@@deathitself6985 I personally think Pac was more deep and complex in terms of things like metaphors and entendres (songs like Me and my Girlfriend and Blasphemy) also having better alliteration if you dig into his songs as you said. But Eminem is better in terms of Multi Syllable Rhyming/Rhyme Schemes, Punchlines, Wit, etc. I prefer Pac's lyrics overall though

Really good tournament. One thing is for sure, this will leave huge memory for me because I started listening to rap music by discovering your channel back in 2017. I learned a lot in these past 5 years, some music helped me a lot in my life and I gained confidence to make myself better person. This tournament was really fun for me and I enjoyed it a lot. A very enjoyable end to a fun tournament. I have to admit that this tournament give me the interest in 80s and 90s Hip Hop, so since the beginning of this year i went back to the 80s and listened to the pioneers of our beloved genre. I would love another tournament. The multiple choices option for the places felt really accurate so that could be a feature in the next tournament. And a big thanks too you for that hard work and time investment to make people like me enjoy hip hop for over an hour.

While the white boy is not my fav he 4 on my list after Rakim, Pac and Nas, his catalog is huge and very present in my playlist, and he being relevant since the 2000', even after 2010 when ppl said he fell off (which i disagree, I liked Relapse those flow/cadences are stupid nobody touching that, Recovery,/MMLP2 and the Southpaw soundtracks with the conscious and uplift songs where Dope and he re-invented himself from the Eminem/Marshall Mathers to the Rapgod... agree with you on the few songs of Revival, Kamikaze and MTBMB is his redemption for the bad part of Revival kkkk.) Relatability depends on demographics; black people will relate to Pac a lot more than Em and vice versa. 2pac is a much better artist-songwriter than Em and his music has aged significantly better; there are literally dozens of rappers that are technically better than Pac, but none are better artists-songwriters.

Correct and one more Any Black people especially African American will relate and play Pac song more .. But hip hop as a whole anyone from Outside the America - I'm talking about most of European and Asian countries will hear an Em song over Pac song that's fact . The best way to do the brackets would have been to seperate the rappers by era, get a list of all the best rappers of each era and THEN pit all the rappers left against one another. Eminem has been in rap game for almost 30 years, and in every album he made there is AT LEAST one masterpiece (except kamikaze, which is still dope). He is still personal, he made leaving heaven and guns blazing, in mmlp2 he talks about his mother apologising and forgiving, relapse has beautiful and the whole album concept is crazy, his technique in that album is peak. Obviously eminem can’t always drop deep and personal songs, and since he is not black, so everyone would blame him for talking about racism, and he is finally in peace with the government, his family and drug addiction. He literally made everything he could and made it perfectly.

I agree with basically everything except your take on Kendrick. Not a Stan, but to say that his discography is easily worse than PAC’s is far off. Tpab and gkmc and frequnetly put in the same conversation as all eyez on me and me against the world. You can have the argument but they’re generally viewed as better, more impactful albums with stronger messaging. Kendrick is essentially Tupac 2.0, he is primarily a storyteller, was highly influenced by him, but he also took the idea of concept levels to an entire new level with songs like samidot and mortal man, as well as general themes and storylines in albums. And to say that Tupac has better diversity of flow and creativity is actually criminal as Kendrick has maybe the most versatile voice of any mc ever. That’s near undebatable. Would love to hear others opinions

MF DOOM is my favorite rapper of all time, was pretty cool seeing him at Number 7 although it most likely would of played out differently if people weren't voting without having any brain cells, but really great series man, was fun watching, it's actually introduced me to a lot more rappers who I want to check out, in the first episode I opened up a Notepad and start typing out names of rappers, especially a lot of the ones in the earlier episodes you gave praise, and now I have a giant list of new music to explore, thanks!

