I so much enjoy all of the information and the detail and breakdown of products. I am African American and just started using sunscreen in my 60s but still there is a difference in my skin from watching all of your videos. I live in Chicago and just started going to a Dermatologist. I wish I had started a good skin care regime in my 20s . I think all that we had was products like Brand names but never addressed Skin like mine. The big wake ⏰️ up was sunscreen and that we need to use it everyday. This journey has given me so much confidence.I am so proud you went in this field. God Bless

This video was great timing for me. I typically use peptides at night on the nights I use my tretinoin. I used to use peptides from a brand called Foxbrim but now that I’m getting older, I’m looking for brands that pack a bit of a punch. The Foxbrim cleanser and orange blossom toner are great for when I’m using my tretinoin but their peptide serums and moisturizers seem to be more suitable for a person in their 20s. I just started using a PCA peptide serum and skin fix moisturizer. I don’t have any wrinkles but so far my skin looks extra plump the next morning after using these new products along with my tretinoin of course.

Hey Doc! I love your channel and I’m a new subscriber. It’s clear that we loose a ton of collagen in our skin with aging but I’m not sure how this starts. Is it the age-related inflammation (inflammaging) causing collagen loss or the collagen loss driving inflammaging? Thank you!

Hi Dr Alexis !! I have been using SkinCeuticals products : I am 58 years old African American women with oily skin and large pores no acne . I have used SkinCeutical products more than 10 years . The products I have used all those years are SkinCeuticals LHA ( with salicylic acid)cleanser 2 times a day . The conditioning toner, clay mask weekly and the daily moisture moisturizer . I just recently added The phloretin vitamin c with ferulic . And retinol 0.3 .I also started using Natrium niacinamide but I don’t like it it seems heavy , greasy and sinks into my pores . I also started using Black girl hydrid sunscreen which seems ok . I just started using it a day ago . Before that I was using the Black girl Matte formula but it sink into to my large pores and made them more visible. I am confused I also follow Dr Stevens so I now use Cerva foaming cleanser in my Pm routine with my retinol and My Lha ( with salicylic acid) in my AM routine with my vitamin c is this correct. What do I need to do for weekly exfoliation? I Can you recommend another niacinamide that is less heavy like a serum ?

I watched this video twice. I love the ingredient breakdown and the products that are discussed. I bought a serum with copper peptides that I use before the Naturium Niacinamide gel cream. But I had been wanting to use vitamin C and retinol. I wasn't sure if I should look for a moisturizer with vitamin C for the AM and one with Retinol for the PM? I'm not sure if retinol and vitamin C can be both combined together or should be done individually like I just mentioned? Also I really am fond of Niacinamide as an ingredient. So a moisturizer with Niacinamide, vitamin C and copper or Niacinamide, retinol and copper would be great. I'm glad that you mentioned products that have multiple good ingredients in them.
@BigFacts7982 жыл бұрын
Retinol should always be used at night only. I’ve often heard that vitamin c and retinol don’t mix well because they are two actives that cancel each other out. So maybe use your vitamin c in the morning and your retinol at night.
