It's moments like that when I kinda feel sorry for Karl. He almost certainly has a learning disability. He has no reading comprehension and lacks focus enough to listen when he's being told something. His brain is full of thoughts he cannot articulate. He has an imagined understanding of the world around him that has nothing to do with reality. And he has almost no ability to relate to human beings.
@poeticlicensetokill5 жыл бұрын
@@jodi2847 I'm convinced Karl is autistic. I wonder if Ricky has figured this out or not?
@ellieb55374 жыл бұрын

@jo1stormlord4 жыл бұрын
Learning disability? Nah. He can learn things just fine. He is just not that intelligent or book smart, but he has practical intelligence (as in, learn by doing not by reading). And he has imagination but his ability to relate to human beings is hindered by his lack of information and experience. He doesn't lack focus, he just gets overwhelmed and overly focused sometimes. He thinks very deeply and quite clearly about things, but he doesn't think very "widely". He starts with wrong assumptions, so he comes to the wrong conclusions. He is your average joe, misinformed, he read something somewhere and might be misremembering it (like that washing machine on Mars thing. The article said that the rover has the weight of the washing machine) and has opinion about it. Like in another episode, "Why would anybody in Africa want a goat? They don't have food or water anyway and they would need to feed it, innit?" The wrong assumptions are: What does goat eat? It probably eats everything like humans do. So why would you want to have a goat? The right information is: They have grass and water in Africa, grass is not edible for humans but it is for goats. Goats produce milk which is edible for humans. Thus, it is a way to solve the hunger problem. But Karl is focused on his own experience. "I don't need goat, I wouldn't want to get goat for Christmas, why would anybody want to get one?"

Right about what? Camels not needing humps? Worms being capable of cognitive thinking? Fishes having more rights? He is so fundamentally wrong on almost everything and just plain doesn't understand anything remotely complex. Just because you like someone, you shouldn't give such inaccurate credit.
@NxDoyle4 жыл бұрын
No, that's totally untrue. He is wrong way more than he is right and more often than not, when he is wrong he is staggeringly wrong.
@NxDoyle4 жыл бұрын
Not only is Karl wrong most of the time, the level of each 'wrongness' is often jaw-dropping in its idiocy. Add to that the arrogance of clinging on to an opinion that started forming seconds before (as he kept his mouth talking) and you have a profoundly wrong guy. Even if we agreed that Karl was 50/50 right/wrong, his idiocy around space and space travel alone is enough to want to find him and force him to read a children's book about the planets, the Apollo program, NASA etc. Hell, even 'dishwasher on Mars' is worthy of a clip across the ear.

I used to hear myself when I think, and I'll probably listen for it again, but it's been a long time. You can even change the voice for a different effect as well. Ricky has a really low tolerance for what he deems unfactual, and it shows.
@spencerraney49794 жыл бұрын
Karl’s just talking about your internal monologue, like when you’re reading. Ricky’s wrong, its not a dialogue where a voice goes “Hey, look at that”, instead you just essentially say something in your head. Also, it bugs me when Ricky yells at Karl for having weird ideas and not having the scientific explanation for how the ideas would work. Karl just imagines stuff or poses hypotheticals, he doesn’t have to justify it. If a kid told Ricky that clouds reminded him of of mashed potatoes, and wondered what it would be like if they were made of potatoes, Ricky would rip into them for being so silly and unrealistic. He’s so literal.

Karl’s take on Noah is amazing. Imagine believing the story is true and therefore believing in God, and then still deciding to undermine him and sentence some animals to extinction based on your role as “manager” 😂😂😂

Jaw dropped at 38:50 It might just be the most brilliant thing I’ve heard in a while... ...or the dumbest

POR97212 The real answer: The Big Bang actually didn’t make any sound at all, because sound does not travel in space. My old science teacher in high school used to refer to it as “The Big, Silent Expansion” because of that.

Moaning of life is pretty good at the very least watch the episode where Karl gets a hair piece but a good one. Seeing Karl so happy is worth it.

Right! Very Hanna Barbara, like The Flintstones or The Jetsons. Also reminds me of Bullwinkle and the Fractured Fairytales cartoons. Brilliant!

I come here to think😁. Karl is actually a very quick, clever, uniquely, funny fella. What a brilliant show. Thé animation, The endless topics, The cups of coffee .....Such a good time😁. TY for posting. From the brilliant mind of Gervais.
