As a journalist I often get to see new products and launches months before every one else and so here they are, my favourite product ranges and launches and products to look out for in the first few months of 2018.
There are some very exciting new launches coming up including lots of glycolic lotions and masks, great cleansers, new budget sheet masks, and the arrival of retinol to the high street (hoorah, about time too I hear you say).
Most of the ranges or products have not been launched yet but here are the brand websites to register interest.

All these products scream The Ordinary but with fancy bottles/packaging. TO needs to make cocktails of some of its active ingredients instead of selling them separately and it would win the game all over again.

Fab video, Nadine. So much choice -- it's like going to a restaurant with a 30-page menu. How does one choose? How does one know what's best? In the end I always fall back on the well-known but boring and old fashioned when I'm just dying to do/eat/use something really exciting for my nearly 80-year old skin. Sigh! No one in the department stores/Boots/Superdrug is in the slightest bit interested of course, and who can blame them? But I do so enjoy your videos and am looking forward to the next ones. Thank you.

Beautiful Nadine...when is The Ordinary's new waterblend foundation coming? They said December but it's now January. I'm still loving my clear skin. I did a cut crease last night for new years. My first ever. KZbin gurus, you included, have taught me how to get clear skin and how to make my makeup look good.

Love that you're telling us about these, but I'm now so confused about what to use. I remember the good old days (10 years ago!!), before this constant chemistry class! I listen to you and several others, but lately find the information going over my head. I use The Ordinary products, but they, too, have so many different chemicals, retinoids etc. and are constantly bringing out new ones, what to use as a day to day regime has me baffled, and I'm sure I'm not the only one (maybe the only to admit it!!). Please advise a simple regime for aging (aren't we all?) dryish skin, with wrinkles appropriate to my age, that has time to spend on a routine, and wears a full face of makeup every day. Would love some advice!

@idalaursen8935
@idalaursen8935 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Fionia, I case you are still confused - listen to Nadine and someone like Caroline Hirons, Sali Hughes and Stephanie Nicole. You can mix and match, so that some days you use products which are targeted towards ie. wrinkles and other days if you feel more like treating dryness or sallow skin, you target that. The benefit of “The constant chemistry class” is that you can mix and match these products now without having to buy products which “overlap” in 80% of their effects and you can do it at a reasonable price. But go through Nadine’s back-catalogue to know what products at what price points you are most drawn to - and remember you skin needs different treatments for sifferent seasons. And follow you gut and what you like, follow textures and ask as many questions as you possibly can, when you go to stores and never ever feel presserende to buy. Ask for a sample (samples will, most times, not show you huge results but guide you towards if it is a product you like and feel you are benefitting from) And go back to counter and have a talk about what worked and what didn’t work. That way you should be able to build a good, simple skincare rutine which consists of products you are ssatified with and which make your skin look the way you want. And also - start small, cover you most basic needs and desires and then build upon that foundation and before you know it, you’ll be mixing and matching like a pro😊 Hope that was somewhat helpful🙂

I want to send a big Thank You. I've been using BHA and AHA acids for a couple of years and thought I was achieving a good result. Then, I watched your acids video and discovered Lactic Acid. My oh my. It is the acid of my skin dreams. With one use the change was noticeable. Even my son said "Wow, what did you do to your face? It looks great." Coming from a man that doesn't notice much of anything, I knew I was on to something. I had heard about lactic acid, but your video convinced me to try it. I'm glad I did. So, thank you.

Hi Nadine, I️ love your videos they are so educational. I️ heard you mention hyloronic acid could make your skin Peel. I️ use the Ordinary hyloronic acid in the am and pm. Should I️ only be using it 1 time per day? I️ have noticed my primer’s are balling up upon application. Could the hyloronic acid be causing this? Also, I️ have heard several different answers on my next question. I️ use essential oils etc. the ordinary squaline and Argenriline serums And oil at night. Should the oils and serums be added before or after my heavy night cream? Happy New Year! Tina

Nadine up there with the Beauty bloggers... thanks for letting us peek into next year... I have a ? ... you say after using a cleansing balm you have to use glycolic acid IF you want serums to get into the skin.... but glycolic acid instructions tell you to use a pea size amount and keep on all night.... I AM Confused .... could you take us back to school.... ( not a blackboard) white now..... and show us 1 - 5 what to use when.... for various ages maybe I have good skin but gee whizz I am easily lured to products mid - range ... I have about 10 ordinary bottles and now use none of them... confused with what they do.... I use Deciem, skin ceuticals, Paula choice and about to spend 70 + quid on a fab essential oil serum... should I spend that amount or can I get just as good a hit with a mid range one for a 60 year old good skin.... help please HNY, love your posts😍

I have a quick question and tried to go through a bunch of your videos which of course I had already watched to find the answer, but I thought you had mentioned a niaminacide product that was not sticky? Could you please let me know what that was please? Now that I am thinking about it you might have been referencing a hyaluronic acid product instead. In any event I would be interested in either or as I have found both to be sticky. But mostly interested in your favorite niaminacide product. Thanks so much!!

