Great pick, as someone who's beaten all but two challenges in it. The later maps are distressingly open. They're very fun tests of how well you've figured out mechanics and strategies.

Previous best Panic Attack's include the Series 2 version which won the Second Wars; The fan favourite from series 5/7 which now lives in America and definitely not Panic Attack Gold which got battered by Terrorhurtz in series 6

It's quite similar, but there are enough mechanical differences that both are distinctly their own 'thing'. Thronefall puts more emphasis on the Combat itself and simplifies the economy, you don't have to manage civilians (farmers, traders, ect) or manually collect coins, you choose when nighttime starts, have very little to do during the daytime and buildings are built instantly and rebuilt every morning and has an End-point. Whereas Kingdoms focuses more of its depth onto the management and economy, with having to collect and store coin, recruit townsfolk and manage equipment, buildings take time to build, and repairs cost coins, the day/night cycle is fixed and therefor requires a little bit of time management, personally, I also think Kingdoms is much prettier.
