you should upgrade to 18x8.5 forged lightweight wheels with 255 wide tires with all 4 being the same size so you can do a proper balance and rotation on all 4.

Perhaps considering the 20-inch induction rims would have been beneficial, as the tire size isn't stretched on them. While these rims are specifically available for the long-range dual motor models, they could offer a solution for larger tires and better protection against curb rashes. Personally, I'm quite satisfied with my powder-coated 20-inch rims.

Being a Tesla I believe the tires are worn more compared to regular cars. It’s a heavy car with awd. Also how you’re driving and road conditions are. I’ve seen people complain about replacing tires every 25k. So I don’t think it has anything to do with the size. I like the meaty setup

Don’t drive all season.they suck on both summer and winter roads. Buy a dedicated winter tyres if you drive on winter roads. These all seasons need to compromise and are too soft on summer roads and wear out fast.neither are they good in the winter. They offer longer breaking distance in both summer and winter than dedicated tire and the excessive wear make them a bad choice not only for safety but economically. Here in Scandinavia you’re obliged to use proper winter tires in the winter and it saves lives and money.

You have to check your alignment with new tires. It is money well spent. The wear on these tires is off. Had mine one and the front was off, making the tires wear unevenly on the inside. I also bought used tires to replace them. They were half the cost with 90% remaining tread - Yokoma Advan.

This is the same set up I have now, I moved my rear 275s to the front and added 295s in the rear. Much better looking and never had a range issue. Took many trips from San Francisco to Yosemite, Carmel, Mendocino, etc. Plenty of Super Chargers everywhere. I think 305s in the rear might look even better but I want to be able to rotate tires. I just ordered Martian rims 19x9 and I will put four 275/45/19s in an ev specific all season tire. No more curb rash with this set up. This should look great with a lot less unsprung weight gaining significant range and faster 0-60 time while looking way better than the stupid stretched tires. Add the white interior and you really have a clown car to my eye, like an LA nail salon inside the car with goofy tires!

Great video. Thanks for the info. I am on my second set of cheap all-season Chinese tires from Walmart Tire Center. About $380 installed for 4 new tires with free rotations and flat repair. I love them and have had only one minor issue with them... The range is a little less so what did I do?? I dropped my freeway speed from 74 mph to 72 mph and I get the same range. I have had no noticeable increase in cabin noise. The first set of cheap tires lasted 33k miles (I could have used them for another 5-6k miles but I normally switch out a little early for peace of mind). In my opinion, no need for $2000 installed tires for my Tesla.

No one is hitting the nail in the head here. Solution to tire life: square your tire set (get the same size all around) how? You can swap with another MYP owner his front to your rear and your rear tires to his front. 255/55 21 all 4 tires if you get the front ( later you can up size to 275/35 21 or whatever non rubbing size you wish). Viceversa for the 275/35 21 all over. Car will work normal. Tesla and mikey mouse will tell you “oh, thats not how the car was calibrated for” BS. Save money, we already f. Up by 20k loss in depreciation and price decrease. Car will function normal or better.

My view is you can't have everything. "Good" tires with appropriate rubber smoothness for grip and thus safety do wear quicker. It's physics. By gaining something you also lose something. I'd say 25k miles on a Tesla is very good. Tommy either the ones you had before or the ones you have now are both an excellent choice. Obviously I can't comment on aesthetics, everyone has a different taste.
