WOW! I made these yesterday and I can't believe how much they taste like hotdogs! Before going WFPB, I maybe ate 1 dog every 5 yrs but always loved pigs in a blanket that we would make for holiday parties. So, I had baby carrots and used Jill's pizza crust recipe and made them just like pigs in a blanket and they were AWESOME!! Made her honey mustard and ranch dressings for dipping!!! I had made the baked bean the previous day, so had those with them and a big green salad!! Thank you again, Jill!!!!!❤👍👏

I used my instant pot to cook the carrots for the first step, manual, high pressure for 1 minute, rapid release. I put all the marinade in the pot for the step. Then cooled everything, and put in a Ziploc bag to marinade over night. Just a time saver variation of your original process.

I have been vegan for 63 years before the word vegan was coined, carrot dogs were my go to I cooked them in vinegar water with a clove of garlic, and let it cook 15 minutes them my dogs went on the grill. They were very popular in the 60's, my cooking liquid is the same as NY hot dog carts.

That end was funny. We thought it was the jalapeno! Anyway, this recipe came out so AWESOME! I shared some of the carrot with some people at work ( in a VA hospital) who have been contemplating going no-oil vegan. They loved it! The only downside is having to wait while the "dogs" marinate. However, I fried them off in a non-stick pan without oil which gave them a charred look. Next time I will try the Panini grill. I have been nutritarian x 7 mos and lost 52#. Many thanks to Dr. Fuhrman, Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Mcdougall, and the others who are getting the word out. AND Jill, thank you for your vids. They are inspiring, entertaining, and helpful. Try the Mcdougall mcveggie burger if you have not yet. We make burgers and meatball from the same recipe. The meatballs are moist and DO NOT FALL APART in the sauce. Take Care Jillly bean!

Thanks for another fun cook! We tried these the other night and it was very difficult to wrap our brains around it, as our eyes were seeing carrots, but our mouths were tasting hot dogs! We still can't believe how well it works. But here's what I wanted to share with you: This morning I was wondering what to do with all that leftover marinade (we baked the carrots on a Silpat after marinating and I didn't want to dump all that goodness down the drain). The answer? Make "fried" rice! Take the marinade and add enough water to reach 2 cups. Use 1 cup of whole grain rice (I used a half cup each of brown basmati and brown jasmine), add a few sliced scallions (or onion) and throw it all in a rice cooker on the brown rice setting until done. I ended up with beautiful rice that (because of the aminos) actually tasted like it had been fried or toasted, with individually separated grains. I can easily see this being the base for a Chinese veggie dish with tofu or tempeh. Cheers!

Don’t be afraid to grill these on a flame grill. The caramelization lends that familiarity with hot dogs. Also, in Detroit we’re coney dog people so a basic madras lentil recipe can be seasoned to closely replicate the chili, add finely diced white onion and a slather of yellow mustard.

If you don't have smoked paprika, just put some in a small cast iron skillet on heat on low to medium heat until it gets darker and smells stronger, but not quite until it burns. It won't be the same, but it does give it kind of the "smoke" flavor.

Hello, I am transitioning to a more healthier lifestyle. The recipe that you provide is the most easiest to make with the simplest ingredients. All the others I have viewed have way too many ingredients. I think one of the hard things about eating healthy is the ingredients and the recipes. Most recipes call for ingredients people do not normally have at home. There is a fear of buying an ingredient that you no longer have need for or do not know how to use in other dishes. I did see your ingredient list video. LOVE your husbands cereal recipe! I'm getting ready to make the smoothies this week. I try to make my transition easy. Little baby steps. My next recipe will be these carrotdogs. Do you think they can be grilled with or without aluminum foil?

Hi can You pls tell me what is in Braggs? What is that? Thank You 4 Your answering
I want to make these, soon, because I don't mind saying I'm a kid-at-heart! And I want to continue eating "Cruelty-free" forever... I went Vegan almost a year ago on June 1st, 2017, after being Vegetarian for 35 years. 🍃💚🌿💚💚💚🌱🌾💖🌾🌱💚💚💚☘💚🍃 GO VEGAN

Cruelty free? The vegan (starvation) diet, kills the most insects and animals. More so, than even the carnivore diet. How do you think you acquire all of those precious beans and greens? What country do you think all of your lovely avocados come from?
