You can always add tire coverage with a local tire shop after the fact. I just added coverage to a newly Tesla-replaced tire with Discount Tire here in Orlando.

I'm purchasing a 2023 Model 3 Performance tomorrow, so I'm thrilled I found this video! Interesting, the Tesla guy told me that if I have to replace one tire, I have to replace them all (for the Performance trim), which seems like a lot. But you're saying it's ok to replace one tire at a time. Do you remember what tires you got with the car? Mine will come with Ubertine.

I picked Nitto Invo's for my Model 3 Performance. They are a Japanese tire and have the sexiest tread pattern EVER! They handle very well in all conditions, they hold up well and are an all-around solid tire. I always get compliments on the tread pattern as well since it's so unique and individual. I highly recommend going with the Nitro Invo's!

Tire rack has always been my go to place for tires since 1993😊. I drive a 2021 Y performance which come with 21 inch wheels and p zeros. Two flats in one month cost me 130/tire at Tesla service 😮and the back tires cost 500/tire to replace at 22,000 miles 😮. I eventually, switched to 19 inch Gemini wheels which are a lot cheaper to replace and have longevity 😊Subscribed 😊

We had a double blowout at 5000 miles on new 2019 M3P but learned some extremely important info. The Learnings - PSI on the display was not calibrated to the real value (Its just wrong). My tires are 3-4 PSI higher than what the car says. Our car was given to us too high from the factory also, near 50 PSI in the fall. Come summer time, I really had no idea my tire pressure was way too high (likely 55+ psi). This no doubt was a factor in our double blowout. I know they give you warnings for tire pressure too low, but I don't think they do it for too high. We run 41-44 psi now (on the display) and have never had a problem since. The Lucky - We got lucky in that the pothole we hit was in a construction zone and I filed a claim with the DOT. I drove the same area later and filmed to road to show the large potholes and submitted as evidence. The insurance for the construction company paid for my services. Unfortunately, I wasn’t expecting to get compensated so I opted for some used tires at the time to save money. I got 2 used tires and paid a shop to straighten the wheels in case they were bent (they were barely off, probably wasn't necessary) Check your own tire pressure manually, don't trust the screen. Thanks for sharing your story.

My m3p has accurate reading, but it was the opposite for me. They gave me the car with 38psi, which is too low imo. All. My previous cars were 32 psi, so I thought it was actually high 😂 anyway range gets affected and there is more wear in the tires when they are low. I run them closer to 50 now and get better milage and more even wear. I recently got a nail in my tire, and I inflated it to 55psi, and I got a red warning ⚠️ stating that it was way above recommended psi

In the future, when you hit a pothole contact the city. You can find insurance claim with your insurance company, and the city is responsible for the placement of your tire.

OMG’s similar issue happened to our 2021 Tesla M3 here in Nashville, TN last year with the exception of bending OME wheel on top of damaging OME Michelin Primacy MXM4 from hitting a pothole … had to buy a new wheel along with new tire (purchased from Discount Tire with a certificate to cover future damage) … about 6 months later another pothole and damaged another wheel, but tire was not damaged … I really feel like reaching out to Elon asking for my money back for supplying such a cheap ass wheel! Thanks for sharing your experience!

Try not to hit any potholes or even cracks. Other cars (eg Toyota, Mercedes etc) run over the same potholes and gravel with no issues. The M3 Performance with the Pirelli Zero tires are like driving on eggshells. You might even want to buy an extra one and keep it in the trunk. When you get a flat, roadside assistance can change your tire immediately rather than towing the Tesla to a service centre.

Just got my first flat tire on 2021 model three performance! I live in Napa, but I went to San Francisco and believe it was due to a large pothole! A friend was in a similar situation and gave me a government form to fill out to have the city, potentially pay for the damages… it already has 20,000 miles! And I really want to get three or probably a set of four new tires and will most likely get it from tire rack!

I'd always take road hazard coverage. So many nails and screws on the road. Contractors, et.al. don't clean their worksites, and keep stuff from dribbling off their trucks.

Good informational video but I have a question and some info on those summer tires. 1. Will Tesla install tires that aren’t the exact spec tire the vehicle came with? 2. Those Perrelli summer tires that come stock on the M3P are only to be driven in temps above 45 degrees. If you look at their specs on the tire they shouldn’t even be stored under this temp. So in reality they shouldn’t be driven during winter months as this will void the warranty on them. If you live in a climate that has cold winters you have no choice to run different tires then the stock tires if you want to drive your M3P

I'm not sure on #1, but I definitely made a mistake in Michigan getting the M3P. I should have just stuck to the long range.

Omg your issue is what I have gone through. Nearly six tires have blown out or gone flat on the same car and wheels. Is it possible to change all four wheels to regular Tesla wheels that are more durable ? And if so which ones should I get. I want to replace them all. These tires are not run flat so as soon as you hit a pothole, you must pull over immediately which isn’t always possible and has been extremely dangerous. I now see potholes and freak out while driving. If anyone knows which regular tires I can change to that are more durable (will change all four at once) pls let me know. I will get the tires and have Tesla change them.

I can not believe what people writing here, first that people does not fix self tyre if is screw or something like that by using puncture repair strips, second I can not believe that some garages do not change tyres, so take out all wheel and go to garage with wheel, another topc is that tesla decide what tyre must you have, if you can lost warranty? if yes buy another set 18 inch alloys in uk cost noe £325 some scratches buy ok and next buy cheaper tyre for £50 and tpms and use them with 20 inch covers, if going to tesla, change self set, you pay much more from me for used alloys and new tyres and new tpms, live in UK from Poland

What are the best 20 inch all season tires for the M3P? I take delivery of my M3P next week and live in the Midwest. I plan on changing the tires come November/December but don’t want to buy new rims, would ideally just want to switch to all season tires and come back to the original tires sometime later on down the road.

I need a new set of tires for my 2020 model 3 performance and I'm looking for something quiet I definitely don't want anything by kumho or hankook right now I have Nitto Invos in the size 245 35 20 I have a hard time what decisions because because I love the nitto invo so much and the tread pattern is so sexy and unique but they are on the noisy side. There seems to be a much better selection in tires in the 245 width as opposed to the standard 235 width so I was just curious if anybody has any suggestions?

I always buy super cheap tires. For my golf, I've never spent more than $34 per tire. That said, make sure you pay attention to load rating, speed rating, and rolling resistance. It's easy to lose 15% of your range by choosing the wrong tires with an EV. After all these things considered, and my requirement for good snow performance, I am leaning towards Michelin Cross climate2 tires which are not cheap at all. I would love to get some cheap $100 tires or something but the lack of load rating which will result in poor wear and more likely to pop while bouncing over Chicago potholes, snow handling, longevity all start to cancel out the low price in my research so far.

I agree. Just going cheap on things isn't always the best bet or even the best value. Sometimes it's just cheap and creates more pain.
