Omg yesssss!! Dehydration is one of the hugest reasons why people overproduce oil and have larger appearing pores and acne. I feel like this is always overlooked. In general, the skin just needs to be adequately hydrated and moisturized to maintain a healthy skin barrier! All the actives in the world won't help you if you're not hydrated.. and they'll honestly do damage since your skin just can't handle it in a dry state. Thanks again for another high quality video ❤️❤️❤️❤️

To treat acne my favourite product: 1. Dr. Hsieh Mandelic Acid Acne Gel 30% : it took 1-2 days to "rippened" the acne 2. Once the acne "riped" i use Cosrx AC collection acne patch to suck the gunk out (min 8 hours) 3. To heal the acne from hyperpigmentation i use azelaic acid. 4. To maintain pores i use mud mask (glamglow supermud, troirareuke pore control, or any mud mask) every 2-3 weekly, niacinamide serum daily.

What i LOOOOVE about beauty within, just discovered this channel weeks ago, is how Felicia and Rowena knows the products, skin 101, and everything they talk about. It’s not scripted, they don’t read anything. They just know these facts at the back of their minds. Also, they are not biased with the products. They are here to help, to state facts, to share their personal experiences. They are not here to sell. Also, they actually use these products. A cherry on the top is how fun, super goody they both can be! Btw, you two are like that boy during recess who gets along with everybody! Hahahah! Love love love you guys from the PH ❤️❤️❤️

I have had a solid skincare routine with retinol and acids - the whole works, for like 3 years now (25 years old, oily skin, cold climate country) and JUST discovered that I break out more when my facial cleanser is too drying even if I pack on hydrating and moisturising serums after. It’s kinda crazy how much you still learn... skin is a weird thing to navigate

Check out Dr Dray's content (dermatologist). She says to cleanse and immediately apply moisturizer to your face while it is slightly damp. This is by far the best way to maintain hydration. At night you can lock in the moisturizer with an occlusive (containing petrolatum (not petroleum) as well if you need extra hydration.

Absolutely love this video! But, I think it's important to correct your statement saying that bakuchiol is the "natural form" of retinol, because that can be confusing for many people. Bakuchiol isn't derived from retinol or vitamin a, it is a plant that's completely separate from retinol and may produce similar anti-aging benefits, but they aren't chemically related! It can be a good alternative for some people, but isn't a derivative :)

It a couple of reasons 1. Your skin is probably getting sensitized from another product. Products with fragrance is usually the culprit. 2. Blame it on the hormones (food, weather, stress level) could all factor in.

Unlikely to be The Ordinary Niacinamide. You must have introduced a product that has an irritating ingredient to your skin whether it be fragrance or other irritant that may not be an active ingredient but still in a different product. See Dr Dray's content for more info.

EDIT 7/30 (this edit is after my first comment & my reply to my first comment below): I have cleared my skin. After trying to mitigate mild acne, causing myself to have cycstic acne from too many products, to having to undo it and start over, I have cleared/healed my skin & gotten "Your skin is glowing" compliments. I use a cleanser (charcoal or salicylic acid), Krave Barrier relief mixed with Vitamin C serum day & night, 3x a week Krave Kale aha, and 1-2x a week a Retinol serum. My skin has never been this clear, bright, and moisturized :) (Tip: I do not use the AHA and retinol on same night. Sun/Tue/Thurs I'll apply AHA. Wed/Sat a retinol). ----------- So, I started a skincare routine in January after watching Beauty Within for months. Did research for my combination skin. I had mild acne but flaky dry cheeks. Sometimes oily forehead. When I first started, my face broke out so badly. For a while I thought it was purging. After months of using pretty much the same products, my oily T-zone has calmed, my flaky nose upper cheeks are now hydrated.... But my mid-cheek and chin have had terrible cystic acne that I never had before.... So much so that I've bought acne spot treatment. Which is helping, but now my cheeks are covered in hyper-pigmentation/dull scars. And I seem to keep getting new deep acne. I use La Porsay Roche gel salicylic cleanser + spot treatment, Kraves Barrier relief or Tree of life Daytime serum, CeraVe moisturizer, and every few days a retinol mixed with CeraVe. Occasionally on really bad spots I'd used Sudocrem. Maybe I should have kept my original routine (charcoal infused face wash, witch hazel, SPF) and just added something to hydrate my skin. I'm getting older, so wanted to start adding vitamins and retinols. But probably would have avoided this Polka Dot Parade and after-party :(
@mmwoodcockart4 жыл бұрын
Update 6/2: I've seen much better healing results by spacing my products out. I sparingly use the CeraVe anymore and have been using the Tree of Life Daytime Serum during the day as a moisturizer and the Barrier Relief at night as my moisturizer. I let it soak in for minutes and then apply the La Porsay Spot treatment (2-3x a day). Every two nights, I would apply the retinol mixed with CeraVe and apply HOURS after I applied the La Porsay spot treatment (I believe the BHA spot treatment was not working well with a harsh retinol applied minutes after). It has helped immensely. I've also added in using the charcoal cleanser again alternating between the Gel and Charcoal. My awful cystic acne is clearing. The intermittent use of Retinol is helping the pigmentation/scarring lighten up now that the cystic bacteria has cleared. I feel the charcoal cleanser I was using before isn't as drying/stripping as the La Porsay Gel. I'm beginning to believe my skin is Combo/Normal rather than Combo/dry/oily. As if I'd just added some extra hydration without layering multiple moisturizers for dryness that then caused cystic acne that I followed up with drying acne treatments, I probably would have avoided much of my faceache lol Too much moisturizer causes buildup that then causes breakouts that then requires drying acne treatment and round and round it goes.

