*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*

I live in southern Michigan and last week I took a rod and put a clear flaked pointed minnow plastic I had gotten from Walmart with a black and chartreuse tube bait about 18 inches above it. I used my trolling motor between 0.5- 0.8mph I just dragged them about 50 feet behind me along the drop off I am new to crappie fishing but this was deadly for me. I cant tell you how many fish I caught many 2 at a time. Several 13 inchers which I kept 3 of for eating. All 3 had eggs in them. I rigged up my other rod the same way. I can't wait to get back out there. It did make me resort to buying another rod and real because the difference in feel between my lightening rod and the ugly stick is insane. I renedered the ugly stick almost useless and went and bought another lightening rod. One thing that shocked me is of all the crappie I have caught these things were jumping like crazy while reeling them in. I don't remember ever experiencing that before.

I love the hair jig on the spinner bait. That would be a deadly search bait here in Oklahoma!! Nice video bro!

I've been searching for some 1/32 spinnerbaits. I don't want beetle spins. I want some like this guy has. I can't find any anywhere. 🤷♂

I have a Lowrance Hook2 5 Tripleshot. The transducer is on the transom. I do have a trolling motor but no unit attached to it. I'm fishing out of a 12ft aluminum. How do I go about looking at my unit in relation to how my transducer is oriented? I've been watching your videos trying to apply your bow mount approach to my set up with no luck. I'm determined to learn how to read crappie on this unit and appreciate all your posts. Very informative

I just posted a video talking about how to use 2d sonar, which discusses how the transducer is oriented on your screen. Basically the top right corner of your is where the transducer is sending its signal when using 2d or down imaging. When using the side imaging screen the transducer is sending the signal on the top center of the screen.

How did you go about finding crappie before sonar? I can't afford one yet, but still planning on going fishing. I am on a reservoir that max depth is only about 35 feet, with many areas 10-15.

Best lure to catch already found crappie

Great info! I really enjoy your videos. I'm in Northern WI on lakes with dark stained water. Do the tactics change much and if so, how?
@FloppingCrappie3 жыл бұрын
No, the tactics are pretty much them. Find the deeper weed edges, cast a jig along them until you fond the school

What colors do you prefer in the Wisconsin lakes? Dirty and clear water.
@FloppingCrappie2 жыл бұрын
Well, black/chartreuse is a go-to pattern no matter what upnorth. I always have pink, chartreuse plastics in the boat. On really clear lakes I use a natural minnow pattern silver or light blue/clear.

I live in Memphis and usually fish the oxbows off the river. the water is basically muddy, will the chartreuse blade work as well here. I have a variety of beetlespins as well as other crappie jigs i use.
@FloppingCrappie3 жыл бұрын
You could tried the chartreuse, but my guess is a darker color like black or blue would work better.

What fish finder are you using? I’m not interested in the downs scope.

I use the Garmin 93sv UHD bit.ly/2TOYoPC

When it gets to the drop depth, do you give it a twitch to start the spinner action?
@FloppingCrappie3 жыл бұрын
Yes, especially if I'm casting in weeds. It helps shake off any weeds the blade or hook picked up on the drop.
@indianachrisUDX13133 жыл бұрын
@@FloppingCrappie I do the same thing, only in the river I cast up stream, and twitch (jerk) it a bit to get the action started, then bump rocks to get smallies or whatever! So do you target mostly the weed edges of drop-offs?

What kind of knot did you use? I didn’t catch that in the beginning