Too bad all these "new and exciting" products are unregulated and are just marketing... What they do best is cleanse your bank account. I saw HUGE improvement in my skin when I ditched all these latest and greatest products and started using tretinoin and sunscreen daily. That's all you need. Nadine, the reason why you are still peeling from tretinoin after all these months is because you put too much crap on your skin!!

Dear nadine I just had a facial where the woman told me that not only was my skin dry but also completely dehydrated. I know my skin is dry and I only use products for that - serums, masks, moisturiser etc But I do use an electric face brush with Clinique facial soap for a deep cleanse. Is that to harsh? And is there anything that is a 'no no' when dealing with dry skin? I obviously want my skin to be healthy and keep lines away as long as I can (just turned 30) Thank you Katrin

Oh Nadine you do make me laugh, silence of the lambs, in the nicest, funniest kind of way!! :D You are just a knowledgeable bundle of fun. I wonder if you could give me some advice pretty please. This might be a long one! I started to use tretenoin (I got it through my work in a private hospital)but I couldn't stand the fact that it made me look super wrinkly & peel like crazy. I then tried the skinceuticals 0.3% & this also makes me look old and in fact my whole face looks really dry & tight when I use either of them. I know retinol is the gold standard as you say, but I'm struggling to get over the settling in period because I just look even older and awful. I'm thinking of giving the Paula's choice one a go as some have said thats more moisturising at the same time, I don't know if I'm peeling more that most but it's so hard to deal with isn't it? My under eyes are my biggest problem, they make me want to cry as they're so hideously crepey underneath, I know some would say thats ridiculous but that's how it makes me feel. I'm only 48 but half the time I look about 70. I would do whatever it takes to get it sorted & know I can't have botox on that area but do you know if there is any type of laser to help or any other treatment for that matter that I should look into? I know you're not an expert in aesthetics or treatments but wondered if you could point me in the right direction. I'm a 40 plus blogger, so want to look good on camera, (although good lighting helps!) I don't want to look younger, just the best version of me that I can be. Thanks in advance for your help on both points. Steph www.pricelesslifeofmine.com

Just wanted to say Happy New year to all. I am reading many conflicting views on so many products. 1 example, stay away from high foaming cleansers. They can strip the skin, leaving it tight & older looking. Others say clean, clean, clean & let's add a brush to make sure those pores are cleaned out. I have gotten to the point, I am not sure who to believe. Then there's products, soy is good, soy is bad. Which is it? Some things are easy to understand, like using retin-a at night, yet even here some say use it whenever with whatever. The most problematic to me are prices. Some are ridiculously high. Sorry, just venting. I also believe some things by now should be known & researched by women. Nadine, I thank you for your patience & lovely personality.

You just made me look forward to aging...with all of the new items coming out to keep me younger looking. Seriously, thanks for the update of the new and up coming products. I will definitely be looking for the LaRoshePosay Hyla B5. It sounds like I need it... What are your thoughts of skincare with estriol with progesterone used with Retin A. Is there a product on the market that contains these that you know of? Somewhere I heard this was a good combination and I am wondering what you think. Thank you so much for all of your great, informative, often cost saving for the same results videos. Blessings:D

Hi Nadine you that have a lot of weight in the make up industry.... can u please ask people that do balm cleansers... Clinique, Emma Hardie, etc,, ask them to do a different packaging? I travel a lot and I want things that can be squeezed? Instead to have to take a big heavy pot! Thanks!

Amazing video full of information again Nadine! Love watching you and Caroline. I’m almost 37 with really dry dehydrated skin but want to get more into active ingredients. It seems such a mine field any tips on what would be best to start with? Xx

HNY Nadine! I am so excited to see what mega watt skincare super stars come flying in to the new year. I have recently added Murad retinol serum to my nightly regime a couple of nights per week and am liking the addition. Problem is, too many products, one face to try them on and always wanting the next biggest and best skincare super heros! I am so close to jumping the fence on trying Alpha H liquid Gold, I know Caroline H raves it efficacy, any recommendations for 47 year old, normal/sometimes drish skin that is definitely acid acclimated? Is it really all it's hyped to be? Looking forward to another great year with your channel. Peace and love xo

What do think of 10% lactic acid? I bought the R-lactin lotion in South Africa. I also have psoriasis here and there. How should I use it?

This is a bit of a random question but seeing as you were talking about Joan Crawford’s elbows.... do you have any tips on how to lighten darkened elbows? Should I go with the old lemon trick or do you have a more sophisticated solution? Thank you 😘
