I've never bought a collection but you came upon a great 👍 one. 1981 I had just came back from the UK. I bought many albums from the markets outside of Cambridge U. Such fun picking on the weekends. I'd take the bus back to the base with 25 or 30 records every time. Thanks for sharing your goodies 😊. Greg

Good thing you took advantage of record buying when you were over in England ! It's amazing that this fellow brought all of these over with him.. And back in the same year as you, Greg ! We hope to go to London in a year's time or so.. It will be my first, my wife was with Swiss Air.. She was in London, often up through the late 90's. See you on yours !

Absolutely incredible purchase there, kudos. It's always edifying to know that there are still great collections to be had out there in the wild. Great vid and thanks for sharing.

By networking and talking to people about records helps ! That's how I ended up with a phone call for these records. Some folks are ready to lighten the load after years of hanging on, and not using them. Next week.. I found a new honey hole south of Reno.. I should go back again.. The next video focuses on this little road trip ! Thanks 🎵

JT, cool to show part II of the uk collection. Damn this is the greatest haul/ haul of a lifetime. This guy had the metal also. That’s so cool. Peace ☮️ Namaste 🙏 the Zonkman

I think possibly the metal was his son's once he moved to Reno/ Sparks in 1981 His 2 kids were born here in the US. Either way.. I was missing screaming For Vengeance and that Ozzie "Speak Of The Devil" Also.. I was missing "Let There Be Rock" AC DC. Steve, have a great 4th and I'm glad we got to meet !

That’s one heck of a UK 🇬🇧 collection you picked up JT. Those 7” are beautiful. Great Doors copy. Rarely see that one in such nice condition. Those are some cool LP carrying cases. So many beautiful Grateful Dead records, congratulations on those.

@TheVinylRecordMission Hey, Steve ! I saw your call.. was multi-tasking at the time. I cut 3 minutes of 45's out because the music strip got flagged by KZbin. Had some more good ones to show, although dropping this video down to 17 minutes worked out OK as well. I hope to find another 12" and 7" case somewhere. 2 of them are broken. Thanks

Great to see more of this haul JT. 'Rise up Like the Sun' is a great folk rock album. Interesting to know how those UK comedy albums land in the US. Such a clean Beggar's Banquet and others too. Enjoy spinning these...
@jtsrecordroom39634 күн бұрын
@gatefold33 Thanks for mentioning Albion Band, Dale. It's one of the very few that I haven't listened to yet. I have 2 Beggars now, and my other was pretty recent. Oh well.. I did good ! 😄 Sir Billy Connolly ! I have enjoyed him.. His acting and comedy for years, and fun to see those records here way over the pond !

Great haul JT ! Not only do UK releases usually sound better, but for the most part, the ones you picked up are in great shape !
@jtsrecordroom39634 күн бұрын
I'm Absolutely thrilled about these records, and it was fun spinning more of them yesterday while making this video ! Funny, though.. My US copy of Wishbone Ash Argus.. I think sounds better than that UK, which is unusual, so pressings definitely matter. I will pull my US copy and have a comparison. All the rest of these UK records sound amazing ! Thanks so much ✌

Hi JT!!! what an excellent part 2 of your UK record haul.... some of those are in near mint condition!!! Love to see some rock album in there too, just a couple of years ago learned that there's a Uk version of that live Ozzy album that says "Talk of Devil" that being the more commonly expressed idiom there!!! cheers and be well
@jtsrecordroom39633 күн бұрын
Interesting, my Speak Of The Devil is a US copy.. What happened is him and his wife moved to the US in '81 and they had 2 kids. I bet the metal and hard rock was his sons records ! I was missing this record and some Priest. I have Painkiller and Sin After Sin but Screaming for Vengeance is a good addition to my metal records.. Chao, Cristian
@RandyforRoyals4 күн бұрын
An unbelievable haul JT. Joan Armatrading is underappreciated by many and her records are usually very cheap. Cool Beatles pickups. The Band was such a great group and those albums look immaculate. Same thing with those great Neil Young albums. I'd be like a kid in a candy store with all that you acquired.
@jtsrecordroom39634 күн бұрын
I'm so enjoying these records, Randy, and I saw your 1954 video is up. I will check in soon to watch ! My UK Decca Beggars Banquet is immaculate. I had to cut 2 minutes of 45's because KZbin struck me on a music strip.. No problem, it brought this video in a more watchable timeline at 17 minutes. Happy 4th !! 🎵