How's your food habits? Skincare is just 20% of the solution. You have to see the problem as whole. Inside out. If you are constantly stressed or have a hormonal imbalance it will also affect your skin. Try search for anti-inflammatory diets and what foods you should avoid. I also recommend meditation and yoga for stress relief :) Good luck on your journey. I've been there too. My diet absolutely took a major part of the problem.

Let's say that a "tingle" is different than a "stingle"...lol. I'm surprised you didn't include The Ordinary Peeling Solution which for me...is a lot more comfortable to use than traditional "old school" AHA acids that I tried and hurt like heck. I like the BHA added to it and the higher percent that reduces "tingles". I would like to try the other options being shown here but many are outside of my price range like many other skincare consumers...while the "Peeling Solution" is affordable. I know you've done videos on it before...and I appreciate them very much. I just feel like it should be included here as well. So many skincare products are extremely expensive when I am using so many of them...so price is always a consideration...but less affluent people like me need more affordable options and this channel does include those as well. Most other influencers choose expensive products for their videos. I'm sure they get more yummy free stuff because of those price points...but they are not affordable for most of us.

I really like the videos, we learn a lot. But after this video there is so much information and so many recommandations that I don’t know what to do to my large pores 😔😩

So what is the process after the clay mask . Like what should I put on my face after I remove the clay mask ? Also what moisturizers are best for sensitive acne prone oily skin ?
@violetviolet8882 жыл бұрын
Clay mask before you shower. Proceed with normal skin care. For your last question, see Dr Dray's info on this.

I am using wishtrend mandelic acid. Its too mild n doesn't irritate the skin. It does not work for large pores but its helpful for clogged pores

aesop actually sells the pump separately in case you’re new to their products and don’t have one at home yet.

just thought i'd put this out there, but a good clay mask that's strangely plumping/hydrating: INNISFREE CLAY MASK WITH VOLCANIC CLUSTERS (i have the non-tub one...air pump? idk what to call it, lmao) but it leaves your skin smooth as heck and not parched at all! :)

Hey girls! Fan and subscriber here. :) Loved the topic and tips in this video. My skin has been SO stressed. Thank you! I know you addressed the flashing issue in the pinned comment, but I'd like to ask for you to consider taking this video down and re-uploading one that does not have flashing. I realize the hassle in this and that you need views and comments to monetize your channel, but the flashing is a serious health issue. After watching the video yesterday, I got a migraine. There were no other triggers in my day and I monitor and manage my triggers closely. After the flashing started, I closed my eyes and then did this again at the second flash point. There are lots of people who have a variety of neurological conditions that make this video unsafe. I am certainly not the only one. I didn't read the comments and see your note until after I watched the video, so the pinned comment didn't help. Could you include something in the title maybe? A trigger warning? I have had tickets to theater shows or concerts before, arrived, spotted a warning for flashing lights and had to leave. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration.

I’ve started using lactic acid and niacinamide on my clogged pores and now the pores have came to the surface and dried, leaving my nose bumpy and texture. Do I extract now? Or continue to use the products until it disappears

hey girl NEVER EXRACT YOUR ON PIMPLES OR PORES!! I can not stress this enough. You can severely damage your skin and make your skin worse, I know bc of quarantine we don't have access to skincare professionals but please leave it up to them . Continue using your products as directed and you will be good

Pores don't move or "come to the surface" The debris *inside* the pores may come out. If they are not, then use a muslin cloth to gently physically exfoliate your face towards the end of a shower. Basically, wash your face properly. You should never "extract" anything from your face.

Can you do a video on facial sunscreen that doesn't irritate skin? Some high end and affordable options please. I can't seem to find one that works with my skin.

Hi Fei, you should be able to go to an Aesop store and ask for a pump attachment. When things open up again. Try and get the pump attachment. Back home in Australia the counters at Myer and DJ and the stores will give them to you after you buy the bottles.
