Not only is Karl wrong most of the time, the level of each 'wrongness' is often jaw-dropping in its idiocy. Add to that the arrogance of clinging on to an opinion that started forming seconds before (as he kept his mouth talking) and you have a profoundly wrong guy. Even if we agreed that Karl was 50/50 right/wrong, his idiocy around space and space travel alone is enough to want to find him and force him to read a children's book about the planets, the Apollo program, NASA etc. Hell, even 'dishwasher on Mars' is worthy of a clip across the ear.

It's moments like that when I kinda feel sorry for Karl. He almost certainly has a learning disability. He has no reading comprehension and lacks focus enough to listen when he's being told something. His brain is full of thoughts he cannot articulate. He has an imagined understanding of the world around him that has nothing to do with reality. And he has almost no ability to relate to human beings.

@jo1stormlord5 жыл бұрын
Learning disability? Nah. He can learn things just fine. He is just not that intelligent or book smart, but he has practical intelligence (as in, learn by doing not by reading). And he has imagination but his ability to relate to human beings is hindered by his lack of information and experience. He doesn't lack focus, he just gets overwhelmed and overly focused sometimes. He thinks very deeply and quite clearly about things, but he doesn't think very "widely". He starts with wrong assumptions, so he comes to the wrong conclusions. He is your average joe, misinformed, he read something somewhere and might be misremembering it (like that washing machine on Mars thing. The article said that the rover has the weight of the washing machine) and has opinion about it. Like in another episode, "Why would anybody in Africa want a goat? They don't have food or water anyway and they would need to feed it, innit?" The wrong assumptions are: What does goat eat? It probably eats everything like humans do. So why would you want to have a goat? The right information is: They have grass and water in Africa, grass is not edible for humans but it is for goats. Goats produce milk which is edible for humans. Thus, it is a way to solve the hunger problem. But Karl is focused on his own experience. "I don't need goat, I wouldn't want to get goat for Christmas, why would anybody want to get one?"

Back in 2024, for another round of the comedic genius that is Karl Pilkington. The funniest person to walk the earth, who doesn't even know how funny he is.

Karl's theory about the safe streets is correct. If you've a load of areas in the city which are rough and you turn them into skateparks, gardens and historical landmarks or parks it becomes a tourist location reducing crime in the area.

At what point does a school party after hours becomes a school assembly about crime, still found it funny though

As a voice actor, I know exactly what Karl means about thinking in someone’s accent. They’re a little too harsh on Karl sometimes. Good thing he doesn’t care. 😂

tl;dr Karl and his two possessive girlfriends

When Karl was talking about modern cavemen, he was referencing the North Sentinelese people in the Andaman/Nicobar islands. Little has been determined of their language, and much of the data on them has been via observation. Weren't out of the Bronze Age until a shipwreck on their coast gave them access to metal, thereafter being used in the projectiles against helicopters.

Octopuses do like to get in jars. That's how they used to fish for them. A long line with pottery jars tied to it.

Karl’s take on Noah is amazing. Imagine believing the story is true and therefore believing in God, and then still deciding to undermine him and sentence some animals to extinction based on your role as “manager” 😂😂😂

Yeah, we had paintings of little boy blue all over when I was growing up. Grandma had one. Were they a thing in Great Britain too? Don't know, but seems weird that.
