RT just drags performance which I have used, starfield does not need RT because developer’s learn tricks to make it look nearly the same. Cyberpunk is on different engine where it is not strangling the cpu of whatever you are playing on.

Same here... Well above rec specs. Audio doesn't work, stutters every 10 seconds and freezes for a few seconds. I haven't been able to figure it out.

Idk if you have known this already, but there is a mod currently available for Starfield where you can add DLSS upscaling on your own, it works like a charm and looks way better than FSR2

So something i dont understand, i tested the settings in New Atlantis, the place that drops me to 30-40 fps on my 3090 Ti......yeah. And i put everything at low for framerate of 45. Turned everything on, Upscaling as well and i get 48. What that tells me is that the settings seem to have no bearing on performance and are not optimized correctly. I mean its to be expected with a bethesda game i guess but still if youre gonna charge customers $70 then you might want to make sure its $70 WORTH and not feel like its a $20 game. Believe it or not, you SHOULD get what you pay for.

There's no exclusive full screen because there's no need for one on DX12. It would be the same performance regardless. The limitation you speak of for FPS is only tied to DX11 and under.

Well without exclusive full-screen you can't use vsr or dsr without changing the desktop resolution.

Not sure I agree with this. Running at 1080p in a window on a 4k screen, is giving me better fps than running full screen (ie at 4K) with low render resolution. And there's no upscaling artefacts. I need to do more testing though - what render resolution is supposed to be equivalent to internal resolution of 1080 and 1440p on a 4K native screen?

The issue is that people don't think of the whole other thing you can do with exclusive fullscreen. CHANGE RESOLUTION. You can't always do that in borderless (yes you can in some games but clearly not starfield)

If you're going from CUSTOM and clicking into ULTRA by default it turns on DYNAMIC RESOLUTION, so that's probably why.

Just as an FYI I made a performance mod that doesn't decrease visual fidelity called "Optimal Performance" I recommend pairing it with these settings, it's free FPS.

They really should put that resolution scaling option under the upscaling type. I thought the two worked independently of each other, so I was using FSR with dynamic scaling and the scale at 100%, whoops.

If you notice your gamma changes when you move your mouse that is also cause by sharpening I usually only see it when I use my monitors sharpening technology with the in game but if anyone sees their gamma changing when moving compaired to standing still sharpness is the culprate

100% this helps. I have a i5 processor with a nvidia gtx1060 3GB! and these settings turned my potato into some nice curly fires :D edit: still some tearing but if i stand still it 'catches up' and its the lighting settings..some places only like low for me but the render res is key, 67 for me

Typically I use adrenaline software to limit fps and leave freesync on. My 6950xt tears all time time without that.

Because I feel like you 100% did not, you seem like you're just guessing and assuming that changing certain graphical settings should change the FPS when it doesn't really in my experience. Im playing on an asus g14 laptop with 6700s gpu and a ryzen 9 6900HS. It has a nativr 1440 display and unless i went with really low settings i couldnt do much better than 45 50fps with drops down to 30 32ish. I turned the display down to 1080p and now can run with high/ultra specs at a solid 70 -80fps with 50 being my lowest it drops. It looks absolutely stunning now. If you're on mid range hardware i promise you go with 1080 over 2k or 4k. It looks 10000% percent better

Yep it's like I get 30-45 fps on both ultra and low preset with minimal difference in both performance and fidelity, the only diff between all these presets is the upscale percentage

Really not sure how they've managed to make this game run so badly. Ryzen 3600 / RX 6700XT and can run GTA V around 100fps on high settings at 4k which looks significantly better than Starfield. Even running Starfield at 50% render resolution with fsr2 and medium settings is seeing around 60fps at 4k. (Aware that the 6700XT isnt a 4k card, but an interesting comparison nonetheless).

I have messed around with every setting I have and this game will not run stable. Mind you I am getting well over 60 frames per second but then it just randomly freezes. I notice it doesn't more often when I aim down sights but sometimes it just does it for no reason. Once again Bethesda has launched a product that was half-baked and needed to spend more time in the oven.

It's not going to make that much of a difference in this situation. The game itself needs heavy optimization work and probably an Nvidia driver update, which I'm sure is on the way if not already available given I just installed an AMD driver update last night. It's not an FSR vs DLSS problem.

Triple A games need to be help accountable. This game is nowhere near top of the line in terms of graphics, we should EASILY but able to hit 144 fps on it.
