This whole thing about "The Simpsons starting to decline on season 9" is bs. I binge watched all the seasons on Disney+ and the show was still hilarious up until 2008 or so(pre-HD era). This myth has been perpetrated thanks to that stupid KZbin video "The Day The Simpsons Died" and people have been parroting this as a fact without even actually watching the next episodes or seasons.

The Simpson's Movie was the beginning of the decline in quality, for the most part, for me at least. New Simpson's and South Park episodes are well made but not overly funny anymore 😒

The turning point for me was Maude Flanders' death in season 11. That episode itself was really good, but there was a string of notably bad ones directly after it and going into season 12 that turned me off of the series.

@typacsk I think they decided to kill off the character when her voice Actress was asking for a small increase in her pay. It sounds pretty shallow to me. The series remains watchable, but as Lisa said in The Itchy And Scratchie And Poochie Show there's nothing wrong with it but it just doesn't have the impact that it once had
