I still annoyed, why they have to remove it, but kinda convinced that they do it to force people to buy their expensive, worse sounding wireless bluetooth devices. 3.5mm plug are cheap, cost pennies to add probably, so I really having trouble understanding people who defend manufacturers getting rid of 3.5mm jack from their phones. I mean, if they want wireless, even phones with 3.5mm jack have bluetooth capability too... I feel the removal is very hostile action for wired earphone/headset users.
@RandoTechInfo2 жыл бұрын
I don't think anyone would argue the jack's removal isn't a money grab. Bluetooth earbuds are a big industry right now. Personally I like being wireless but I agree OEMs could keep the jack and give people the option.

I don't think it's a deal breaker if it doesn't have a headphone jack, since I could always use a converter or USB C headphones. They're pretty cheap now a days. However the lack of a micro SD expansion on premium phones is unfortunate. Like what's the point of having ultra high end cameras, if the storage capacity is limited? I take tons of photos/vids of my pigeon and vacations, I'm already at half capacity from my 256gb OnePlus 8 Pro.
@RandoTechInfo2 жыл бұрын
It's kind of strange too. While I don't like the headphone jack going away I at least understand why it is. Companies want to sell you their wireless headphones. It makes sense that companies like Apple and Google don't offer expandable storage because they want you to pay for their cloud storage services, but other companies, like OnePlus, don't offer those services so I don't see how they benefit. Thanks for watching.
@yeejay63962 жыл бұрын
You best bet is to buy an external drive, they're fairly cheap because they're just HDDs inside of a chassis, or high capacity thumb drive, also not that expensive, to back up every so often. Also, OK the topic of Headphone Jack's, phones like our shared 1+8P, still have poor USB and headphone in support with pass through charging capabilities. This is when the benefit of the headset jack can come in handy. You can still play your music while not having to deal with taking up the charging port because your greedy phone company still for some odd reason doesn't want to support the pass through feature. (I came from a Nexus 6P almost 3 years ago, I wanted USB C audio out, these were still the early days for the T-C Jack, yet now I have the 1+8 Pro and have to deal with not having Audio/charging pass through in a modern smartphone... I think you can understand my disappointment here.)
@zeliph2 жыл бұрын
@@yeejay6396 Yeah I have a external HDD for my backups, but it's kind of a hassle to transfer stuff. Plus I like to share my photos to people without having to wait for the congested Mint Mobile internet to kick in. At least it's faster to load through a micro SD from my experience with the S9+.

@@JennylaBelle yes and no. If it was new and you could get it for a steeply discounted price, I would definitely look into it. Otherwise, my battery is now worn down and the A30 doesn't even run the latest version of Android so that is a disadvantage as well. Great display though and the cameras are ok in good lighting. Otherwise though I would opt to put your money into something newer and possibly a brand besides Samsung if you really want a headphone jack. I don't understand smartphone makers' priorities. 144 Hz OLED 4K Displays? Something so ridiculously overkill and unnecessary (and in fact will just drain battery life faster, making it very impractical on a phone)? Yes, absolutely. (Even my Gaming PC doesn't have high refresh rate monitor, and I wouldn't dream of OLED on the tv, but you put it in a phone? C'mon!) What about headphone jacks or expansion slots for additional storage, which are basic necessities and far cheaper to include? Nope, get rid of that.
@RandoTechInfo Жыл бұрын

The full phone housing has a huge battery, enough room on the motherboard for any high quality dac, amplifier: how does it translate to wireless, wait it can't! I am strongly in favour of smaller phones with good enough cameras, water resistance, headphone jack with dedicated dac and simple stock android and standby for 2days. How hard is it to ask of phone companies? Not all of us need external cooling on a phone or huge protruding camera bump.
