Great selection of fine photos. I would have liked to see a few more with humor. I'm glad for the options to turn off the soundtrack and slow down (or pause) the playback for the slide show.

Hello Graeme. Tis "short" video with it's wonderful variety of images from all around the world deserves a second viewing and perhaps a third! Thank you Graeme, I agree modern photo lacks depth and soul. We photographers, I´m including myself in this category as an amateur woodland photographer, must work on our own goals and not be streamlined by the current ideology

I completely agree with you on mixing activism with photography. It does nothing for the art. Unfortunately, i can't think of a time when i last met an artist who wasn't a part-time activist. So, is art just a form of activism?

I hope not. It has probably always been political, but not to the absolute state that it is now.

Some really great photo's there. Pity they were all digital ( I think ) as there's some great film work out there as well. On the AI image - should we have a separate AI section in photo competitions? Only if we allow CGI images into photo competitions as well as CAD illustrations. Its all as much of a 'photograph' as AI. I think the 'artist' who entered the Sony competition is a decent honourable person making a good point. What pissed me off was the obvious total lack of awareness of the competition judges. Anyone with an hours worth of AI experience can tell that that image is screaming AI (glassey eyes and claw like fingers), it doesn't even look like the image has been 'finished off' with photo editing software. If that can win then the competition organisers need to take a good hard look at themselves. Happy Holiday Season 🎄

Wow, such fantastic collection of photographs from 2023! I love the essay on architecture in China! Just wonderful! Sadly there are images of wаr and destruction - Ukraine, Gaza… 😢 it’s heartbreaking how much people are suffering in different parts of the word… in 2023!!!
