I hope you all enjoyed the updated build. NOTE if you want even more burst with a little less sustain, you will sacrifice resonation explosion, you can go Monk 6, Barb 3, thief 3. This will get you a 2nd bonus action, but you will have only 20 str overall vs 22, and fists will be 1d6 vs 1d8. Choice is up to you! And for those who watched the entire video, you are awesome! *Note you don't have to respec after getting the legendary gloves if you don't want to. Let me know what you want next! And how about a build 3 barbarian 9 monk, but the barbarian uses a two-handed weapon at the start and finishes off his opponents with his own hands? By using tavern brawler and weapon master for two handed weapons?

for those who dont know if you grab the resonance stone from the illithid colony in act 2, your psychic damage would be doubled for any targets around you so ki resonation blast and cull of the weak would all do double dmg.

Man I can’t imagine running raging monk and not taking three levels of rogue for fast hands from thief. I can’t turn down the extra attacks.

I like having resonation fists instead. Something about big explosions is nice lol You can totally get it though, I mention it in the comments, but I prefer having more str and higher base fists damage overall.

Hey, just noticed your vid! Great guide but I have a question. I'm trying out Monk/Barb and I noticed in your vid you are using Medium Armors? How so? Monk/Barbs don't benefit from wearing them. I'm not good with DnD so what am I missing here? Cheers!

@@MrPikawa you can still rage while wearing medium armor. There are a lot of useful armor effects that imo is better than a few points of ac

@@MrPikawa Medium will be the AC+ dex value up to 2. Without would be CON and DEX if wearing no armor.

@@MrPikawa wisdom is needed for monk stunning strike, and it helps with damage from certain gear pieces/scaling with extra damage from fists attacks (you unlock that at monk lvl 6)

It does not. The game will use whichever is higher for the extra AC assuming you are wearing cloth.

Instead of getting the stat increase feat at Monk lvl 8 for 22 str, how would the Savage Attacker feat fair instead? Or does it not work for unarmed/fist attacks?

It only affects melee weapons. Unfortunately, no fists >_

Depends on when you want rage. I like starting barbarian at lvl 1, 6 lvls monk 2 lvl barbarian, then rest back to monk.

Wish the 4 elements monk was more viable, the skills shouldnt cost so many points to cast etc. Always wanted to make a snake fist build but seems in all uses inferior to open hand

Open hand overall does more damage. One benefit of the 4 elements though, if you pair with barbarian, the monk spells can be used while raging.
