It's Nvidia's fault. If they didn't introduce DLSS in the first place and pushed/promoting ray tracing in games, then we wouldn't have to put up with lazy optimization for so many recent titles from developers nor all the focus on these upscaling technology... I much rather see more physics, destructable environment, AI being more intelligent in games, higher polygon counts instead of more accurate reflections or lightings.

I've got the exact same setup - R9 3900X, 2080S, running at 1440p (with 32GB DDR4 3600 CL16 ram and the game on a M.2 drive), and this DLSS mod dropped my frames by about 10 FPS compared to the original FSR2 (from mid 50s in cities with FSR2 to mid 40s with DLSS mod). Tested it multiple times by installing the mod, checking frames, immediately closing and deleting the mod, then reloading back into the same instance without the mods and the DLSS mods always make the fidelity slightly better, but FPS noticeably worse, all other things being the same. What settings are you using (mostly)? Even with most settings on Low I can't get steady 60 FPS across most environments, with or without DLSS mods. I've got no other programs running except MSI afterburner, and the FPS issue is really bugging me.

I tried this option following from another KZbinr and had no luck. However my 4070Ti GPU gets around 70FPS on planets and 50+ set at 4K HIGH in cities using the original in game settings. I will wait till the devs actually include DLSS. I must say though that this video was so much easier to follow great job. Liked and Subbed

Thank you and making thorough corrections to your previous video! Only one issue, the nvngx_dlss.dll file you download should be the latest version, which is 3.5.0. Whether you have a RTX 20, 30, or 40 series card has no bearing here because this dll is not for frame generation, it's for upscaling or supersampling, which is available on all RTX cards. Literally no reason to use the 2.5.1 version of the DLL.

@@hioxd The reddit community for Nvidia hails the 3.5.0 version to be the best DLL for DLSS at the moment, which is the latest one. They are benchmarking quality vs FPS all day. I'll have to see numbers and screenshots / videos to believe your claims and even then it will still probably be anecdotal.

Sounds about right. I'm running a 5800x and a 3070. Using dlss 2.5.1, Hardware Unboxed Quality Settings at 1440p and 67% scaling I'm getting a consistent 55-65 fps in New Atlantis and 70-90 fps and occasionally more in other areas. 2070 super and 3070 are very similar in performance. DLSS is a HUGE improvement and made the game playable for me.

This only boosted my frames by like 3-5 fps. In cities and outdoors on planets I get 30-40 fps. Indoors I get a solid 90. My setup is a rtx 3050, r7 3700x and 32gb ddr4 3200mhz. I'm at a loss cause everyone's saying it gives them a fat boost but I'm getting a few frames more, not even noticeable

30-series GPUs (like your 3050) **do not** have access to Frame Generation technology -- you need RTX 40-series GPU for that. Sorry. Also this is DLSS upscaling image (making it look sharper) -- and not DLSS Frame Generation (nvidia has HORRIBLE naming system).

That's because your game is CPU bound as well as GPU bound. DLSS gave your card that little extra nudge to the point that it is no longer as GPU bound at the settings you're running at. The CPU is holding you back at that point so you won't see much improvement in frames from easing the strain on the GPU. Lower shadows, volumetric lighting and crowd density and drop FSR/DLSS to retain a crisp image at your native resolution.

yeah its not to bad with DLSS i went with the 3.5.0 its working with reshade , yes there is a peformance boost when using 1440p but 1920@1080p on 85% was better fps but the DLSS feels smoothe and nice (3070ti ROG strix , i712700k 5ghz, 32 gb ram 3600mhz)

Yes you have to use the sharpening in the menu for the mod. By default it's set to 0.700 but you can adjust it

I'm pretty sure that by turning off DLSS while in game doesn't switch the game back to FSR2 so this is not a complete accurate representation of what the game would look like in comparison to having the mod enabled. That's just how the game behave. FSR/DLSS without DRS just make it run on native. With DRS enabled, you get to custom the value.

Alright, so maybe someone can clarify this for me. This DLSS mod disables my fps overlay for steam, so i enabled the one within the mod in the settings & it’s saying I’m around 40-50fps. So I figured out a solution that worked for me. Launch the game as Administrator and see if it works. That's the only way I have been able to get the game to launch with this mod installed. If it works for you, please reply back so hopefully we can help others and get the word around.