Oooh, so, SO many wonderful looking albums I’d love to own! Never really seen Rod’s expression up close on that Never a Dull Moment! That’s hillarious! 😂 My copy of My Sweet Lord 7’’ I love because I bought it at a record store in Aarhus I hadn’t visited since I went to filmschool over 20 years prior, and it was still there (Called Badsturock, saunarock) and the copy IS Danish! When I see that the Band cover Northern Lights, …nah, won’t say it, might ruin it for you 😄 Look at that beautiful Beggars Banquet 🥰 CSNY discography confuses me to this day… keep checking up on it and forget it seconds later. That is the one Boomtown Rats I have never heard. Beautiful 10CC copy as well. UK Records. The label was a map of Britain but a crown replaced Scotland 😄 Oooh, I want that The Kids… Someone nickef my Tommy and my Speak of the Devil 😕 Ooooh, good looking Whitesnake. That is a good live album. History of the Byrds, found a copy last year, not as nice as that one, but when I spin it, with that orange label. Pure love! Instant perfect record collection. Thank you for sharing! 😊
@jtsrecordroom39633 күн бұрын
Hey there Morten ! I definitely focused on album art on this one, since I had to move through these records.. Not to drag the video out over 20 minutes. I would have liked to show more labels. I always thought the same about Rod's expression in that big wing back chair ! Thanks so much.. Today is our independence day.. fireworks tonight and BBQ at a friends home. Cheers, and see you soon !

Wow, an Edgar Broughton Band! They never had any of their records released here in America so that is a very cool score to have. British pressings are just...attractive. The grooves, the flipback covers, their feel. It's a fetish-y thing sometimes. JT
@jtsrecordroom396315 сағат бұрын
You said It.. JT ! This guy was so cool, and he really wanted me to have these. It wasn't much cash compared to the value of these UK records. He and his wife brought these over from England in 1981. I'd have to say.. My Ziggy OG Orange RCA, and that NM Beggars on the blue Decca.. And 146.000 Low # Mono 1968 Beatles White Album are crazy good.. And Edgar Broughton Band too !

Hi Jt, what a collection! The record cases are beautiful. I own the Magical Mystery Tour 7” singles. Probably my least favorite in their catalog. Beggars Banquet and Harvest stood out. Those are two of my go to albums. Looking forward to seeing all of the 7 inch singles.
@jtsrecordroom39634 күн бұрын
Good morning, Mark ! I had 2 minutes more footage that I had to clip because of a copyright issue. I had some bangers ( 45's ) in there, but this brought my vid down to 17 minutes which is alright anyway. I wanted to show more labels, but I tucked these boxes away after filming ! Thanks and have a great 4th !

@jtsrecordroom39634 күн бұрын
Right.. This was really a cover art video, so many records to show on the back end for a part 2.. This could have been too long at 25 min. if I would have shown more labels, books and such. Catherine, I had 2 min. more of 45's.. KZbin struck me for a music strip, so I clipped the 2 minutes that had some banger 45's.. Oh well, all is good and thanks for following this !

Another superb bunch of records (well apart from Jake Thackeray!) love that Beggars Banquet. TRB the singles didn't come with the albums but there was a stencil!
@jtsrecordroom3963Күн бұрын
The stencil is intact and thanks for telling me that the 45's are separate. I first found TRB records at Bill's. My Beggars might be the winner of all of these records, well.. Ziggy on the original orange RCA, and 3rd place goes to that low numbered mono original 1968 White Album. I miss your Berwickshire handle ! It was a good strong name.
@brucevair-turnbull80824 күн бұрын
Nice haul there, JT. FYI Mike harding was certainly not a Londoner. They nicknamed him the 'Rochdale cowboy' i.e. a northerner. As was Jake Thackray.
@jtsrecordroom39634 күн бұрын
Hey Bruce ! I was trying to explain about the fellow whom I bought the records from ( He was a Londoner and British Army in '79 ), actually..It got lost in translation, and that's why I typed in info saying that the owner of these brought all of the records over to Nevada in 1981. In review of proofing my video, I knew it would be a bit confusing. Also.. I did not know what part Mike Harding or Jake Thakray was from.. So thank you for that. Billy Connolly, I know pretty well and enjoy his comedy and acting ! Appreciated ! 🎵
@carltweed9423 күн бұрын
Hi JT. Great selection as usual. Mike Harding caught my eye. He's remembered fondly by many people for the Folk Show he did on BBC Radio 2. After they let him go (one of many unpopular moves made by BBC radio over the years), he started his own podcast which eventually ended a couple of years ago. If you look for Mike Harding's Folk Show online, you can still listen to his podcast archive (over 300 shows!). That will definitely send you off down various rabbit holes! A thoroughly decent and likeable man ... I've been listening to quite a bit of Wishbone Ash recently. I keep going back to 'Argus'.
@jtsrecordroom39633 күн бұрын
I know.. Argus is the one, and it goes back to when we were just kids ! Billy Connolly I know pretty well, and enjoy his acting, comedy and musically he was in that folk group with Gerry Rafferty .. Glasgow, right ? Mike Harding, I know nothing about except that he was a Northerner.. well Crumpsall north of Manchester. ( Sean and I look in on geographical places on the globe ). I'm so pleased to have this collection, he did love his folk and west coast sound of American music as well.
@carltweed9423 күн бұрын
@@jtsrecordroom3963 Mike Harding came out of the folk clubs around the same time as Billy Connolly. Rafferty and Connolly were the Humblebums. Rafferty's 'Her Father Didn't Like Me Anyway' is a favourite of mine.
