I struggle with adult acne. I moved to France and for the last few years it got really bad with stress, pollution, water hardness (maybe not a real factor, but my hair is also suffering). I took accutane for a year but acne came back afterwards… getting a derm appointment takes months (insurance is awesome in France but waiting lists are super long) and I am also tired of being under prescription for so long… I thought hope was lost but your videos have helped me so much !! Thank you for being here for us, acne bit cysta ❤

I'll never forget watching your first video at one of the hardest times in my life, where nobody was talking about how retouched skin is and everyone has texture. It was a hard time in the late 00's/early 2010's because of fashion magazines, my mom criticizing my acne. Thanks for being so real. Can't wait to check out some of these products.

@@silviebee Paula's Choice has too many products and many are overpriced, HOWEVER, most of the things they sell are really high quality and work well. If you're looking to get an entire skincare routine from one brand and price isn't an issue, they're a good brand to go with. I think they even have a function on their website that will create a routine for you based on your skin concerns.

I have tried Paula Choice BHA 2% and it worked well from what I could tell. Although it definitely didn't completely clear up my mild texture/acne issues it was not irritating and felt good on. My only complaint is that it didnt last long for the price point. I have also tried the Paula's Choice AHA 8% and found it VERY harsh and it totally burns my skin.

Why do people always forget about mandelic acid? It's my favorite AHA because it actually also boots collagen production while being super gentle. It's great for acne too because it's anti bacterial and helps with hyperpigmentation (I'd say it does a better job at that then lactic acid). Lactid acid is the best option for dry skin and if u want something in between the gentle mandelic acid and the super strong glycolic acid

Can you recommend a serum with mandelic acid suitable for sensitive skin and fragrance free?
@myselfme7945
@myselfme7945 2 жыл бұрын
@@dianatrif7085 if you're on a budget the 10% mandelic acid from TO is fine. The finish is quite oily, but you're supposed to use ahas in the evening anyway. If you have a little more money, wishtrend has a really nice liquid mandelic acid toner that has some more soothing ingredients such as panthenol and centella asiatica and many more I believe. It has 5% mandelic acid. My personal favorite is the mandelic acid/salicylic acid liquid peeling from geek and gorgeous because I like to use both acids in my routine. I hope this was helpful :)

I want everyone to understand that texture is NORMAL and apart of the human body. Everyone has texture even people who look like they have the most perfect skin in the world. Don’t over examine you’re skin or knit pick at what you look like because like I said it’s NORMAL. You guys are beautiful and if you have hyperpigmentation, acne, wrinkles, large pores etc you’re still beautiful 💖💖💖

1 I love the content you make 2 you're the best skin care teacher out here (IMO) 3 You're too funny I can't - But honestly through your advices and explanations I've finally found the place in me that could link skincare and healthcare. I needed that my whole life but I was made to believe that I would never find the products worth the little money I had and would never heal my skin from all the torture life had put it through (that and the pimple poppers in my family who couldn't leave me be). So, Thanks!

TIL Paula's Choice has a 9% BHA. I've been using the 2% for three months and was so disappointed when it did absolutely nothing for my sebaceous filaments. And it's hyped up by so many people! I've also noticed that SA doesn't help with the (unresolved) KP on my arms, so maybe SA just does nothing for me.

I have scars from the shattering glass from a car accident. I had treatments for them 15+ years ago when I could afford them, but they never went away. They look like acne scars, so I began treating them as such, and that has given me the biggest difference. I just turned 55 last week, and my skin does feel smooth and soft, although I battle with discoloration. I am always looking for new products to try to help my skin at affordable prices. thank you for highlighting the dermalogica daily microfoliant. it's been a staple in my routine for years. upgraded to the superfoliant for a couple of years due to the skyrocketing pollution and it's really staved off the side effects. always get compliments on my skin (look 20 years younger etc) it's such a great investment.

"You can actually get rid of pores in as little as seven days with the right products." I've been using Salicylic Acid and Niacinamide for two months, Tretinoin for a little over a month, and my pores will not shrink :( I'm gonna give Glycolic Acid a try soon.

