to add a third lens the 24mm f1.4. Those are my go to lenses for destination weddings

I had the original for two years the new one has much better color rendition, bokeh, and much better focus. I would probably get the sigma over the original 24-70 g master in 2023 if budget was a concern

Yea man, I’m super confused on what to get. I’m gonna be purchasing my first everything. I don’t mind spending the money on nice stuff, not that I have the money for it but if I have a direction on what gear, I’d feel better about it. Anamorphic is def where I’d like to go. I wanna do photography and film just cuz I’ve always had an interest in it, just never explored it. And I kinda wanna just invest now in the good stuff, then not have it later. I’m researching like crazy. Errbody points to the A7IV, FX3, some new fujifilm but then the A9III is out. And I don’t have a computer for editing, so I figured I’d just try and edit things on my phone or something.