BIG also foreshadowed his own death to a scary degree….he started establishing it thematically with ready to die in 93 and at no point did his music stop foreshadowing it until it wasn’t foreshadowing anymore. i mean life after death literally implies a posthumous album despite his death only coming 3 weeks before its release. Diddy is gross but I have a feeling the sequencing of ‘you’re nobody’ was still BIG’s idea.

I would argue that part of em’s appeal is how he changes, i love that he is not one dimensional, I can go to a song and feel like he is a person who changes, a person who moved, going from a trailer park dude who was mad at the world. To one of the biggest rappers of all time, facing public and private hardships, people change, and i appreciate that Em changed his music with his life. That being said, you also made excellent points, and I would struggle between Nas and Em tbh should been a later round match, shame you had such bad luck tbh

2pac is the G.O.A.T the best and most consistent catalogue more relatable & inspirational, better song writer and battle rapper just by who he competed against, There’s not a day where I don’t play a 2pac song but that’s not a slight to Eminem slim shady lp- Eminem show was great but got too poppy and commercial only half of encore was listenable and fell off a fair bit from his prime though I agree that kamikaze and MTBMB was a big improvement and replay-able.

I need to say this because this needs to be said in the defense of Eminem. Eminem has made a ton and I mean a ton of songs that can be relatable which is the reason why people love his music. He hasn't "lost" it. He is just focusing more on being more technical and his lyricism more. The albums that you mentioned, I'll go through them for an example. Relapse as storytelling songs had: Stay wide awake, Beautiful, My Darling, Crack a bottle, **** Breaks loose, Careful what you wish for. All of those songs and some others I'm forgetting atm make his albums good Recovery had: Talking to myself, Cold Wind Blows, Almost famous, Won't back down, Going through changes, No Love, Space Bound, You're never over, 25 to life, Love the way you lie All of those recovery songs are relatable either to him or other people. Alot of people don't know it but not afraid was him literally dissing himself in his second verse and doing it really well lol. Recovery has some good storytelling songs. And not to mention heartfelt songs Just because Eminem was rapping a little faster doesn't mean he wasn't making heartfelt songs Mmlp2 Had: Bad Guy, Survival, Legacy, Stronger than I Was, The Monster, Headlights, Beautiful Pain, Wicked Ways. Mmlp2 Was Good overall but those were the heartfelt songs I mentioned. And between 2013-2027 We had: Kings never die, phenomenal, Guts Over Fear, Best Friends, Kill for you, Detroit verses Everybody. When revival came out he made a ton of heartfelt songs that COMPLETELY WENT over people's heads. Examples like: Walk on Water, Believe, Untouchable ( Dark topic), River, Like Home, Bad Husband, Tragic Endings, In Your Head. Castle & Arose has to be some of the greatest Eminem songs I have ever heard. Kamikaze Dropped next: Stepping Stone, Good Guy, Venom. Only 3 because it was mainly a diss album. But still heartfelt songs. Between 2018 - 2020 Rainy Days, Remember the name. Heartfelt songs Music to be murdered by dropped. I'll use both sides cause why not Darkness, Leaving Heaven, No regrets, In too deep, Stepdad, Zeus, Higher. Then the rest all we have is just coffin. The point I'm trying to make here is Eminem has a crapton of heartfelt songs that people can relate too. There's a bunch that I even forgot to name that i just remembered. But ems greatness doesn't end with The Eminem Show

I feel like either Pac or Eminem could have won. I think both of their catalogs are really good. The MMLP is my favorite album of all time but Pac has put out classic albums. I truly believe that Eminem has put out one flat out bad album (Revival) while Pac doesn’t have one flat out bad album but one or two that are just meh. In terms of stuff like storytelling they’re both incredible. In terms of impact I think Pac slightly has the edge over Eminem. In terms of popularity Eminem definitely beats Pac in that category simply because of the difference in record sales. For more technical stuff and lyricism I think Eminem easily wins over Pac. For iconic songs I think it’s actually kinda even or just slightly in Pac’s favor. I personally prefer Eminem overall but Pac is a legend.
