Brilliant video good sir! Really not a fan of the rotating cameras in the American racing, F1 and others I watch regularly have tried it but thankfully never stuck with it. Really frustrating when you're watching a great battle then just when it gets to the main fight you just see a side view of the other car. No track no nothing else. Very good compilation though man much love 😎👏❤

I agree with the rotating cameras. It kinda makes sense for oval racing if the cars are side by side for long, but why IndyCar uses it on road courses is beyond me. I want to see the hands of the driver and both front wheels. We often don't see how much space the driver overtaking even has...

All the clips are 20 or seconds long, only F1 is like 5s for just a simple overtake, this proves how much F1 needs to change to make its cars more racey

while I agree that F1 has to improve the cars in terms of racing, it has to be said that the clips are so short because else the video is blocked. So in most cases I can’t show the build up to the overtake. And there have been great side by side battles especially in Portimao and Austria.

yeah it is Sam Collins! they had a legendary broadcast going on Nismo TV and later The Race for Super GT, sadly these days the international broadcast has gone down in quality due to Motorsport TV buying the rights.

Anybody could tell me why Gronholm and Ekstrom go for another part of the track in <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="304">5:04</a>? It's free selection o how it works? It blowed my mind xD

yes of course, basically it's because the rules say they had to. That part of the track is called the "joker lap" (the commentator Andrew Coley refers to it as well as "joker"). In Rallycross, the rule is that you have to take the joker lap at least once in the race and that is basically the strategy point of it. The joker lap takes longer than the normal lap, because of that it is very important to choose when you joker during the race and where you come out. You can see the crosses or the checks in the timing tower on the left of the screen, a check means that the driver already jokered in the race. It was quite interesting in that race, the joker wasn't that slow because of the wet conditions, normally they would lose much more time. You can find the whole race on KZbin at the World Rallycross channel, go watch the full thing so that you can see how it plays out during the race. Or if you want to see some Rallycross from this year, check the RallyX Nordic channel, so that you get familiar with the concept.

European road racing fascinates me but in terms of the racing, NASCAR road courses are the best in racing. Actually trophy trucks are the best. But it’s between those two.
