I mean, you’d get frustrated with Karl as well. He’s an adult that requires the patience of a kid to interact with. He’s a moron that is funny on accident. Probably has an undiagnosed learning disability. Always seems to be missing the crucial detail..

The last minute is so sweet. Mr. Ben book he's so proud of that he wants to give to Ricky and then borrow it back to finish reading and the chat-up lines book for Steve. I agree with someone who posted elsewhere saying it's probable that Suzanne bought the gifts, but Karl is so happy and genuine giving them and Ricky and Steve are so warmed.

I'm surprised Karl actually backed down on the queen swearing, usually when he's told that something was a lie he says stuff like "I think there's always a bit of truth in these stories" or "they say there's no smoke without fire" Genuinely surprises me that Ricky and Steve straight up telling him that they were lying was enough to stop him believing it. I feel like why this season was the introduction to Karl and Karl at his most happiest which is really nice, Season 2 has the best character arc we go through a man who just constantly gets worn down by his two other presenters to the point where he has to go to Hastings to escape from it, we didn't know at the time if the show was coming back then in season 3 they wrapped it up revelling Karl came back but he needed Mondays off to recoup after this show

Kirk Wilson definitely, I actually wonder how many of these he was sober for. one of the biggest mysteries of the xfm shows for me is: what kind of tablets was gervais referring to in that one episode where he mentions them. "kicking in early"

Karl saying he really wanted a job in the shoe shop put a thought in my head of him moonlighting as Agent 47 in a shoe shop worker disguise, he's got the hair for it.

Every time I restart, I've forgotten how good these are when Karl first really gets going... just conversationally - "Hairdresser once said to me, You've got the hair of a chinaman" 🤣 Might be the 15th time I've listened and it gets better every round.

I was the Karl Pilkington of my friend group, I said silly stuff and had a buzz cut and the other two were a slightly chubby guy who laughed at everything and a very tall guy.

Ricky's "animals don't do things they like to do. They do things for a reason" line has always bothered me, cos some animals 'reason' IS that they like it. Like my dog wanting his belly tickled.

Always sad to finish season 1, there is something so exciting about how it develops when they start to realise they have lightning in a bottle when all 3 of them lead the show

Karl's talent show 🤣 I wish I'd seen it. The hair chewing story was something our parents used to tell us to stop us chewing our hair.

The noises make me laugh so much. You know that if he let loose, most of the show would be just Ricky laughing. I'll never forget that one unintelligible outburst at Karl that was just a string of half-words and grunts. Annoyingly, I can't remember exactly what series that was, though. There are so many episodes.
