the oestrogen found in soy is phytoestrogens and doesn't effect your hormone level in any way so the myth of soya giving guys manboobs is bullshit however the oestrogen found in dairy does raise your hormone levels. soya is not the problem but of course consuming large qualities of anything processed isn't great either.. another great video guys

We use loads of these milks. My husband stopped cow's milk 15 years ago because of his osteoarthritis diagnosis, we changed his diet to alkaline, cow's milk is very acidic, and he overcame his arthritis. We both used soya mil in tea but now he has almond milk and because it's sweet he now doesn't use agave in his tea. Our eldest son stopped dairy because of acne and our youngest son is vegan. I like coconut milk for porridge. I use soya for pancakes, Yorkshire puddings and in the mash, I find it pretty versatile. Be careful with carrageenan in products ,although it is made from seaweed it's not great for the stomach , Google it. Great video , thanks .

Coconutty! I am so used to all the different tastes that the different nut milks give me. Try different ones till you get the one you like. Same with sweetener, I like date syrup on muesli but agave on porridge.
@james64ibm
@james64ibm 6 жыл бұрын
I can't trust a person's opinion that voluntarily uses agave syrup. I'll stick with real milk and it's cholesterol-regulating properties. Google it. Besides, it's the only stuff meant to completely nourish an animal, while a mixture of rice and coconut is not. ... and it is the only fructose-free option of all the milks. And it's the cheapest. Good and informative comparison, though. Except for the "milk is bad for you" propaganda.
@evebeer9361
@evebeer9361 6 жыл бұрын
james64ibm it's nor really propaganda. It's a fact that the animal protein in milk creates a more acidic environment, and the only way to restore this back to alkaline, is to take the phosphorus from the bones and excrete the calcium via urination. This weakens bones. Therefore the calcium in cows milk is completely redundant. Proof of this: North America is the largest consumer of cows milk and it is also the place with the most cases of osteoporosis :)

Soy contains pythoestrogen which is not the same as oestrogen and thus doesn’t have the same effect on human body. Plant hormones and animal hormones don’t affect humans in the same way. I can assure you that drinking cows milk that contains animal oestrogen will contribute to breast cancer or “men boobs”.
@rtsa4633
@rtsa4633 5 жыл бұрын
It behaves in similar ways to estrogen in the body according to my research however also has different and opposite effects since it isn't exactly the same. Just because they're different doesn't mean it's faultless but I may have not done enough research.

The soy/oestrogen debate is a half-lie perpetuated by the American Dairy Council. Indeed, soy is naturally high in photo-oestrogen, but all plants and their products contain phyto-oestrogens. Look it up. Beer, for example is extremely high in photo-oestrogens (that’s the hops), far more than soy. There has been few studies that effectively show soy causes man boobs in males. Soy, however, can interfere with the uptake of iodine. That’s why in Asia they always pair some seaweed with soy products.

With the boobs comments. I used to drink a few glasses of milk every day. Low fat. And a couple of cups of coffee with cream as well. One day I woke up with a swollen right boob and it got worse over the next couple of months. The way it was going I thought I'd be wearing a bra soon (well 1/2 of one) or else was going through puberty for the 2nd time....Just the one boob. So I went to the doctor, and after saying it could be breast cancer (which scared the shite out of me) it turned out to be a hormone imbalance. Probably from all of the hormones in the milk I was drinking. Doctor said take these pills for the discomfort. Instead I gave up the milk, and now also dairy period! Better than a boob job. Getting flatter and now am not embarrased as much to go shirtless at the beach. So guys if you notice your boobs growing (after puberty) give up the dairy.

It was actually an easy lifestyle change, which surprised us both. To add... Jan 1 2016 we stopped adding sugar to anything. We know there's sugar 'naturally' in normal foods. Our *goal* is to minimize our overall sugar intake. Yeah cancer... game on.

Just to mention, if you check any vegetable milk composition tag you will see that the nut or vegetable itself is usually not the second ingredient in quantity (after water), so you're pretty much drinking water with sugar and nut concentrate. I'd suggest you to buy the raw stuff and do your own mil at home! Waaay healthier and you know what's inside!

Thank you! This was really helpful! I just tried coconut milk in cereal while visiting a friend, and I liked it pretty well. Enough so that I switched from cow milk. But I suspected that I might prefer something else. Unfortunately, the smallest size on sale here in the U.S. seems to be 1/2 gallon, which seems like a waste (and a costly one) to test out different varieties. This overview was just great. I often see rice milk, and so I think I'll give that a try next.

I prefer hemp milk with my coffee. Taste isn't too strong, texture is great and it can take heat better than others.

fantastic,thank you !! I am slowly transitioning from vegetarian to vegan,and dont do cows milk anymore. I live in a place where there are no vegan milks apart from transgenic soy milk with sweetener and lots of other additives,so I make my own coconut milk. I love it so much,it goes well with everything. When I am in Europe I use spelt milk for beverages and cereal and it is ok. Have yet to try the other ones. The hazelnut milk sounds delish !! Great content twins :)
