This was a particularly informative video. I was especially interested in your response to the first question about getting focus from one's own dog. I learned that I'm actually doing something right!! My dog probably has more down time than he needs, but when I do start working with him, he's always more than happy to do whatever I ask of him and tries his best when I'm teaching him something new. Neighbours from a client of mine (I am a webdesigner, not a dogtrainer) got a Malinois puppy as their first dog. I own 2 Malinois myself and told my cliënt that this was a very bad choice, but that maybe with proper training it could turn out right. It didn't... After approx. 5 months the dog was fully out of control and they got rid of it. The next owner can try to fix it. Such a shame!

??Love and subscribed to your channel! We purchased a male corgi from a show dog breeder here in Taiwan at 2 months and he's 5 months now. Our question is...Brioche is super hyper only after every meal by barking, jumping, and nipping at us. The rest of the time, he's disciplined with down time, training, play, walked twice a day, and crate trained. After his meals, we would like for him to be calm and not aggressive. What can we try to correct these unwanted behaviors? Thanks very much :)

Hi Robert - my 10 month old Beddlington whippet is training well. But she occasionally startles and runs up to runners/bikes/people barking. If I put her in a sit command she doesn't bark at the runner/jogger. If I keep managing her will she grow out of this? I don't want to correct her and worsen the situation as she doesn't do it every time

Hey i had 2 dogs one was German shepherd and the other was black Labrador both were females since they grew up with us we never had any problem they were never aggressive and understood everything we told them but now we got a Rottweiler female puppy she's really different from them she growls sometimes and i don't know how to stop her from growling or biting onto things can u give me some tips about it

How do I get my puppy to stop barking/growing at other dogs during play? He’s being friendly, body language is good but he’s just very vocal. He’s 4 moths old and goes to puppy classes and he’s very socialized.

That's just how he is. Make sure he had appropriate playmates. Keep a structure. Or, just put him away.

I have a Caucasian Shepherd that is now 2.5 years old and I love him to death but I want to get in to more dog sports and while my CS is well trained (trained him myself btw). He doesn’t have the drive to do those sports so I was wondering what dog would be good for me since I’ve never had a high drive dog before. If anyone in the comment section has any ideas or opinions I’d like those as well

I mean you can build drive in many dog breeds. Shepherds and herding dogs are known for their drive. Dobermans, Rottweiler, Retriever are too. Search for characteristics that fit you ^^

@@regenindergosse Well my Caucasian has no drive to work in that sense as far as dog sports. Along with the fact that he’s 35inches at the shoulders and 150-155lbs. So even if he did have the drive I wouldn’t want him to move around that much cause of his joints and stuff. I was think of maybe a Doberman, Beauceron, or Dutch Shepherd but I don’t really know anyone with those dogs. I’ve done some research but seeing a dog in person helps make a more informed decision but thanks for the suggests I really appreciate it

Still your desicion. Has pros and cons. If you want multiple dogs without one going nuts yes. If it's a male, they hit "puberty" a little harder but there're definitely ways to train the dog lol. It can decrease chances of cancer. Important is not neutering too early but otherwise fully your decision, everyone has their opinions on it. Get your information and decide yourself what's best for you and your dog ^^

Hi I just got a 10 week havapoo and I am crate training him. He cries a lot at night. I ignore it. He has not had accidents in his crate. He is almost housebroken but I need to stop the cry if I walk away. I am trying to go out during the day for 30 min at a ti E to get him used to me leaving and returning. What should I do? His crate is filled with my T-shirt and a few toys. I give him a treat when I put him in. What else can I do?

My dogs crate trained you need to remove toys I'd say, have it basic and the way my pup stopped crying was to get a blanket and cover the cage , it makes it more of a den for them and helps them settle.
