Best Priced Titanium Diver You Can't Get ? (Zelos Swordfish Titanium Forged Carbon Review 2020)

So after a bit of a wait the Zelos Titanium Swordfish is finally here and within 7 days all were sold out. I have managed to bag myself a Carbon Forged version as well and it looks amazing. Big chunky watch with the weight of something much smaller. Even comes with a titanium bracelet which in all honesty i'm not 100% sold on.

Great video review! I picked up the Zelos Titanium with the blue whirlpool dial. This is my first micro brand watch and im very happy with it. Keep up the good work.

Picked up the Frost version, myself (#200) so I, got the foam protective sleeve inside the bracelet. Three quibbles on my side after a few days: First, my clasp has some sharp edges, quite scratchy and may need some Dremel work on my work bench. Second, the bezel is WAY too tight; popped it off, added some top notch gear lubricant, but to no avail, that will just need to be broken in. Third, and this is perhaps me not thinking through the Frost version - overnight, the lume on the hands fades quicker than the dial, but they don't 'reverse out' against the dial either. The result is a glowing circle that gives you no ability to tell the time. Thinking I should have picked up the gilt dial. BUT in the daytime, when the glowing party piece is waiting for the lights to go out, the white dial with the almost cream-colored indices just looks awesome. Its a keeper! I'm looking forward to the Ti developing its patina and the bracelet to show its age overtime. This one won't a be a museum piece. Great review. I'm looking forward to your review of the 40mm Swordfish. I missed that launch. But I'm glad otherwise I would have had to pass on the Ti Diver.

Hi Kyle, I think the Dailos Waveform may be a cheaper alternative for full titanium watches (even the clasp). I got mine at $319 on their recent launch on kickstarter. Off course, I haven't a forged carbon dial + bezel insert, nor sandwich dial but I'm sure I'll enjoy my Aurora teal Waveform, in reinforced titanium! Cheers, keep up the good work!

Great review, thanks for sharing this model. Quick release pins, are similar to IWC Engineer, not sure how they apply here. Was not able to spot the button in the vid. Looking for a Zelos to buy, not sure yet. I've got a 7,5" wrist and some great watches are a bad fit to me especially if lug to lug is over 49mm. I do like the Abyss but it's also a 52+. The swordfish looks quite balanced and the hidden diver's extension (which is great unlike the typical on their clasps) can serve as micro adjustment. Winter - jacket, lower on the wrist, summer - a bit higher. Not sure about the untreated titanium, but by the looks of your will show hair marks and of course scratches easily. Steel might be the way to go or even bronze since I don't have any. Thanks again for the review, enjoy watches in good health.

my titanium swordfish came with the same scratch last week. Also the leather strap split after little wear, and one email and 3 hours later another one is being shipped, no quibble. a solid watch and great clasp, only thing with the bezel is the grooves are'nt deep enough for purchase.

Just took delivery of my Swordfish TI. I am going to be honest, I wish it was stainless steel. Other than that a great watch, but perhaps a Miyota 9015 would make me like it more. The NH35 movement was horribly inaccurate, and I had to regulate it. The inside of my bracelet is also scratched up after one wear. Just picked up a Geckota G-02 with a PT5000 movement, now that really is a nice watch

Elshan fixed the scratching issue in later shipments. I received my Ti Forged Carbon today and there was a piece of foam placed inside the bracelet.

Great in-depth review mate. I absolutely love that forged carbon dial. I'm surprised that they didn't put a hardening coating on the titanium. As it really does make a massive difference. My Hamtun H2 Kraken has it.

Thanks mate, yeah it is a shame. More so that a lot of people including myself first thougths would be titanium = tough and scratch resistant. But thats more our ignorance then a issue with Zelos :)

It is a very nice dial, got to be one of the best i have now. Zelos are just chucking out very good watches at the moment. :)

Haha, don't think Zelos are quiet there yet. Tried 4 times for a helm and 4 times failed. I have given up on them haha. But Zelos is getting very popular. Soon i wouldn't put it past the site crashing due to people jobing on them ;)

Question for you Kyle, I've collected watches for 35 years since I was a teenager, started buying some Seiko's again, can you recommend a bezel I could use on a Seiko 5 SRPBX, i'd like to change it over to get rid of the 'Countdown' (To see how it looks) and use maybe a Prospex bezel (Submariner type) Thanks Hamish

Thanks :) I do like my watches haha. But yeah it is a shame but i think thats part of the draw for these. If you get one there is only a set amount released. I think Seiko and other big watch brands will start listening however and hoepfully start producing products of the same spec to price point ratio ;)

They are sold on Zelos' website, but all of the Swordfish models are currently sold out. Serious Watches is an official dealer, and usually gets a small batch a few weeks after the initial release, so you can try them.

You could get tem on the Zelos site but all sold out. The Mako V3 is up now but all going fast. But you can by through Serious watches as mentioned and also peope sell them on the Zelos timekeepers page for good prices :)