I know this is 5 months late but if you never found anything that worked, La Roche posay cica b5 balm worked amazing for me! I just put it on after cleansing and toning at night and in the morning the pores are so much smaller! It helps with sebaceous filaments too! Hope it works for you ❤

I must say, I think your skin is beautiful. I also have two small depressed scars on the skin of one of my cheeks. Now full disclaimer I do see a medical est, get monthly facials, use a religious skin regime, and receive botox. What has really helped those scars that I think look like moon creators, threads! I know they look and sound painful, but it does magic for pitted scaring. They aren't crazy expensive, but not cheap either. I think I pay 250.00 for a t/x. Three t/x every 6 months. I'm sure most know what threading does. Now the more scaring, the more threads resulting in a higher price tag. They do work though. Just wanted to share for those who may be struggling and ready to take a more invasive step.

PC’s BHA exfoliating toner is one of my HG. I also love that April Skin carrotene ipmp clearing solution! Same with the Medik8 crystal retinal. I tried it years ago and have since moved on to tret, but it did wonders for my skin. I found Youth To The People as a whole to be overpriced and overrated. Hated everything I tried from them. Also, didn’t Hyram work for them?

@@jojo-dv3uy Which one are you asking about? For PC’s BHA exfoliating toner, it depends on how my skin was. I started out using it 2x’s a week. Then I moved to 3x’s a week, then every other day. After my skin got better, I maybe only used it once every two weeks or so. As for the crystal retinal, I used it every other day.

Id love to hear your thoughts on snail products, Im currently trying out the new snail rescue from Peach & Lily, im using the serum and cream, and my skin loves it. It takes away alot of the redness from the pimples and my skin feels glowy and plump and clean. Ive used snail products before and it feels so healing on the pimples. Its one of my must ingredients for my acne. I also feels it helps for wrinkles too.

I bought a tiiiiny bottle of Paulas Choice BHA 2% liquid in the black bottle my god it was expensive because it was imported. Not that I used it regularly because I am a little cynical about salicylic acid but it does work well for black heads. I think retinoids are the best for texture. And occasional mild physical exfoliation.

If you are based in Europe and have access to Geek&Gorgeous, I'd recommend checking them out. I prefer their 10% niacynamide to the Ordinary's or Inkey List. They have a 2% BHA solution similar to the discontinued Ordinary one. There are also nice AHA/BHA composition, with three different strengths to choose from. And their retinol serums have great formula and contain retinAL, the more potent form that is only one step away from retinoic acid (retinol is two steps away).

Hey Cass, any suggestions for men who get acne around the beard line? I can never get rid of it completely. I do apply my tretinoin there but it seems to just scab them over and dry out the skin, meanwhile new pimples still pop up every week.

What is the difference between adapalene and tazarotene? I’ve been using Differin (or the cheaper Walgreens knockoff) for about 8 months and I tolerate it very well so I think I could handle something stronger. Would it be worth it to pay for a prescription for Tazorac? Is it stronger? The Differin has really helped with my acne, large-appearing pores and hyperpigmentation but I still have some scarring and pigmentation issues and my pores still look larger than I’d like so I want to go stronger if I can and am willing to pay a little bit more for it. Thanks cyster!

11:32 - About 1 to 3 times a week? why so conservative. The website says "use up to twice daily after cleansing & toning skin". Edit: After some forum reading, I see that it seems hardly anyone (relatively speaking in these forums) uses BHA even once a day... they use salicylic acid 3 times a week and they refer to it as "nuking" their skin. Which is valid, but so very foreign to me. For the past few years I have been using 2% BHA twice a day, and 7% AHA glycolic acid once a day, and no issues whatsoever... no increased sensitivity or anything, I feel nothing when I put them on. I apply them one after the next with no waiting. I even apply them to damp skin (more absorption). I also used to cleanse 2 times in a row, and physical exfoliation with a microfibre cloth (but a brush before that), which is NUTS, but still my skin was fine (dead skin build-up issue). I'm still going to cut back to BHA once at night, and no AHA for a while, because I don't know if the AHA is even doing anything at all (or the BHA). I have discovered WAY too late that cleansing oil magically gets rid of dead skin cells that won't get off my skin, so I'm going to simplify things a bit and see what I can learn. Also have a hydrating toner, which might help with getting rid of dead skin cells properly (normal skin functioning). Then if all that fails, tretinoin might make my skin behave normally.

❤️LOVE THE PC BHA….and have used it for year…yes, it’s magical and you can use it 1-2 times a day, from hairline to décolletage…and on body…SO GOOD‼️Just purchased the Microexfoliant…looking forward to trying it out! Years ago when Tacha brought out their product, it was so different and I loved it so much! I do hope it’s similar ‼️
